Mito-chan is the mascot of Mito city, Ibaraki Prefecture, and resembles local historical figure Mito Kōmon but with a head made of straw - which was traditionally used for making natto (fermented soybeans). They don’t normally have whiskers...

Last weekend, Mito City’s mascot, Mito-chan, held a two-day birthday party in Kairakuen Park, Ibaraki Prefecture. Other characters who came to celebrate incuded reigning Yuruchara Grand Prix champion, Unari-kun (うなりくん), Kamisukoko-kun (カミスコくん), Coroton (ころとん), and the ever-popular Hikonyan (ひこにゃん). Festivities included an entertaining mascot relay race.

does teasing of mito-chan's size ever end? recently i've only watched 2 short hirunan clips: reveal of t-shirt design and today's press con and both times they just kept on mentioning her t-shirt size. even mito-chan herself. aside from the fact that she's not big just not tiny, doesn't the "joke" get tired fast? -__- i guess her always being teased about her appearance is part of mito-chan's charm/selling point

also, leader's been pretty busy and hasn't been able to put in much marathon training time apparently. even during the call he said "gotta go to DASH jima after this"  leader has the kindest face, doesn't he? so fatherly and sincere-looking
