TDoR- A LGBTQ+ History Lesson
The First Transgender Day of Remembrance On November 20, 1999, the first Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDoR) took place. This was organized by activist Gwendolyn Ann Smith to honor the life of Rita Hester. A trans woman of color murdered the year before.
