Synopsis: Spending a warm and heartfelt morning with your comfort characters! (Lowkey be having hella fun with these banners ngl) Also, out of all the beds, which one would you sleep in? Personally, I'm torn between Giyu and Sanemi. It just screams comfy to me.

Giyu Tomioka 🌊💙

♡ Stares at the wall for 10 minutes before moving. Needs tea before work. 10/10 bedhead.

When you finally stir awake, you noticed that Giyu was still laying in bed too. The Water Hashira was half-awake, just staring at the ceiling in silence for a long while to the point you believe that he's actually just sleeping with his eyes open. So you rest your head against his shoulder, closing your eyes. But you didn't expect him to lean his head against the top of yours. The two of you stay there like that in silence for a few minutes before he finally sits up. "Let's make tea..." He said simply. And you had to hold back your laughter because it looks like he fought a war with the pillows and sheets last night, since his hair is in several directions.

Mitsuri Kanroji 🍡🩷

♡ Immediately snuggles you for warmth, whiny if you leave the bed first.

When you finally stirred awake, Mitsuri had also woken up, sensing your movements. As you stretch, she clings onto you, snuggling into your side as she relishes your warmth. The two of you lie in bed, cuddling for a while before your stomach starts rumbling. As much as you would love to stay in the warm embrace of Mitsuri and the covers, you had to eat, so you didn't die of starvation. When you sit up, Mitsuri immediately starts whining, clinging to your arm. Don't be surprised if she's attached to you like a koala when you go to the kitchen.

Iguro Obanai 🐍🖤

♡ Pretends to be aloof but secretly times it so you both wake up at the same time. Kaburamaru gives you the actual morning greeting.

Obanai had woken up long before you had. Though he didn't get up or leave the bed. Instead, he kept falling back asleep, waking up occasionally to open one eye and see if you were awake or not. Kaburamaru lies on the pillows between the two of you, keeping an eye so he can discreetly tell Obanai when you awaken.

When that time comes, Obanai closes his eyes and pretends he's also just waking up with you. The two of you turn on your sides to face each other, and his golden-emerald eyes look at you. (Totally planned, he loves seeing you when you wake up, it makes his heart race) While he doesn't tell you good morning, he lies there for a while with you, memorizing the features of your face down to the smallest detail. Then he gets up while Kaburamaru softly hisses a greeting at you.

Sanemi Shinazugawa 🌪️🤍

♡ Grumpy. Growls at the sunlight. Probably kicks the blankets off the bed. (RIP YOUR WARMTH LMFAOOO)

You woke up first, stretching like a cat happily. Mornings before Sanemi woke up were your favorite time of the day, as you could finally admire the normally harsh features of his face turn into a soft expression. You rested your head on your hand while facing him, a soft smile on your lips as you studied him with adoration. That is, until the sunlight shone through the cracks of the window and Sanemi's soft and rare, serene expression twisted into his signature scowl. 'Oh no.' You thought. And he instantly growled, throwing the blankets off the bed as he glared at the window like it was the one who killed his family. There goes your peaceful morning and your warmth.

Gyomei Himejima 📿🤎

♡ He's been awake and praying since before dawn even rose. Will gently set tea down for you before you're even out of bed. Somehow, it's always warm because he makes it before he knows you'll be awake.

Whenever you wake up, you're never cold or missing Gyomei, even though he's already been gone for hours before you woke up. The reason? He always covers you with his olive-green happi just to keep you warm and protected. And not to mention, he's somehow in the room with tea, waiting beside the bed. He can tell whenever you're awake because you start tossing and turning as you blink away the sleep. "Good morning, Y/N." He calls out to you in his low but warm voice, holding out the cup of tea for you. (He doesn't make it but the servants make it for him and he personally delivers it to you. It's always your favorite kind with the right amount of sweetness.)

Muichiro Tokito🌫️🩵

♡ Doesn't realize he's even awake until he's halfway through brushing his teeth.

You woke up at the same time as Muichiro. Or at least you think. You run your fingers through his hair as he stares up at the ceiling blankly. "Good morning." You softly called out to him. But you knew it would take a while for his brain to render the chunks. It was something you were quite used to. Spending mornings in bed, brushing your teeth together, eating breakfast together, all while holding his hand. Several times throughout the morning, you kept gently repeating, 'Good morning' to him. Though this time, while you were brushing your teeth with him, he blinked and looked over at you, his mouth still full of toothpaste foam. "Good morning Y/N." He said muffled. You laughed before responding to him. "Good morning Mui."

Shinobu Kocho🦋💜

♡ Already up, already dressed, probably staring at you smugly while you're still groggy.

Shinobu was an early riser and also quite the insomniac. It was only when you were asleep beside her that she truly felt at peace. She would spend all night, curled into your side as she studied your serene and soft expression. On average, she usually got about 4-5 hours of sleep a night with her head snuggled into your shoulders. It seemed like her body had a natural clock as she always woke up at 5am and she couldn't fall back asleep. So she lingered at your side for an hour every day until she slipped away to get ready for the day. She would help make breakfast, drink tea, read her books, and attend to her patients, all to make sure her schedule was a little free so she could come see you when you woke up. So when you finally stirred awake and she was standing there with her usual smug smile with a cup of tea, you kept thinking that you had to wake up earlier.

