The mv is about Mizuki looking back at her time with Niigo, her present self looking back at the past, and her being in different outfits to denote the time shes looking back at.
Mizuki at the start I believe is her during the Mizu5-Ena5 break as she's in her 3rd anni fit + shes lying on the floor with the flower which represents herself, surrounded by clothes implying shes on the floor of her room, hiding away from everyone. The lyrics also refer a good day being ruined by the rain, which then Mizuki flickers to her middle school self, she had been outed, "cast into the rain". Also Rain is used to imply Ena typically, which makes this section even more soul crushing I think.
We then see a locket containing NIIGO, which Mizuki holds very dear to herself, her present self remembering the pain she has endured
"we seek umbrellas to stand shelter to the rain" I think is also another nod back to Mizu5 with her coming onto the rooftops, but also to use as her in Mizu7 leaving the house in her train.
We have more of Present-Mizu looking back at previous events. I'm seeing the drawings being cut off as Mizuki is not able to look at her friends at the time, afraid of what they'd truly think of her being trans, not being able to face what is in front of her
The other Niigo members are also calling back to past events: Kanade = Kana1, Mafuyu = Mizu4, Ena = Mizu2/Ena5, all events in which Mizuki helped her friends, or they helped her.
"Those smiles are your fault" being how Mizuki has been helping her friends herself, her present self calling to her past to get her to understand her value to the people around her, and that she can be true to herself and happy. "I wish for your happiness, I dread the inevitable end" I think being again Mizu5, the visual of Mizuki falling plays on scree, disrupting her happiness and living miserably. I also think it can be seen as Niigo ending when everyone is saved. Will they all still be friends when the connection of suffering is over?
This illustration with the dove, ofc meaning peace which Mizuki has found, with her past self-hatred behind her going into the light (dying?). its just a beautiful scene. Trans joy...
I think this section is an amazing way of getting the idea of self reflection across, looking into the flower (herself) and into the mirror, finally seeing herself despite everything.
This part of the MV is clearly Ena5, the hand reaching out to Mizuki crying in her uniform. the lyrics talking about being glad to meet someone, likely meaning nightcord as they helped her accept herself. Though it can also be about her present self looking back, happy she had to go through all she did to come to where she is right now. A lot of this section of lyrics also going over "wanting to save you" and "what ifs" on being abandoned, I think also can be referring to her past self.
When you look back on yourself, you can think of things going better or worse, how things could have been changed or gone differently but in the end everything lead you to where you are. even if its painful, or you feel selfish, clinging on anyway. The montage I think, beautifully encapsulates it.
Mizuki closes her eyes, thinks about her past again, and her friends' faces as they helped her. This time, for how the moment was, no misremembering or feeling sorry for herself. Opening her eyes in the present to march ahead into her future
Mizuki stands now bathed in light, removed from her past, fully able to enjoy herself. we have zooms of her dress, made by herself, zooming on the scissors. I think this visual is particularly powerful, the dress she wears, made herself, standing so everyone can see her. The tools she used to craft it on her belt, the tools to make her current self still with her to shape her future. She looks proud and happy as she goes outside, ready for what comes next.
A slow pan of Mizuki and her friends, the image that was in her locket at the start of the music video. Thanking them for helping her become the person she is now, to be happy and free. Also Ena leaning on Mizuki's shoulder to represent how close they now are, being able to live together in harmony (shown again in Mafuyus trained which is well expained here)
the lyrics apologising for being weak and selfish, Mizuki apologising to her past self for her shortcomings affecting her past. Being selfish meaning for her to keep her secret even if it was only harming her more, being weak for not telling her friends who now sit with her smiling and accepting.
The final scene being Mizuki, in her present. Looking back at us, likely looking at her past as her eyes are closed. Wishing for her happiness which she now gets to live.
