Hello I would like to know if there is any concept art with Marietta from Ladybug:Mini Menace
Hello there! There sure is! You certainly came to the right place! The annoying bit is how Tumblr only lets me go to 10 photos so I'm going have to be picky here. I have some Mini Menace covers. Now, as far as I'm aware, Thomas Astruc drew all of these and I must say he's a very talented artist! (Yes, I can compliment him too). I like seeing his art. And this is technically "not his best" stuff, if you want to go there. Since he's grown a lot since this and he already seemed to be pretty good at reference drawing. All the Mini Menace covers are spoofs on popular comic covers. Of course, I wouldn't expect anything less from someone who started out as a storyboard artist. So anyway, here are some of my favorites:
This next one is a fun one because it hints at Marietta's origins. Originally her father was meant to die and she was supposed to be a vigilante. She seemed to have got her powers, or her inspiration at least, from the necklace that her father died with:
And this next one seems to follow directly after it where she decides to become Ladybug and get revenge on the people who murdered her father. Eventually she was going to become a vigilante:
This one is just cute and I thought it would be fun to share because Miraculous season 4 actually makes a reference to this cover, specifically:
I love this next one the most. It's one of my absolute favorites:
Now this one is extra fun as this hints at the relationship between her and her Chat Noir. See, Marietta's original Chat Noir was supposed to be a mentor figure for her, much like Master Fu. A vigilante before the Ladybug. It looks like in this cover he has discovered her identity and she's trying to deny it but she knows she's been caught. It almost appears as if she's getting scolded:
Here's her using what I imagine is either one of her powers or her gadgets:
And, here, of course is a full-body action pose of Marietta's Ladybug from right when the show was probably picked up. This, I don't believe, was drawn by Astruc, but I could be wrong. But this is where it all truly began, I imagine:
Now, there isn't a whole lot more, but I do have a few more covers saved. Unfortunately there isn't a whole lot on Marietta. She shifts into Marinette very quickly after this, then goes through that "Bridgette" (I put this in quotes not to disrespect it, I actually very much love this name, it just isn't an official name used for her) phase, before coming right back to Marinette.
Thank you for asking about her! I had fun digging through my files! And lucky enough for you I had already organized my files a bit a week before this just to make sure I could find this stuff easier. Come to me any time about the concepts! I'm very happy to talk about them! Hope you're having a wonderful day, afternoon, evening, night, or whatever time it is where you are!
Runaway Assassin AU
Okay so this is just a concept and ANYONE is free to use this, just please credit me and link me so I may enjoy your talent! I’ve seen Maribat fics where Mari leaves Paris of her own volition with the support of family, I’ve seen fics where Damien is stationed in Paris for the Titans or just for Batfam, I’ve seen fics where Mari needs to escape because of a corrupted Chat Noir. But I’ve not yet seen a fic where Damien runs away. I admit, I know more about Dick/Tim due to the animated series from the 90s/00s, than I do about Jason or Damien, but from what I’ve seen of the animated films, Damien has a very hard time being integrated into Bruce’s life and both side attempting at gaining an understanding of the other. This was mostly inspired by this clip, and my heart aches for this pompous little asshole because he’s ten and raised by assassins and he is/can be good but Bruce-and by extension Dick- can’t see it past Damien’s natural shield. And all I can think of is Damien, either 10/11 and just feeling irritated because he’s constantly on edge with his ‘family’. Even if he always proudly claims he’s the heir, the blood son, he can tell from interactions around himself that it holds little weight in his argument. He can see it in the way Dick and Bruce act, how Tim and Bruce act, and even Alfred and Bruce. All are strong, familial bonds between father and son, and yet he cannot sense he forms one with his own father. Well then, what use does he have for remaining there? His mother is gone, his father isn’t exactly warm and welcoming, and his ‘brothers’ know him as hostile and the Demon’s Heir. The only bounds he forms are with animals, so why bother remaining? So he leaves. Possibly with Titus, possibly with Alfred the Cat, but he leaves. He is the grandson of Ra’s Al Ghul, he can survive out in the world. He is not so weak as to require anyone to care for him. Except he does. Who knows what happens, but soon Damien is ragged but stubborn, refusing to be weak and focusing on protecting himself and his dog and or his cat from the dangers around. Perhaps Master Fu finds him, recognizes his potential, and takes him under his wing, unmoved when emotions fly heavy from the child and helping Damien to calm himself. Perhaps Marianne finds him, takes a fiery child that reminds her of a friend she and Fu once had, helping the boy to center his anger through activities, ensuring he grows and becomes more than just those titles people gave him, he doesn’t need to be given titles, he will make and take his own. Or perhaps Tom finds them during a distant delivery, when Damien passes out in the rain in some alley way with only his animal(s) to guard him; of course, the big man helps the poor child off of the street-even going against their policy against of no pets because come on, they guarded their owner!-before taking him back to the bakery. Of course, all three help Damien from his wounds, ignoring his growls and orders to go away, though he’s too weak to truly fight them off, and they soon have him sleeping in a small guest room that was usually the office to calculate their expenses. Maybe Marinette’s Ladybug already, maybe not, but she is 14 so she’s not too much older than him. In any case, I think it would be a unique concept to have Damien be the one to run away from his familial environment and arrive in Paris(or London if we go with Marianne) to find his own version of family.
