'From this Point Forward' is Brooklyn-based composer Mitchell McCarthy's sparkling and highly original debut work of four concert works, each scored for piano quintet. It has been crowdfunded last December on the mighty Kickstarter platform.

Each piece on the album was originally written for ballet, so rhythm is at the heart of the music. Composing for dance means that notes and rhythms have to inspire movement – leaps, jumps, turns. To achieve this, McCarthy combines the natural power of the piano with the incredible flexibility and expression of the string quartet, opening up a world of possibility in terms of color, texture, and emotion.