Kyojuro Rengoku🔥❤️

(First of all, why do they keep making him look more beautiful and sweet??? MY HEART CAN'T TAKE IT)

♡ Wakes up shouting "GOOD MORNING!" like it's a battle cry. Sunshine incarnate.

It does not matter what time it is or how much sleep you've gotten. When Rengoku wakes up, it's like the whole world has to wake up. Every day without fail, as soon as his eyes open, he's already hovering over you with a big grin as he watches you sleep. He gives you a good 5 minutes before he shouts. "GOOD MORNING MY DEAR FLAME!" You better have a strong heart when dealing with this man because phew. Before you can even fully wake up, he's already dragging you out of bed, somehow you're dressed, and somehow breakfast is already made??? All the while, his big, bright smile never once leaves.

Tengen Uzui🎆💛

♡ Bursts into your morning with jazz hands. (Also, somehow already awake hours before you woke up). "Good morning, flamboyantly!"

Tengen's wives and you all wake up at varying times. Hinatsuru always wakes up at the same time as Tengen, and she goes to start preparing breakfast. Makio usually wakes up half an hour later to help out Hinatsuru, and eventually, Suma wakes up 2 hours later just to get in bed with you because she's cold and you're still so warm. Somehow, you were always the last one to wake up. But not that you minded when Tengen always woke you up with his stunning smile and his little show of jazz hands. He and his wives all sit in bed with you for breakfast, never once excluding you.

Taking care of the hashira while they're injured!

He hates you fussing over him and assures you he's fine. He tried to go out and train that night and ended up collapsing, he woke up in bed with you bustling around the kitchen and the fresh smell of food cooking. When you came into the room and saw that he was awake you immediately started fussing at him about how he needed to rest, and he just shrugged "Fine, I'll rest for the next few days"

Getting him to rest is nearly impossible, he understands you're just trying to help but he hates feeling weak or like someone needs to take care of him. But he kept to his promise and rested for those few days and let you take care of him no matter how much he dislikes it. Even if he won't admit it, he appreciates you taking care of him and would do the exact same for you.

Absolutely LOVES it when you take care of her. She's a big cuddle bug anyways but even more so when she's hurt or sick "Y/nnn come lay with me pleaaasee?" she doesn't return to her duties until you and her are both comfortable with how much she's healed. If you tell her, you want her to rest a few more days she will with no complaints, how could she complain when her beloved partner was taking care of her all day?

She's very dramatic when she's recovering "Y/nnn my arm hurtss I feel like I'm gonna diee" even though you've told her hundreds of times that she's going to be okay "Are you suree?? it reaallyy hurts!!" She's very clingy and relies on you a lot while she's recovering not because she can't do it herself, she just likes being taken care of by you.

He's so used to taking care of himself that when he got injured, he didn't even think to tell you. And when you found out he was hurt and were upset that he didn't tell you he was honestly confused. "It's fine, I'm fine now...why are you so upset?" when you explained to him that you wished he would've told you because you wanted to be there to take care of him, he made note of it for next time.

But even if he did tell you, he's not one to be clingy while he's hurt, he lets you bandage him up and disinfect the wound, but he'd honestly rather be by himself when he's sick or injured and he doesn't give himself much time to rest. The moment he feels better he's up and back on duty again. And when you tried to tell him that he needed more rest he just shrugged it off. "You worry too much" he said as he grabbed his sword and kissed you goodbye before leaving for his mission.

Oh, yknow he EATS the attention up. "Y/n..im feeling quite weak today I might have to stay in bed all day with you.." he milks the injury, like he uses it as an excuse to be close with for weeks. He's VERY dramatic and complaining nonstop. He loves being close with you when he's hurt, in all honesty he loves any attention he can get from you.

He's lowkey helpless when he's sick or hurt he doesn't want to get out bed for anything "Y/nnn can you pass me my cup of water?" when it's on the dresser right next to him.

︵‿︵‿୨♡ Ｇｉｙｕｕ ♡୧‿︵‿︵

He HATES asking for help even if it's from you he doesn't want to burden you. You have assured him time and time again that taking care of him is not a burden to you at all. He tries to take care of himself as much as he can, but his injuries prevented him from doing a lot so even if he did hate asking for help, he had to. "Y/n...if it's not a bother can you help me walk to the kitchen?"

He's not big on physical touch when he's recovering so he's not the type to ask for you to lay with him. But he likes your company and likes listening to you speak "Y/n..can you stay until I fall asleep?" he rests for a few days at max, he doesn't force himself back to duty, but he doesn't wait long either.