On the New Year Eve Miraculous ambassador Lindalee Rose posted a New Year greeting on the instagram @/iamlindaleerose.
One of the slides has a new, I suppose, render of Chat Noir:
Which reminds of the recent spoiler from Kuro Neko:
It may have been a nod to Catwalker.
Or it may be a hint to a possible “parallel” scene with Chat Noir to the one above with Catwalker. I’m not expecting anything, but it’d be cool if the episode ends with Chat lending a hand and Ladybug accepting it.
Or it may be just a new render :) Anyway, it looks good, I like it!
Can you draw redraw with this cuties!?

This concept art features Gorgeous Nathan from the gym club (AKA Pre Felix) and Marietta (Or Marinette)!
You have very nice drawings,I like it,Dude!!Very beautiful and creativity.Your drawings are just a masterpiece!!!
Firstly, I must thank you for helping me identify that the dude in this concept is Gorgeous Nathan. I always thought he couldn't be Felix because he seemed different, and it's not just because of the outfit, though that's a heavy reason. I never thought about it being Gorgeous Nathan but that does make the most sense. Also, I must say I very much appreciate you referring to him by his full title. Beautiful. We always appreciate Gorgeous Nathan from the Gym Club. (I will bully this man relentlessly for this title, I swear). For those who don't like using links that they can't be sure where they lead, this is the image anon is talking about:
Anyway, I'm not sure if you were actually asking me to draw them separately or redraw this image. I went with redrawing it. I do have this image and I very much love it more compared to the final product. So I decided to redraw it based on what ended up being the final product and on this sketch version. The final product involves the weird combination of Marinette and "Bridgette" and Felix. There was not much else in the scene besides two people and a car and while I liked the focus on Felix and "Bri" it looked so barren and lifeless somehow compared to all other concept images. That isn't to say the art is bad, of course. The art was very, very good. It just didn't have quite the same life I loved about the other concepts so it's one of my least favorites. Here's them compared side by side:
I quite liked the sketch because of life it had and I wanted to somehow mimic that without people so I decided to add a lot more plant life and hopefully bring more "energy" you could say. I'm not sure I did it justice. I also did some very sloppy coloring because I thought it would be fun. I don't really love the outfit Marietta have so I did my best with what I was provided. That's one of the things I preferred about the final image. I will say I couldn't help myself and added Marietta's necklace even though this isn't quite the Marietta we know because she seemed to have the more Marinette-like bangs.
But here it is... I did my best. I much prefer the original products myself but this was fun. I recommend clicking on it. This image is big so Tumblr makes it look worse. XD
I really had to deconstruct this image. I went through tracing the very basic shapes of it to get the basic idea of the energy then I went to making my own building blocks so I could draw my own style over top of that then it was redrawing it all over again and so forth and so on... I basically drew this image multiple times. Can't say I'm all that thrilled with this one. I actually don't quite like it. But I do try to be honest about my art journey. I am one of those artists who believes it's the fun that's important and I had a whole lot of fun making it. Except Gorgeous Nathan's head. That wasn't fun. Very unfun. You think I would hate his hands but no it was his freaking head. Ironic since that's the stuff I draw the most; heads and faces. I hope you at least like it, even just a little bit. Maybe one day I can draw them again without trying to measure up to someone else's work, I suppose. That's probably what threw me off a lot, that I really wanted to do it justice even though I knew this would be a very simple drawing. Thanks for the request! It was very fun to draw this version of the characters! I also very much like the story this one tells! Also anon, I gotta ask... are you the same anon sending me all the wonderful asks in my inbox? I, of course, appreciate them but it did get me curious! I hope you're having a wonderful day, afternoon, evening, night, or whatever time it is where you are! <3
Hello,do you take requests!?
