Hi, everyone! This is a side blog dedicated to organizing a digital cup sleeve event for Michael Jackson’s birthday on August 29, 2026. This post has a bunch of information to learn more about the event.

WHAT IS A CUP SLEEVE EVENT?

WHO AM I?

I’m Maddy! My main blog is @yesmaddyposts , and I have been a fan of MJ’s music since I was a child with a recent deeper interest in his career thanks to the Michael biopic!

My fandom background is mainly in K-Pop. I was one of the admins for the Twitter account Armyween2020 , a month-long collection of online events for BTS fans to celebrate Halloween during the COVID-19 lockdown. We hosted online movie nights, game nights, giveaways, and more for Halloween in 2020 and 2021, and the winter holiday season in 2020, which we called ARMYWEEN and ARMY WINTER respectively.

WHY A DIGITAL CUP SLEEVE EVENT FOR MICHAEL JACKSON?

I love community! I think the MJ fandom is so big and growing daily with social media connecting more people than ever. This would be a fun way to bring fans together to celebrate our love for Michael Jackson in a positive, no-pressure way.

It is digital rather than in person to be more accessible to people, and also because I don’t have the resources to host an in-person event.

WHAT WILL THE EVENT INCLUDE?

I am aiming high for this event! The details are not set in stone but I hope to have primarily free activities for fans, including:

A FREE digital cup sleeve PDF download for fans to print and cut out at home

An online movie night (or marathon?) on 8/29/2026 to watch a Michael Jackson film

A music streaming party using a dedicated playlist of Michael Jackson songs

As well as some optional paid activities too, such as working with a few small businesses / Etsy Shop vendors to create MJ themed merch for fans to purchase if they want

HOW TO HELP

This is a big idea that will take a lot of time. I don’t mind doing it because it would also be a lot of FUN, but I also would need reasonable belief that the audience for an event like this is out there. How do I join the streaming party on Stationhead?

Click on the Stationhead link posted on this blog @/mjjcupsleeve on 8/29/26, then connect your Spotify or Apple Music account to join the party! You can either listen on your default web browser or download the app to your device. No Stationhead account required!

How long is the Streaming Party going on for? Can I join late?

The MJ Cup Sleeve Streaming Party will be from 12 p.m. PST - 3 p.m. PST. Pop in and out at any time!

How do I leave a comment on the station chat?

You will need to make an account to post comments in the station chat. Please keep the chat channel SFW and positive vibes, otherwise the chat will be disabled for the remainder of the stream.

Can I request songs?

Song requests will not be accepted during this streaming party.

Do the streams count towards music charts, such as Billboard?

According to Stationhead’s official website: “As all music streams come directly from your Apple Music and Spotify accounts, every play counts as a stream. For every listener you have, you generate a stream."

Can I still listen to the stream with a free Spotify account?

According to Stationhead’s official website: “No. You will need Spotify Premium or an Apple Music subscription to listen and play music. Apple Music and Spotify both offer free trials for premium accounts, so check what is available in your area."
