I've never been a fan of Mousefur ships because she's like, strictly aromantic in my mind, (I'm CLINGING to the scrap of non-partnering aro representation in this book series LMAO)

but anon, I GOTTA know where this concept came from, I'm genuinely so intrigued, is it just a crack ship?? Is there reasoning behind it??? My intrest is INSANELY piqued. What's the tea. You just might sway me, I'm a sucker for pairs this rare.

So I really like both Mousefur/Mistystar and Mousefur/Spottedleaf so I’ll start with Mistymouse!

Mistymouse:

– They very vaguely remember each other from kithood

– It finally clicks for them that they were once denmates when Bluestar’s secret is revealed

– They met in secret a lot after the truth was revealed and were very pleased to spend time together on the great journey!

Spottedmouse:

– (in this, Spottedleaf always wanted to be a medicine cat) Mousefur swore to protect the medicine den and Spottedleaf for the rest of her life when she became a full warrior

– Mousefur was devastated when Spottedleaf was killed and somewhat blamed herself for not being there with her

– Mousefur has often pretended to be sick just to spend more time with her girlfriend

i saw you post asking for pairs really late at night, and after i turned my phone off i was trying to think of any and they popped into my head.

i literally couldn't stop thinking about them being this butch4butch couple that won't let the other open the door for them. sitting on the lake shore reminiscing about their old life in the forest. having some sort of friendly competition/rivalry in their youth that grew into something more. memories of chilling on sunning rocks and misty trying to teach an increasingly frustrated mouse how to fish.

and then in my half asleep haze i sent that ask and promptly fell asleep. i do also love ace mousefur, maybe her and misty are less of a ship and more of a qpr best friendship? but my half asleep brain was convinced its a perfect rarepair so idk

But honestly??? I can see the vision, I can't even lie. Even as an Aro Mousefur truther, I cannot deny the amazing vibes of butch4butch MistyMouse. You've got me, I'm honestly sold. Mouse can be aromantic and still have a girlfriend as a treat, 10/10, I see the vision. I think you've found a single Mousefur ship I can vibe with, and I have to applaud you for that one.

A million years ago in 2013, @boyvidae asked me if I thought Stonefur/Runningwind would be a good non canon pairing to put in a thing he was writing and I, being a lesbian, replied “how about Mistyfoot/Mousefur” and then we started brainstorming shit nonstop from that day forward.

We love that people are hearing the good word of Mistymouse, ship to your heart’s delight.

No promises or anything but perhaps one day there will be more content from him and me. Unfortunately, anything you’ve found from either of us is all there is that’s public right now.
