Six talented singers come together to perform a traditional Croatian song and wholeheartedly sing a song from their culture. A song that should have been a glory. A song that should have sailed into the final. A song that was a catastrophic failed. A song that was so full, yet so empty at the same time.
I was stunned. I had heard it in the national final, and in the rehearsals and expected it to be an easy qualifier. The actual performance in the semi-final was so wrong. I don't know if it was that they gave too much or too little. Was the music too overwhelming? That moment in the middle of the song where there was no singing was suicide, and something needed to happen there.

Mižerja - Klapa s Mora
Semi final 1
Song 4
When they announced that the entry would be some sort of traditional singing, I had very little hope for the country. I was wrong; Miserja is a song of beauty. It has nice harmonies and pleasant sounding voices. The film clip itself is endearing and simple. It's not difficult to watch, and it allows you to watch and enjoy the song without any inconvenience or pretense.
Finalist: Deserves to make the final. I'll tick yes for this one.
Clapity clap clap Klapa
The Croatians have decided to inject some culture into the Eurovision by sending a local style of music called Klapa. They have brought together six men who are experts in the klapa style of music and a song called Mizerija will be performed on Croatia's behalf. The group was called Super Klapa, but have decided to be called Klapa s Mora (Klapa from the sea) are made up of:
First tenor – Marko Škugor
Second tenor – Ante Galić
First baritone – Nikša Antica
Second baritone – Leon Bataljaku
Bass – Ivica Vlaić
Bass – Bojan Kavedžija
[Yes, I think any name with Klapa in the title sounds like a fierce genital disease].
I am not the first person to highlight the fact that Croatia has been in the Eurovision toilet since 2007. This on the other hands is really good. Six men who can sing will be taking to the stage in Malmo and whatever happens, I think they will go to the final.
I suppose another thing I shouldn't mention is the first and second tenor appear seem to be singing to one another. In these modern times, maybe they can hold hands as well as the tall one giving the bald one a kiss on his forehead when their done.
