“Well, I’m off,” Hoseok said, grabbing his bag. “Go to bed soon, okay?”

Miyeon nodded, turning her attention back to the mirror. It was 2am, all the other member have left. Miyeon stayed to practice a particular difficult part. The music continued playing as she worked up a sweat. Everything went well until the dance break.

She screamed in frustration as she kept messing up those moves. Pausing the music, she took a deep breath. She was on the verge of tears, but she needed to get this down.

‘Let’s try it step by step first.’ She thought, looking at herself in the mirror. That went okay, she knows the steps. They she sped up slightly. It went well, until she tripped over her feet. Tears leaked out her eyes as she dropped to the floor.

‘I’m such a failure! Why can’t I do this? Why did I ever think I could do this?’

Her bawling into her hands was so loud she didn’t notice the door being opened.

“Miyeon?” Hyunwoo’s voice echoed through the room, making Miyeon lift her head. She stared at him through the mirror, tears blurring her vision. Hyunwoo walked up to her and sat down beside her, putting a hand on her shoulder for comfort. “What’s wrong?”

Miyeon took a few deep shaky breaths, trying to speak. “I can’t do it.”

“What can’t you do?” Hyunwoo asked.

“This!” she gestured vaguely. “Dancing. It’s too difficult.”

“Listen,” he said, putting his arm around her, pulling her against him. “Do you know how much you’ve improved since No.Mercy? You were a mess-”

“Thanks,” she interrupted him with a chuckle.

-”But look at you now, you’re doing so well! We’re all so proud of you.”

Miyeon lifted her head to look at Hyunwoo. “No, I’m not. If I was I’d be able to do this part.”

“Miyeon,” Hyunwoo said more sternly, grabbing her hands. “You need to realize how good you are. You need to start believing in yourself. You have come so far! It just takes time.”

She frowned. “It took me a year to get even remotely mediocre! Oppa, filming is in a week! How am I supposed to do this in time?”

“I am going to spend every free minute we have with you, practicing. I’m going to help you get this down, okay?” He said, petting her head.

She nodded. “Thank you, oppa,” she wiped away her tears.
