Movie #88 of 2023: Kandahar
Let's be clear from the jump: this movie is bad. Weak story, plot, characters, motivations. Kudos to the costume department for draping over Butler's bloated, lumpy body to make him look like he could run, if needed. Butler looks tired and uninterested. Luckily he get's to sit a lot in this "road trip" movie. Butler stands at the beginning when he plugs the internet in (that's literally the inciting incident) and from there on out look for it with eagle eyes as Gerard finds a way to lean or outright sit in every scene. The only time I really believed Butler's acting was when he drank beer. He enjoyed it. I bet he's done booze ads in Japan before or something. This is no Geo Storm but it's a bit of a disaster in it's own right. Put your brain on hold and enjoy some of the decent action set pieces and stunts.