︵‿︵‿୨♡ Ｋｙｏｊｕｒｏ ♡୧‿︵‿︵

He hates worrying you, so at first, he downplays how serious his injuries are whenever he's hurt. "No no y/n it isn't as bad as it looks...I feel fine!!" he says as he's covered in wounds. He lets you take care of him, and he listens to you and rests when you tell him to. He's a mix of clingy and able to take care of himself. He likes it when you give him the attention and will ask for help when he needs it but if you're busy or you just can't help at the moment, he will take care of himself.

He's very good with communication and will tell you how he feels and what he needs. He only downplays his injuries to avoid worrying you, but he'd never just brush you off and tell you he's fine. He gives you constant reassurance though "I promise y/n I will be okay do not worry" he goes back to duty about a week or two of recovering and he is sure not to overwork himself and takes breaks if his body needs it.

︵‿︵‿୨♡ Ｓｈｉｎｏｂｕ ♡୧‿︵‿︵

Since she's a doctor, you're really just there for moral support while she's recovering. She disinfects and bandages and cleans her own wounds, "Y/n dear can you pass me the medicine on the top shelf?"

She's back on her feet in no time because of how well she takes care of her wounds, but she understands that you're worried and tries to reassure you "Y/n I'm fine it was just a scratch"

I feel like he's a big sleeper and he just sleeps all day when he's injured. You have to remind him a lot to do certain things and when to take his medicine so he can recover. "Wait...when do I take my medicine y/n...?" He's a good listener and does what you tell him to do and rests for however long you tell him to.

I can't imagine him leaning on you too much, but he'll ask you if he needs you, he'd honestly just prefer to do it himself. "Oh...hey y/n I was just changing the bandages on my arm"

He doesn't get to spend a lot of time with you so when he's home recovering, he's constantly asking you to lay with him, to spend time with him etc. "Y/n? will you come lay with me?" he definitely would let you take care of him he absolutely loves how well you take care of him.

He wouldn't force himself back to duty but it's always in the back of his mind. Since he's the strongest the Hashira he's worried sick about everyone else "What if they need me and I'm not there?" you assure him that they'll be okay without him for a while, but it doesn't really make him feel any better and the whole time he's recovering it's in the back of his mind.

he was so tired of slaying demons that he didn't hear you say “can you watch over (c/n)?”

as he went drift to sleep he felt you getting close to him

he was expecting a “hello my love lets sleep together” but he got a “yoriichi where’s our child?!”

he got up so quick that his back cracked

he looked at you and asked why were you asking him and you said that he was supposed to watch over since you were cooking something and (c/n) was not behaving

you were panicking because you didn’t know what to do

you’re still cooking and if you went to look for (c/n) your lunch might get burnt so you left that job to yoriichi

now you're panicking and cooking which is not a great combo for you! so you ended up burning yourself once

good thing he found his child before you kill him with chopsticks

you two were sleeping together with your child in between the both of you

when you shifted your body towards mitsuri you knew there was something missing

so you woke up and saw mitsuri literally next to you

you thought you had squished your baby with your body causing you to scream

and causing mitsuri to scream

and causing the baby to cry

you instantly go get to pick your baby which is near mitsuri’s closet leaving a confused mitsuri on your futon

as you calmed down your child you looked at her and she was looking at you confused

you explained to her that you thought that you squished you baby and that's why you screamed

you two ended up cuddling

that's when you both decided that the baby starts sleeping on its designated bed

you were grocery shopping and sanemis home with your child

he was watching (c/n) play with its toys so he just let them do its thing

then he remembered that he needed to clean his katana because he's a clean freak sometimes

so he kinda forgot that he had a child to look after

when you went home you saw sanemi with wet hair so you assumed he took a bath with your child

but then you didn't saw (c/n) anywhere so you asked your husband “wheres (c/n)?”

his eyes widened and you knew he didn’t know

he tried laughing it off and then sanemi ran outside where your child was

when you catched up to him, you saw your child

who just got sunburnt

it was very obvious that it got sunburnt

so when you tried to pick them up they cried

you cut some aloe vera since you also have sensitive skin and rubbed it at your child

when your child drifted to sleep, you began scolding your husband

t. kamado (aged up)

it was a daddy daughter/son date for the two of them

of course you were fine with it since your 4 year old child didn’t get to spend time with their father

so when they got home they saw you sleeping

they didn’t want to disturb you so they showered quietly and slept next to you

when you woke up in the middle of the night you saw tanjiro but you didn’t see your child

you had to say tanjiro 7 times for him to wake up he did not woke up to you saying tanjiro, he woke up because you covered his nose

he was confused and said that she was besides you

when you told him that they were not there he got up and looked for them

it didn’t take long since tanjiro has a keen sense of smell but that didn’t stop him from overthinking that a demon got his child

when he got back he told you that they were just sleepwalking and went back to sleep

First Kisses With the Hashira

Includes: Gyomei Himijima, Tengen Uzui, Sanemi Shinazugawa, Obanai Iguro, Giyuu Tomioka, Kyojuro Rengoku, Mitsuri Kanroji, Shinobu Kocho Synopsis: What would your first kiss with the Hashira be like? {I did not include Muichiro even though this was mainly fluff} warnings: kisses! so many kisses! A little suggestive in some parts, but only if you squint, very wholesome and fluffy!

