I’m utterly disgusted by the trend of misusing important terms like racism or pedophilia for dramatic effect.

I will never respect people who do this.

People misusing the term "straightwashing"

If a character is canonically lgbt and people make fan content of them being in straight ships (unless they're mspec, mspecs can date opposite genders depending on the type of mspec!) Is straightwashing.

Let me say what is and isnt.

CANON gay character put in straight relationship: straightwashing

YOUR PERSONAL HEADCANON gay character who had NEVER BEEN CONFIRMED CANONICALLY SUCH being put in a straight relationship: NOT STRAIGHTWASHING IT ISN'T FUCKING CANON

So please stop yelling at shippers for existing ty :)

Ok, anyone misusing important terms like “pedophilia” or “racism” goes straight on my blocklist, no questions asked. I’m sick of seeing serious issues degraded this way.

In which Forseti speaks on "Die Cis Scum"

I will start by saying that the idea of having "cis" as a complement to "trans" is actually a very good one. It gives us a word besides "normal" to use to describe people (thus not having to make every trans discussion revolve around being "not normal"). It allows both sets to equally have identity, and that is important.

However, when people start using "cis" as an insult, it will only be harmful to the trans* community, in one of two ways.

1) To be honest, many people don't even know what "cis" even means until running into tumblr hate posts. Thus "cis" is clearly an insult, rife with negative connections, and they refuse to use it, defaulting to "normal" or "err--not trans". This removes all reason for ever having the word in the first place.

2) People turn all of gender into a fashion statement so they can partake in "die cis scum" posts guiltlessly. (I am very open to genders outside the binary, but please understand the difference between pronouns and proper nouns.) With people saying things like "yeah, I'm a DFAB demigrrl w/ fae/bun pronouns" followed by "can you believe cishets?" and "cis people should be killed with rat poison", would it be any wonder if a person developed transphobia? I'm not saying they would be right to, but would it be surprising? 

(Nevermind how it takes away from trans people in real need of help when people reduce transphobia to "how dare you criticize my anti-cis post; are you saying trans people can't be angry? Cisphobia isn't real you _______")

Now, I'm not saying it's not ok to vent or make jokes. I've certainly been in places where a rant about how "cis people just don't get it" is actually appropriate, or a joke at the expense of cis people wouldn't do any harm. Those places aren't text sent to strangers.

Now, many people have communication skills that rely on voice. (I am one such). What you might type as a joke (by use of sarcasm, or whatever), people can (and often will) take literally. There are many jokes I will not use, until I know a person understands my sense of humor.

Last: If you honestly believe that all cis people are evil and should die: please get help. For your own sake. That much generalized hate and fear can't be healthy.

*(I will go on the record for saying that I  don't really have much opinion on whether or not cisphobia is real, or care if you think "cisphobia" is something to worry about. With as much harm as these comments cause to the trans* community, I would classify them as practically transphobic. And that is how I will worry about them)
