here’s how i picture it…

lottie told misty and nat to room together during their stay at the wellness center. misty ecstatic to spend time with her “bestie”, nat… not so much.

lights out. the two of them lay awkwardly side by side on a surprisingly large purple bed. nat is positioned flat on her back, staring up at the tiles of the ceiling, intricately painted with bright lavender flowers. misty, meanwhile, is curled up by nat’s side. part of nat is staying as still as possible to keep her distance, another part of her is doing it to let misty sleep.

“mm…”

it starts with that. little noises that are assumed by nat to be sounds of deep sleep. wrong. misty isn’t asleep, no… she’s thinking about natalie fucking scatorccio. (aren’t we all)

misty, being the “know-it-all” she is (or atleast thinks she is) starts subtly rocking her thighs into the girl who she thought was asleep. at first it doesn’t seem like much, until an exhausted nat scoots away just to be met with misty’s leg draped over hers in return. fuck.

misty’s rutting into her, trying to stay as quiet as possible. nat, disgusted (yet intrigued) scoffs obnoxiously, scaring the ever living shit out of the previously whining misty.

suddenly, misty is shoved on her back, nat hovering over her with a sadistic look in her eyes, and a rasp to her voice. misty is immediately consumed by the faint smell of marlboros and jack daniels on nat’s warm breath.

“this better shut you up.”

the night is filled with murmurs of “this doesn’t mean anything” mixed in with a slew of loud noises filling the air of quiet commune.

I love mistynat bc you don’t even have to mischaracterize them to have fluffy fanfics bc the grumpy/sunshine, Misty following a begrudging Nat around, Nat just playing along with whatever bullshit Misty pulls, Misty constantly trying to win Nat’s approval, Nat secretly not minding having her around, etc etc. is literally their canon dynamic in the adult timeline.

Thinking about pre-crash/no crash Misty being ostracized from the group and Nat not being close with any of the girls. Thinking about Misty following Nat around like a puppy dog because she’s the only one who doesn’t treat her differently, and Nat finding she doesn’t mind the company.