Gyomei Himejima

Gyomei is super tall, so you practically had to – with red cheeks – ask him to bend down so you could kiss him

When you managed to place your lips on his Gyomei was pleased to find how gentle you were

Gyomei found himself selfishly thinking for once

He lifts you onto the table, trapping you with a muscled arm on either side of your thighs. He groans as your lips work against his. Gyomei might not be able to see, but he could feel right where you wanted him to be. He was leaning over you, his massive back completely obscuring you from view. “You are making me break concentration.” He finally mutters out, his eyes squeezed shut. “You are dangerous YN,” He pauses, opening up his glazed white eyes to meet yours. He knew exactly where you were even without sight. “The way my heart beats in my chest for you… is dangerous.”

Tengen Uzui

Tengen thinks you’re joking at first, clapping you on the back like one of his pals with a loud guffaw while you both sit at a table.

He realizes he's made a grave mistake only after your bottom lip starts to tremble.

Your cheeks are flushed and tears are running down your face.

Tengen leans into your eyesight, an apologetic grin making his face scrunch hilariously. You roll your eyes and huff out a laugh. “There’s my girl,” Tengen’s grin widens, then after a small beat, his brows furrow. “Are you sure?” He’s asking you so gently and in a way like he’s unsure of himself. You nod and that’s all the conformation Uzui needs before he’s cupping your face, guiding your mouths together in a sweet, yet passionate kiss. His face twitches with emotion when you part, a small gasp escaping your lips as you peer into his conflicted magenta eyes. Did he not enjoy it? “I think my wife count just went up,” He states with all the seriousness in the world present on his face. You burst out laughing and hit his shoulder.

“You do not mean that!” You giggle, but he shakes his head and rolls his lips into his mouth. He hums, looking at you with possessive intent. 

“No, I do.”

Sanemi Shinazugawa

Sanemi had just finished a mission, dragging himself through the gates of his main mansion. 

When he sees you, in a tiny lilac-colored apron his brain nearly short-circuits. 

You were so cute – too cute in fact – it was going to kill him one day. 

You shyly presented him with a batch of fresh red bean mochi, twiddling your thumbs as he gawked at the ensemble. 

Sanemi sets the plate down, walking toward you until your back is flush against a wall. You nervously glance around, trying to decipher if this was going to be the last thing you ever saw. “Thank you,” His voice is gruff, but his face floods with a deep pink color. He’s covering his face with the back of his arm and you suddenly wish this was the last thing you’d ever see. 

You can’t help yourself as you slowly reach out to grab the back of his neck and pull him into a sweet kiss. He licks at your lips and a smile forms against your mouth. “You taste like red bean mochi,” He smirks. 

“You took a while.”

Obanai Iguro

Obanai was somewhat preoccupied with training as you yelled out his name

He came running up next to you, his head tilted in question as to what you wanted

You quickly peck Obanai on the area of his mask where his mouth should be, stumbling back in amazement that you went through with it. Obanai is equally as shocked, his brows raised and his body stiff. You’re about to turn and leave when he catches your wrist. “Oh no you don’t,” He tuts, yanking you back into his arms. “I think you forgot something.” He pulls down the top edge of his mask until his lips and a bit of his scars are revealed. You revel in how beautiful this man is as he leans down to kiss you deeply. 

Giyuu Tomioka

Giyuu was reading a book with adept concentration. You were slightly annoyed by the fact you came all the way here just to be ignored by this man.

So you crawl over his lap, grab the edge of the book, push it down, and lean over to kiss him

When you break away from this kiss Giyuu’s face is a stark contrast to the once pale skin. His deep blue eyes are wide, lips parted as a trail of spit still connects your mouth to his. He sets his book down – the thought of reading lost to the thought of doing that again with you. His fingertips gingerly touch the skin of his lips once, like he believes it to be a figment of his imagination. “Can we… can we do that again?” He asks, excitedly leaning toward you. 

You roll your eyes and laugh, pushing at his face. “Oh so now you want to pay attention to me?”

Kyojuro Rengoku

Kyojuro is all over the place

He’s the one that first leans into you with too much force, bonking your foreheads together

He’s nervous, excited, and in love. To you that’s all that mattered

Kyojuro rests his forehead against yours, breathing heavier than usual. “YN, can I kiss you again?” He pleads, yearning to make the first kissing experience the two of you share as perfect as possible. You laugh brightly, pecking both of his cheeks and the tip of his nose before nodding your head. Kyojuro couldn’t think about anything else except how lucky he must be to have you in his life. He slowly brings his lips to yours, pressing into you ever so slowly as to not rush like last time. It’s a fiery hot kiss only seconds after the tantalizing brush of his lips. 