If yes, then please can you draw Marietta from "Mini menace" and her Chat Noir please!!
I love this version soo much!!
Hello! I actually have drawn Marietta a few times. I really like her too. She's very fun and different. I can never quite get her hair right, though, since I hardly ever draw straight hair and that's hard to get looking lively. But I'll be happy to give her a try again. But by her Chat Noir who do you mean? Because who I believe her Chat Noir is different from a lot of other people seem to think he is. I believe you may be meaning this guy:
But the guy I know as Marietta's Chat Noir, or at least her first, was this kind of creepy fellow here (keeping in mind this was back in the very beginning stages when Chat Noir was originally going to have a role more like Master Fu):
However, there's also a secret 3rd option because for the longest time this other version of Chat Noir was very popular and was mixed and matched with the Marinette we know of now and the Marietta of the past and he has way more images to reference (this ain't even all of them this is just some of my favorites):
Here's a higher quality of the version more considered for Marietta's run most likely and him next to another concept with a more Marietta like Ladybug:
He even had a few gifs but here's the best one:
The point I'm trying to make here is... could you clarify your preference? I personally love all the concepts a lot so I'm happy to do either. Yes, even the slightly creepy older man... though I might give that guy a little bit more flair...
Yesterday I sketched my Ladybug design for my old comic idea I had that was going to be based on the in between concepts of the Ladybug PV and the CGI show we have now. I was going to name it “Here Comes Ladybug” after the awesome rejected theme song for Miraculous that never happened. I have been hiding her away for quite some time just hoping, one day, I would make that comic. Turns out I just couldn’t do it so I may as well show her off. The AU was meant to celebrate the spirit of Miraculous but not be the same because that would be rather boring. If you want to learn more about her, it’s under the cut.
Hi. Here’s a fun fact about me. I adore concepts. If I find a media I enjoy I tend to try and consume as much of that media as I can. This includes concepts. This also means I horde concepts like some weird dragon. Being in the miraculous ladybug fandom I am absurdly lucky because there is so many concepts that just float around that I collect. To the point I have a whole folder of just miraculous concepts. Why the freak do I bring this up? Well... I noticed this post (btw, follow @zoe-oneesama, provided you don’t mind salt. She’s got some great art and a fun comic) talking about Marinette’s disguised miraculous, specifically the goat. You know, those cute twin set pink bow hairpins? For those who don’t remember that here is a pic of Marinette wearing her disguised goat miraculous, monkey miraculous, and bee miraculous.
Or if you want better quality image with all of her other diguised miraculous you can get them here in a reference sheet made by @miraculous-content (follow them for more helpful reference sheets, they’re amazing for putting them together). Well I suddenly realized that not many people know that those are in reference to old concepts of Marinette. Originally a mini pink bow was in her hair and was going to be a main part of her outfit. I remember loving the fact they referenced this in Kwamibuster. That was so cute.
In fact, there’s another concept where a pink hair bow was either worn by Alya also or it was a twin bow idea (similar to the goat) and they worked like those “best friend” necklace things where Marinette wore one and Alya wore the other! Which was super cute but really didn’t fit Alya’s outfit. XD
In case you don’t believe me, for whatever reason...
Just fun trivia I wanted to share since I’ve collected these things over the years and have been hording them like the little gremlin I am, rarely sharing them unless someone brought it up. Well, no more! I’m done not talking about my adoration for the concepts of projects. So here, have Marinette with her pink hair bows and bonus of jet black hair Marinette with gray eyes. Yet again, more evidence that Marinette was the most thought out and best design of all the characters which is frankly hilarious considering Ladybug. Which, make no mistake, Ladybug actually does have other concepts of her that weren’t just footie pajamas. But definitely not as many as her civilian counterpart. Frankly I understand why it isn’t there anymore because it is a bit of an attention getter and kind of draws you away from her face, plus it isn’t needed. But I am sad to see it gone because it’s a cute little way to reference her heroic persona since Ladybug is heavily associated with ribbons which is a thing throughout Ladybug’s conceptual history (and is stupidly important to me for no reason). Tune in next time for the next installment of me talking about things long since scrapped and don’t truly matter but I care a little too much about but that will probably be posted no time soon. : ) Hope everyone has a wonderful day, night, evening, afternoon, or whatever time it is where you are. <3
