Ok. So hear me out.

LadyBug, in order to have her healing glamour at the end of every Akuma attack, the glamour takes life source to work. so, Chat Noir’s true purpose is to collect that life source.
In the dead of night, Chat Noir prowls Paris for the “sacrifice”. Usually criminals, human traffickers, drug lords, (something very touchy like assisted suicide or even prisoner execution,) stuff like that. If you’ve ever watched Hell Girl, Alya could help set up a website where people can offers themselves. (Just without the, get my revenge on this person… or maybe do have it cause… darkness) but it’s mostly exclusive and most people of Paris think it’s just a rumor.
Anyhow. With Chat Noir’s power, he collects them and gives the power to Marinette who was granted wisdom to turn it into a food source for Tikki. (Much like how it is for their new powers)
Plagg gets food too, he feeds on the fear and desperation of the victims. He absorbs all the negativity so Tikki can get a purified life. He’s a filter.He still loves cheese tho. It’s not Plagg if he doesn’t.
If we were to drag in that scenario where Chat Noir kills someone for a croissant, the idea I played with is that if he brings Tikki an already pure soul, she will gain immense power in comparison to a filtered out dark soul.