Mitsuri Kanroji

Mitsuri didn’t know how to react when you explained that kissing her was something you’d enjoy

She thought you were stunning, prettier than here even – which you had to shut down right away

Mitsuri hadn’t given much thought to acting on her attraction to you, but just hearing you utter the words made her whole mind swim

She’s going into one of her overthinking episodes, squealing about how you shouldn’t kiss her because then she’d want to hold your hand and go on dates with you and-

You grab the sides of her face, bringing your lips to hers. The kiss is mildly awkward at first because Mitsuri is too stunned to move, but once she melts into your embrace and your bodies move in tandem, it turns into something beautiful. Her lips are soft and remind you of eating a strawberry. You’re the one to part ways first, leaving her breathless as she maintains eye contact with your lips. “I think I’d like to do that again…” She blurts. 

Shinobu Kocho

Shinobu was tactful and precise about when you two would bump into each other

She planned the perfect time to finally ask you to share in some intimacy with her

So when you popped up at the Butterfly Mansion battered from a training session, you could say you threw more than a wrench in her plans

Shinobu’s bright eyes widen when she sees you limping inside the infirmary. “Y-YN?” She assesses the situation, rushing to gather material to dress your bruises. You don’t have to say much before she’s rubbing salve into your shoulders and down your back. Her hands and cold, but they feel wonderful as she works the sap into your muscles. “What did you get yourself into?” She grunts from behind. You chuckle softly, wincing at the ache spreading across your stomach. You don’t know what takes over your mind, but you lean back into Shinobu. She’s surprised but adjusts to hold you regardless. “What am I going to do with you?” She sighs.

“Put me out of my misery?” You suggest, earning a jab from her into your sore ribcage. You groan but then a sly smirk works its way onto your lips. “I think for being such a good patient I deserve a reward.” You tease. What you don’t expect is Shinobu to purse her lips and while her cheeks fade to a pink she leans down to kiss your lips. 

“Is that good enough?” She huffs, glancing away. 

“I’m not sure, I was kind of hoping for some mochi,” You giggle. Shinobu glares at you. “On second thought, it appears there would be nothing sweeter than another few thousand kisses from you…” That’s all it takes for Shinobu’s lips to be back on yours. A sweet, simple, and lovely kiss. If it weren’t for the way she worked the salve into your muscles, you might’ve mistaken her kisses to be what healed you the next day.

hey so how do you think Tanjiro, and mitsuri would deal with a crush on someone who they’ve known for an entire year at this point. Crush is eating food and casually just says, they’ve never said stuff like this to these two before, “Has anyone ever told you that you have a very beautiful soul? Cuz you should hear that more often if not”. (You can decide if they’re alone or not.( Anyone else around who teases is getting a bowl of rice tossed at them casually while crush sits there with zero f-ucks given, “Sounds like someone’s jealous”, and being snapped at for the bowl of rice throw and accusation 😂). ?

Before your voice broke through with quiet earnestness, the table conversation had been light-hearted, full of pleasant laughing and clinking chopsticks.

“Has anyone ever told you that you have a very beautiful soul? Because you should hear that more often if not.”

Tanjiro felt the words strike him like a blow to the chest. Steam from his rice bowl curled up into his shocked face as his chopsticks froze in midair. He had previously been described as kind, industrious, and hard-working, but the way you stated "beautiful soul" made it seem as though you had peeled right through his smile and into the core of his character.

Tanjiro was stunned for a moment, his ears blazing red, his head cocked slightly, not knowing how to react to the pounding of his heart.

“Wha—what?” Zenitsu squawked from across the table, pointing between you and Tanjiro like he had just witnessed a forbidden romance unfold. “Who even says stuff like that out loud?!”

Then, before he could get too dramatic, a bowl of rice flew across the table with perfect accuracy. It rebounded off Zenitsu's shoulder, leaving his haori with a white grain streak. With no qualms, you sipped your tea as if throwing rice in the middle of a meal were the most natural thing in the world and remarked, "Sounds like someone's jealous."

Zenitsu gaped. “J-jealous?! Me?!”

"No Zenitsu, maybe Inosuke?"

"Pfft! Why me?!" The innocent Inosuke muttered, making you laugh.

"(Y/n)!" Though the redness in his face revealed the fluster underneath, Tanjiro gasped in embarrassment. He glanced from you to his whining pal. “You can’t just throw food like that!” He scolded as if he was an older brother, despite the blush on his face that made you pinch his cheek.

“Sure I can,” you replied, unfazed.

Amidst the chaos, Tanjiro covered his mouth with his palm to conceal the smile that was pulling at his lips. Your words had stuck in his chest like a hot fire, and you had no idea what they had done to him. He kept playing them over and over again: beautiful soul.

And deep down, he wanted to believe you meant it.

With Mitsuri, meals were always lively, boisterous, and incredibly filling, like celebrations. Your casual tenderness pierced right through the noise as you talked, her cheeks puffing from eating on her third skewer.

