Not sure if this has been done already but what if Liu Kang intentionally made Kung Lao win every spar he had with Raiden because he wanted Kung Lao to be champion in mk1? And then he saw Raiden still became champion and Kung Lao’s still “second best” because there were some things that will always stay the same with the old era, whether Liu Kang liked it or not. So when Raiden because his champion, he just rolled with it but he also felt kinda sorry because Kung Lao deserved better. Idk, I’m prolly not going anywhere with this but it’s stuck in my head so here you go.

Raiden
It pains him to see his lover sad and concerned about their troubles and related stuff.
Raiden offers his S/O to take them to a lovely place to change their mood, at first his S/O refused to go due and apologized for “not feeling it today,”
Raiden couldn’t just stand still seeing his S/O sad, so he thought of ways to cheer them. His S/O seems doesn’t want to leave the couch, so Raiden has to move them by himself!
Raiden, With a snap of his finger, the two of them teleported to a place in the sky temple.
The place is magical, it is like a beautiful majestic garden with huge trees and different flowers and roses. The place is so beautiful that it changed Raiden’s S/O mood.
“Wow!! You didn’t tell me about this lovely place!” His S/O muttered.
“I… Kept it as a surprise for you!” Raiden replied.
“For me? Really!” His S/O added, Happily
In mere seconds, Raiden teleported to bring the tea tray and sit with his S/O to talk for a while with them.
“Tell me, why are you sad?” Raiden asks his S/O
“It is just that I feel depressed for no reason at all!” His S/O answered.
“I know what it feels to have depression for no reason at all!” Raiden said,
“You… do?” His S/O muttered in disbelief, his S/O uncontrollably shed a tear, while hiccuping.
“Oh no… Dearest~” Raidden muttered while hugging them,
“Yes, Even Demigods aren’t immune to depression, something they share with mortals” he continued while hugging them.
After calming his S/O, Raiden poured tea for his S/O to drink.
His S/O smiles at him, they took a sip of their tea too. No longer feeling depressed, they give a chuckle, Which made Raiden happy and smile in return.
Shang Tsung
In the middle of his experiments, His S/O came from the door that was behind him and lazily sat on the couch.
“Greetings Luv~” Shang muttered to his S/O
“Hey..” his S/O replied in an annoyed tone.
“Do you want to help me with the experiments?” Shang asked with excitement in his tone.
“Ugh, Not feeling it today,” His S/O replied in an annoyed tone.
“Really? Why is that?” Shang asked, worrying is shown in his tone.
“I’m just sad,” His S/O emotionally muttered, trying the hardest not to cry in front of their lover Shang.
“Then let me enlighten you!” Shang offered with a big smile on his face.
Shang Tsung and his S/O teleported to a lovely yet hidden place on his island. The place was more like a wonderland, a strange place, with flying tea tables and sweets. Colourful plants and places, Strange yet goofy creatures appear here and there. They only say;
“Excuse us but we are late!” Then they disappear.
“Whoaaah! This is so awesome! Shang~” His S/O happily Says
“I’m glad that you liked this place!” Shang smirked,
“Thank you dear for showing me this lovely place!” His S/O thanked him, then sips their tea.
“You are welcome my dear~” Shang replied in a happy tone.
“Th-thank you, Again,” His S/O repeated while shedding a few tears, Shang raise an eyebrow in amazement.
“You are always welcome my dear~” he repeated to his S/O.
“Now! Let us enjoy this moment together my dearest~” He announced,
Mileena
In the rebel camp, Mileena saw her S/O crying, she can’t blame them. Kotal is plotting against her and them, He won’t stop until all the rebels are dealt with.
“Dearest~” Mileena called in her sweet, sultry voice.
“Y-Yes Kahnum?” Her S/O replied while wiping their tears.
“Dearest! Please don’t cry,” Mileena told with the sweetest smile she could ever offer,
“But… Kahnum..” They croaked, and a hard lump in their throats are etching, begging them to gulp.
“I know what kind of harsh reality we are dealing with, but, we must be positive! You can’t anticipate anything either on our side or his side!” Mileena spoke, all her words are coated with wisdom. Something rare comes from Mileena, the irrational, Crazed Clone.
“Kahnum… as wise as always~” her S/O happily remarked
“Thank you~” Mileena thanked with a big smile on her face.
“I have a story to tell you,” Mileena told,
“You know that I wasn’t always the wise, honest, and kind one in all of the outworld..” Mileena continued,
“I’m a clone of royalty. I’m Kitana’s clone, Life isn’t kind to me but, I met you!” Mileena spoke, sitting near her S/O to talk with them.
“I met the most kindest and loving person and that is you!” Mileena admitted,
"No one is gonna tear us apart, Nor Kotal, Raiden, or anyone!” Mileena promised,
“Wow… Kahnum! I never thought that you are gonna say something like this!” Her S/O chuckles,
“I never thought too!” Mileena admitted,
Mileena and her S/O kept talking and talking, plotting against Kotal to win the outworld throne again.
Skarlet
Skarlet was sad as well when she saw her S/O sad too, her S/O is about to cry, She decided that she will lighten up the mood for her S/O. She thought of ways to make her S/O happy, and that is magic tricks!
