Most of Marinette’s class knows about her crush on Adrien

Adrien, Alya, and Lila are basically the new people in the class since the rest already knew each other from previous years (stated in Reflekta)

So it's reasonable why nobody suspects she’s ladybug since she just started to be more confident when she meet Alya on the first day of school, which is when Ladybug appeared.

So that’s why Alya doesn’t suspect (at least for now) since when she met Marinette she was really shy, and afraid.

Kagami thinks that Adrien has a crush on Marinette, since in Frozer when Adrien said he wasn’t gonna change its target she looked at Marinette.

Luka now knows about Marinette’s crush on Adrien.

Nathaniel developed a crush on Ladybug after evillustrator and after that probably a crush on Marc too.

Nathaniel and Alix are best friends

Marinette used to sit alone before Alya.

Marinette was probably so shy and reserved because of Chloe’s bullying over the years

Adrien does not suspect Marinette is Ladybug. He literally has no idea.

The reason why he doesn't consider Marinette is Ladybug is because of the way she acts (acted) around him.

Marinette would've had give Chat Noir a chance if Adrien wasn't in the picture.

Master Fu has visited Adrien’s Mansion and talked to him, so Adrien knows about the same stuff as Marinette.

Marinette is basically the less clueless of the characters since she found out Gabriel was Hawkmoth, even though he got out of that one.

Adrien at the moment has, Marinette’s Lucky Charm, a CD autograph and the Scarf from Marinette (Not counting the Santa hat since he gave it to ‘Santa’)

Marinette is Ladybug in and out of the suit.

Adrien’s mom is been ‘dissappeared’ for a year.

Adrien has only blushed around Ladybug

Alya is the reason why Marinette kept on being Ladybug but Chat Noir is the reason she continued.

Marinette is not a stalker : elaborate

There is a long and short answer to this.

But here is the short one.

A stalker is defined as a person who harasses or persecutes someone with unwanted and obsessive attention.

Marinette has never harassed Adrien or done anything that Adrien would consider unwanted or obsessive.

Do you want to know how for certain we know Marinette isn't a stalker?

Go to Gorizilla, when Marinette and Adrien were being STALKED by his fans. (Wayhem was the only one that apologized about that btw).

Or lets go to Troublemaker, when that camera crew invades marionette’s privacy and Adrien sees all of the photos Marinette has of him. Is he angry or creeped out? No, he actually tells Marinette he is happy she is a fan.

Now the Marinette haters can be like 

“Isn't it creepy she has his schedule on her big schedule?”

We learn that she has her events on there as well, along with other friend related stuff. Marinette is just very organized. Which there is nothing wrong with.

“What about when she made Adrien’s birthday gifts up to his 50th?”

Marinette is a designer and she felt ‘Inspired’. It might seem a bit weird, but I do know people that plan out gifts MONTHS/ Years in advance. Plus, I doubt marinette would actually use those gifts for all of his birthdays, likely just design practice for later.

“What about the statue scene?”

She was acting over the top on purpose. And the hair pluck thing could be argued that since she believed it was not actual hair, that the texture could be used in a design. 

Marinette’s antics are played for over the top laughs but they are not stalker behavior.

I’m not sure how we can link that to the characters or what is the hidden meaning behind all of this so maybe we’ll learn more about it next season 🤔 because knowing ML I doubt they would have chosen a random name without thinking about it or making a hidden pun!!

(3/3) Also curious whether the insane levels of salt thrown at Chat in the English-speaking ML fandom (at least on tumblr and AO3, I know that some other sites, like reddit, have different salt breakdowns) are also prevalent in the French ML fanbase, since I figure that would also be a bit of a barometer of how such behavior is perceived in France in general (at least on specific sites and by specific audiences).

I have to say that I am not too familiar with the French part of the ML fandom. I know one person with whom I’ve discussed plenty of times, and another I very recently met; both of those online.

So I did a quick wee survey and we’re all on the same page. The salt thrown at Chat Noir accusing him of sexual harassment is ridiculously unnecessary and completely unjustified. And believe me when I say I would be the first one to fight any actual sexual harasser.

I don’t know if this was this particular issue you were talking about but that’s what I understood from the ‘insane level of salt’ part.

► My sister watches the show but isn’t as deep into it as I am so she has an ‘outsider’ point of view. When I told her about what was being said, she looked at me with a shocked expression and told me “What? But.. But that’s not even true, that’s totally not what’s happening. People are insane”.

► Other friend French online I asked to is on the same page as me and doesn’t understand where it all comes from; she knows another French in the fandom who thinks the same.

► The French I met recently & asked today about it wasn’t even aware this was an issue people were talking about and was shocked to hear about it. She watches the show with friends of her and it has never been an issue.

► From the couple of times I read through the comments on ML French videos on YouTube for instance, I can’t recall French talking about it or making a big deal out of it.

So I would say that no, that kind of salt is not as much present in the French fanbase. HOWEVER I don’t know more people than the ones I asked so it’s still pretty limited. Still, the fact that outsiders can’t even fathom to see Chat Noir’s behaviour as harassment shows that his behaviour isn’t shocking people and that it’s high time this uncalled salt stops. It’s not helping anyone, least of all salters themselves.

They’re beating the wrong dog. You want to look at sexual harassment in the show? Go for Lila. Go for Gabriel who is purposefully letting the girl hang out around his son, forcing him to model with her while being aware of her actions on him.

I will stop my take on it because I don’t want to feel like I’m repeating what we’ve all seen around but this is the view some French have on this whole issue.