“Mitsuri… has anyone ever told you that you have such a beautiful soul? Because you do. And if no one’s said it enough, you deserve to hear it more often.”

The compliment hit her harder than any battle ever had. Mitsuri's eyes were as round as the moon when she froze, chopsticks lingering. She nearly dropped her food because her heart leaped so abruptly. She had heard compliments on her strength, her appetite, and her hair before. But a beautiful soul? That was the one quality she had always hoped someone would find admirable in her.

“Y-you mean that?” she stammered, voice cracking under the weight of her joy. Her hands fluttered uselessly, as if trying to catch her racing heartbeat. “A beautiful soul…? You really think so?”

“Tch.” Sanemi, seated nearby, scoffed loud enough to snap her out of her daze. He shoved rice into his mouth like it had insulted him first. “Beautiful soul my ass. You’re just buttering her up so she doesn’t eat all your food.”

Before he could blink, a bowl of rice slammed into his shoulder from across the table. He hissed, and the grains clung to his hair and uniform, slipping down.

“Sounds like someone’s jealous,” you said smoothly, grabbing another dumpling without even looking his way.

Sanemi slammed a hand on the table, fury sparking. “The hell did you just say?! Jealous?! Like I’d—” He broke off, glaring daggers as if daring you to repeat it.

However, Mitsuri was not listening to him. She was too preoccupied with putting her palms to her red cheeks and laughing wildly. The excitement in her chest was so intense that it almost ached, but she accepted it, embraced it, and allowed it to illuminate her entire body.

Beautiful soul. The words reverberated in her mind, each time becoming more delightful. She knew she’d never forget the way you said it—soft, steady, like you truly believed it.

No matter how loudly Sanemi cursed, her smile would not go away, and she continued to steal glances at you for the rest of the evening.

Part 2- Tengen, Muichiro and Mitsuri

Tengen Uzui

“It has to be flamboyant,” he insists, though you gently remind him that you’re not looking for extravagance. He settles for something simple — a quiet festival just outside town, masks optional, fireworks promised.

Despite his usual flair, he tones it down for you. His kimono is elegant but not showy, and he walks beside you, letting your hand rest lightly in his.

He compliments you often — but not loudly. “You look dazzling,” he murmurs just as a lantern passes, casting gold over your face. “Even more than the lights.”

He lets you pull him toward the candy stand, toward the dancers, toward the quiet footbridge where the fireworks begin.

When the sky lights up in bursts of crimson and silver, he doesn’t look up — he watches your awe-struck expression instead.

Later, he lets you lean into his side as the crowds thin. “You didn’t think I could do simple, did you?” he asks teasingly. But when you reply with a soft, “Thank you for trying,” he’s quiet for a long moment.

Then, with a smirk but eyes a little too sincere: “Anything for you.”

Muichiro Tokito

He forgets the word “date” halfway through the invitation and just says, “Will you come walk with me…?” like it’s the only thing that matters. Then spaces out before you could answer...

You meet under the tall trees just past the estate — a quiet trail where the leaves are beginning to turn.

He barely speaks at first, just hums softly at everything you say and tilts his head at the sky, content. But he slows his pace every time you fall behind, never letting you trail far.

At one point, you mention something silly — like seeing a squirrel — and he smiles. “That’s a good reason to stop.”

You bring him a small bento box. He eats carefully, grateful. “Did you make this?” he asks, surprised by the care in every bite.

“I think I like this,” he says suddenly, brushing his fingers against yours as you sit on a rock by a stream. “Being with someone like you.”

He plucks a wildflower and tucks it behind your ear before forgetting he did it at all.

But when he glances back and sees it still there, he smiles again. A little more sure this time.

Mitsuri Kanroji

She’s the one who asks you out — very earnestly, very nervously. “Do you want to go to the tea garden with me? I heard it’s beautiful in autumn!”

She arrives in soft pink and green layers, clearly having taken extra care. She’s holding a handmade charm — “For luck,” she says, pressing it into your palm.

At the tea house, she asks a million questions: “What’s your favorite sweet?” “Do you like cats or dogs better?” “Would you ever want to learn to make mochi?”

She listens to every answer like it’s the most important thing in the world.

She gasps when you compliment her hair. “Really? You think so?” she says, hiding her smile behind her sleeve.

You end up feeding koi fish by the pond, laughing when they splash too close. She takes your hand without thinking and doesn’t let go. You don't either.

As the sun sets, she turns to you, cheeks flushed. “I hope this isn’t too forward, but… I had the best time. I’d love to do it again. With you. Only you.”

When you agree, her whole face lights up. “Yay!!” she beams — and then immediately covers her mouth. “Sorry! I didn’t mean to yell!”

But as you smile genuinely at her, her heart melts a little more.

||Being a Hashira has always been tiring. So when you had arrived at the Swordsmith Village, you had finally felt at peace and less overwhelmed. Especially when you found their famous hot springs.