Skarlet uses her blood magic to make her S/O happy, She made funny faces made of her blood magic floating near her S/O, unlike most people, Her S/O doesn’t see her magic as disgusting or repulsive. They always admire it and tell Skarlet that her magic is unique!
As soon as her S/O saw the funny faces they laughed hard, they laughed so hard that they shed a few tears of joy.
Skarlet, On the other hand, she is happy because she made her S/O happy, She doesn’t like it when her S/O is sad, But now, her S/O is very happy, and Skarlet is pleased to hear her S/O's laughter.
Kabal
As same as others MK Krew who doesn’t like to see their S/O sad, Kabal never likes to see his S/O Sad. His significant other, The love of his life.
So, Kabal dashed to his S/O, the moment he came to them. They started to cry, Kabal stuttered and then asks them why they are sad
“Oh n-no no no!” Kabal said in a hurried tone, He came near them and hugged them. His S/O sniffed and hugged back.
“Don’t cry sweetheart,” He said in a soft tone, as he gently caressed his S/O face and wiped their tears.
“*Sniff* I’m …. I’m just sad..” his S/O replied after they sniffed.
“It is okay,” he muttered softly, as he still caressed his S/O face.
An idea popped into Kabal’s mind, How about he carries his S/O like a bridal style then they both run around the city, Without any words, Kabal Carries his S/O in a bridal style and takes a dash around the city, But he decided he doesn’t want this journey to end, while carrying his S/O into a bridal style and running using his powers, He stopped at a lovely cafè, He want there to order cake and coffee.
“Two White Chocolate mochas and two cheesecakes please!” Kabal ordered, then he paid for his order
After receiving the order, he and his S/O sat in a lovely atmosphere near a window, His S/O mood changed to 180 degrees. They started to smile and enjoy their time.
Both of them started to sip their coffee, and both talked at the same time
“Delicious coffee!” Both said at the same time,
“Thank you, Kabal~” His S/O thanked him, then they kiss his cheek
“You’re welcome dearest~” Kabal muttered, Then took another sip of his coffee.
After drinking and eating in the cafè, Kabal carries his S/O bridal style again to “trip” around the city they live in.
Nauticas but they have gold and silver nails.
Fun Facts:
- Geras count as a Nautica due to him being the Nautica blueprint.
- Geras is the only Nautica that can switch between gold and silver. But he likes gold the most.
- Shinnok Zealots always have sharp nails.
Quan Chi Headcanon
If you have noticed, he moves his hand in a particular way in his fighting posture. He also does that on a daily basis. You can see that his hand movements are as if he’s ready to cast a spell due to practicing sorcery for centuries.
Do you have any headcanons about Mileena and Shang Tsung and how’d they interact? I really wish NRS would show more interactions and scenes of them one day 😭 it’s a missed opportunity.

Oh Mileena, miss "I have both an inferiority & superiority complex" herself. She was always trying to "prove" herself to everyone around her, but especially to the two father figures in her life (Shao Kahn and Shang Tsung)
She had to show that she was better than Kitana and that she was better than all of the other clones that came before her. She is the best, and she would show everyone that. If not, would they throw her away and start anew? Would they call her a monster just like her "sister" did?
Since Shang Tsung made her, she would constantly be aware of the way he analyzed her. Did he see her as his masterpiece, or was he planning on ways to make improvements for the next clone? She had to show him that she couldn't and wouldn't be replaced.
While Mileena had certain insecurities revolving around Shang Tsung, she also found him much more approachable than Shao Kahn. The Kahn was quick to anger and outbursts, while Shang had a much cooler head about things.
Mileena's constant rejection by Kitana puts her in a place of always trying to find new "family" figures in her life. Of course Shao Kahn is her father, there is no question there- but he isn't exactly the most "familial" person. It is no surprise at all to Mileena when her search for found family members makes her realize that she also sees Shang as a sort of father type. She just hopes that he will accept her for who she is- considering that he's the one that made her this way.
I don't imagine Shang Tsung as a very "fatherly" type normally, but I'd like to think that his relationship to Mileena is the most fatherly he gets, since he created her after all.
He believes she sees him as that role too, but he could never actually say anything about that with her being Shao Kahn's "daughter" and all. So it's just kind of an unspoken thing.
However that's definitely not to say that he's very "parental" in the typical way to her. He wouldn't ever show her any kinds of physical affection and he wouldn't give her much guidance on things unless she directly asked him for it.
But on the rare occasion that Mileena may come just to talk and open up to him he would always be an ear to listen (in part to know how she is doing and in part to gather information about others through her. Everyone is a potential enemy to Shang Tsung, he only ever truly looks out for himself so he will take anything he can use as an advantage over others)
In most cases, Shang would leave Mileena to handle her own fights. He designed her specifically to be a weapon of destruction, so she can handle it.
The few times he caught himself feeling protective of her was not when she had physical combat fights, but emotional fights- When others insulted her and tore her down. It was infuriating enough that those people were not only insulting her, but they were insulting him- his work, his creation. But worse was that he also knew how much that those things would always stick with Mileena.
Also he calls her “Princess” more than he calls her by her name because its fuckin cute okay I love it when he does that.
So we know the majority of dudes in MK are either ripped, tol, or both.
Now, imagine them holding a lil' bitty baby in their arms as gently as possible. 🥺
Some probably cooing at their bundle of joy, others rocking them back and forth to comfort them.
