It was about time I revisited this! Had mixed tastings the first couple of times but with either my palate resetting or a little oxygen in the bottle, it’s back to being a top notch pour. Heavy oak for sure but not too much for me and it brings with it some great bold flavors at a well balanced proof. The finish hits a little sharp and bitter but I’m still happy I got a few of these. It doesn’t top the Russell’s Reserve 2002 in my opinion so I also stocked up on those.