“Can you make it feel like home if I tell you you’re mine?” -Lana Del Rey

The sound of your feet hitting the stone steps below you could be heard as well as your soft humming. A few moments ago, Ms. Kanroji had visited you, informing you of the hot springs that they had there. You told her you would join her later on and now you were heading up there. Until you heard loud yelling coming from the top of the stone staircase. A sad voice that sounded exactly like Mitsuri’s. 

“Y/N!!” Before you could comprehend what had happened, Mitsuri grabbed hold of your shoulders with visible tears in her eyes. Suddenly, she quieted her voice, glancing over at where the staircase led, the hot springs.

She looked over at you, even more tears now as she attempted to speak quietly, despite her nervous and shaky tone. “Y/n!! The young boy up there wasn’t talking to me! He ignored me completely! I’ve never been ignored like that before!” She whisper yelled over to you, trying her best to make sure that whoever was up there wouldn’t hear her telling you this.

“What boy?” You asked curiously, gazing over to the small view of the hot springs you could make out. The moment that slipped out of your mouth, Mitsuri’s hold on your shoulders tightened and she began shaking you rather aggressively. Your head moved back and forth repeatedly as Mitsuri began crying loudly once more.

“Shinazugawa!” She blurted out immediately before quickly taking her hands off your shoulders and covered her mouth. “Shinazugawa..!” She restated now in a hushed voice with small tears still brimming her eyes.

“Sanemi’s here!?” You exclaimed, jumping back slightly considering you never got along well with the white haired hashira. If he was there, you were keen on changing your mind and skipping the bath in the hot springs.

“No, No! His brother.” She corrected while now holding onto your hands tightly. 

You tilted your head slightly in confusion, from what you knew, Sanemi never mentioned having a brother. “Well, if you want you can join me in the hot springs so you’ll have someone to talk to.” You offered with a small smile. Mitsuri hastily shook her head.

“Y/n, I can’t go back! That would be so embarrassing if I show up again!” Mitsuri whined before departing from you with a wave, running down the stairs before continuing her loud embarrassed sobbing.

You watched as the pink and greened haired girl slowly disappeared from your line of vision. ‘Sanemi’s already quite rude, hopefully his brother isn’t the same…or worse..’

With a small turn, you continued your way back up the stairs, only very few to go before you made it to the hot springs.

It didn’t take long to find the hot springs. And it also didn’t take long to notice the young boy that Mitsuri had been telling you about. You stared silently for a while, only seeing his back as he was turned the other way. You shrugged, taking off your bathrobe and swiftly hopping in.

The water felt nice, just as you had expected. Although the smell of the hot spring wasn’t as pleasant. But it was fine enough for you to ignore and disregard. Despite the raven haired male not turning around once to acknowledge your presence, it was obvious he knew you were there. Unfortunately, that only managed to create an awkward silence as his back was facing you and he practically hadn’t moved an inch since you got in.

You slowly bit your bottom lip. If you chose to stay silent, the awkwardness would only get worse. But if you said something, you were sure he would ignore you as he did Mitsuri. And that really wouldn’t fail to make you more embarrassed.

Seeking to ignore him being there to make yourself feel less awkward, you continuously averted your gaze anywhere else you could. 

You mentally groaned, deciding it would be better if you at least try to make small talk. Hopefully you wouldn’t end up as Mitsuri did. It wouldn’t be too bad, right?

“You’re Shinazugawa’s brother, right?” You questioned with nothing else to say. The boy suddenly turned to look at you, the hot water swishing ever so slightly. No answer. Just a deadpanned stare coming from him. 

You shifted uncomfortably, awaiting an answer you had a feeling you wouldn’t receive from him. 

“You and your brother don’t seem much alike. You’re much cuter.” You stated with a small closed eyed smile, remembering a day ago in Swordsmith when Mitsuri told you giving a compliment can sometimes help people open up.

No answer. 

A small sweat drop appeared on your forehead as your smile slowly but surely began faltering. Your eyes remained close in fear that if you opened them, that deadpanned state would only harden. 

Yeah, you were right. I mean, you couldn’t keep your eyes closed forever. You opened them a few moments after, the same stare he had on you before not fading in the slightest. The only thing different was the small shade of red on his cheeks.

Your eyes squinted, inspecting him more to see if you could at least determine why he wasn’t speaking. Either he was just as ill-mannered and impolite as his older brother, or he had a reason for ignoring you and Mitsuri. 

After all, the both of you were Hashira’s. It wasn’t every day you got ignored. Especially by someone in a lower rank of the corps.

‘Oh.’ You finally determined after a small while of staring back at him intently. ‘He’s nervous?’

His nervous demeanor only got worse the moment he realized you were staring at him without looking away. 

“Are you nervous? You don’t have to be.” You finally spoke again, another small smile showing on your lips while you moved into a more comfortable position.

Genya’s face was quick to turn into a darker shade of red as his eyes focused on something else instead of you. Of course, he wouldn’t admit something like that. Especially to a Hashira that was the same age as him.

“How would you like to join me for dinner? That way I could learn more about you. I really didn’t expect a fellow hashira to have a brother the same age as me. It would be nice to make a new friend.” You ranted on, the new smile on your face not disappearing once. 

Ignoring a hashira had been one thing. But declining a nice offer from one was a completely different thing. None the less when the hashira is pretty.

“Are you fine with that?” You heard the boy mutter, now looking in your eyes once more. 

“Mhm!”

After the two of you had stayed in your room together, you began talking endlessly to Genya. He didn’t exactly say much to you, it was obvious he was still nervous.

You didn’t want him to be. You already got him to agree to hang out with you again tomorrow. And genuinely, you had been excited to make a new friend.

In the middle of telling a story while laying on the floor bored, you heard a small laugh come from Genya, making your cheeks heat up in the smallest way. A smile fell on your lips. Progress, right?

Your gaze averted over to Mitsuri who was peeking through a small crack in the door, watching you and Genya get along. She was still quite sad herself she was ignored, but seeing you make a friend your age in the demon slayer corps brightened her mood.

Time for a Taisho Secret!: When Genya noticed you in the hot springs, it wasn’t the first time he had ever seen you before. He had actually first saw you in the butterfly mansion and really wanted to say hi, but felt too embarrassed to do do. Especially since you’re a hashira. (He also heard your conversation with Mitsuri about him and felt really bad about it. When he opened up to you more, he asked you about a way he could apologize to Mitsuri.)

How would the Hashiras react to Kagaya letting (reader) another demon become a demon slayer? They were treated by Tamayo and refuses to hurt humans.

Mitsuri

She treats you like she treats all the other hashira. She's kind and she treats you like a human. She knows that some of the hashira are probably giving you a hard time so she tries to be as kind and caring as possible towards you. She sees you as a human being and she considers you a close friend. However, she was shocked that the master let you fight as a hashira when you're a demon but she trusts the masters words and she believes that you won't hurt humans.

Shinobu (spoilers!)

She's a bit skeptical at first. She assumed you wouldn't be a hashira for long if you refused to eat humans but as she got to know you she started to get close to you and even call you a close friend. She opened up to you about her sister and talked to you about why she hated demons. She asked you if she could run some experiments on you so she could understand why you were able to survive without human blood. She trusts you with her life and she defends you whenever one of the other hashira give you a hard time.

Giyu

He doesn't really care. He doesn't have a reason to care honestly. If the master thinks you can be trusted then you can be trusted that was his only thought when you became a hashira. He avoided you like he did most of the other hashira but he didn't push you away and wasn't rude to you whenever you tried to talk to him. He found himself enjoying the small conversations he had with you and even started to think of you as a friend.

Obanai

He doesn't like you. He's cold and rude to you and insults you at any chance he gets. He doesn't think you should be a hashira and thinks you are nothing but a traitor whose going to snap one day and try and attack someone. You tried to reason with him but it didn't change his view on you. The only reason he didn't try and slay you himself was because the master forbid it. So he just keeps his distance from you but whenever you do interact he's rude and he insults you.

Sanemi

He doesn't like you. At all. He's worse than Obanai when it comes to talking to you. He's very open about how much he hates you and insults you whenever he can. He keeps his guard up around you because he thinks you are just pretending to not want to attack humans and he has threatened you multiple times. You knew he wouldn't actually try and slay you because of the masters orders but you tried making peace with him multiple times and while he kind of calmed down after you trying to make peace with him he still heavily dislikes you.

Tengen

A demon betraying their own kind to fight for humans? He thinks you are very flashy and he trusts that you won't hurt anyone. While he had his guard up around you at first he warmed up to you pretty quickly. He went on missions with you a lot and he introduced you to his wives. Makio was suspicious of you, Hina was skeptical but she was willing to give you a chance if Tengen trusted you and Suma thought you were cool and wanted to know more about you. You made fast friends with Suma and Hinatsuru but it took Makio a little longer to warm up to you.

Muichiro

He doesn't really care cause he knows he's going to forget about you. He forgot about you and when he saw a demon wearing a corps uniform he immediately pulled his sword out and started to question you. When you explained to him who you were he relaxed himself and apologized then continued on his way. He forced himself to remember that you weren't a threat so he could avoid hurting you. Even if you would heal yourself it would still be against the master's orders if he hurt you so he tried to talk to you frequently so he wouldn't forget you. And at first he only talked to you to avoid forgetting you but slowly started to talk to you because he genuinely enjoyed talking to you and spending time with you.

Kyojuro

At first, he wasn't the biggest fan of it. He did what the master told him to and treated you with respect and was friendly with you but that's about it. He understands why the master wants to try and have a demon on the corps side but he just can't see it working out. With all the corps members getting injured on missions and all the blood and stuff, you're bound to snap. He stopped thinking like this once he went on a mission with you. He got to know you and started to realize that your actually not that bad and he enjoyed the time he spent with you on the mission. But he still kept his distance from you.
