October 1st: The Battle of the Miraculous (Heart Hunter & Miracle Queen)
Okay yes the last day is on October 1st it was an accident lol
Heart Hunter was the final straw for Chloe Bourgeois. Even though she was told by Ladybug that she should couldn’t be Queen Bee anymore because her identity was revealed to Hawkmoth she still had hopes that she eventually would get the chance to be Queen Bee again. But after watching akuma after akuma battles done without the assistance of Queen Bee she was starting to feel hopeless which Hawkmoth noticed and took advantage of. He carefully crafted a plan that would involved getting Chloe’s parents akumatized so he could manipulate Chloe to joining his side. With her parents fused together as one mad ugly akuma Chloe felt it was her job to help bring them back to normal. Hawkmoth counted on Ladybug to not let Chloe join the battle and the next part of the plan was to retrieve the bee miraculous to give it to Chloe.
He successfully tracked down Master Fu and we got a chance to see Jade Turtle in action. Fu being older and weaker than Hawkmoth, did not stand much of a chance. Hawkmoth also had the help of Mayura and they were able to take hold of the miracle box. Going to Chloe and manipulating her to use the miraculous against Ladybug and Chat Noir was the final step of the plan. Hawkmoth is great at using people’s emotional state to his advantage so to see him prey on Chloe knowing full well he can make her hate Ladybug by convincing her that Ladybug never wanted to give her a chance was brilliant on his part. Very evil but still brilliant. It was an elaborate plan, akumatizing Chloe into Miracle Queen to make her even more powerful and advance her powers so she can not only reveal who the miraculous heroes were but also use them to fight for her. Hawkmoth has stepped up his game this time but he is still much for our two heroes of Paris.
Miracle Queen had Ladybug suffering from the heavy weight of her responsibilities. Because she was experiencing heart break she let herself be followed by Hawkmoth and lead him right to Master Fu and the miracle box. Her self blame was crushing her and she finally reached a breaking point. Normally Ladybug is good at trying to conceal her worry and self doubt with it only boiling over just a tad bit here and there. But this was one of her biggest mistakes and the burden of her responsibilities just added to the pressure she was feeling. Her breakdown was one of the most cathartic moments in the series. She was finally given the moment to release all that turmoil and her amazing partner was right there to help her.
Chat Noir always helps ground Ladybug. Whenever she got too far out of focus because she was starting to get overwhelmed he would guide her back and stabilized her. He also knows the right thing to say in these moments where she starts to feel lost. Chat offers plenty of encouragement and comfort to Ladybug and this underwater Ladynoir hug perfectly encapsulates their partnership. No matter how chaotic things get, no matter what life throws at them they are always going to find a way to deal with it together. When they resurfaced and was ready to take on Hawkmoth, Miracle Queen and her army, we were once again reminded it’s the two of them against the world. Ladybug and Chat Noir can take on any force together.

Chat Blanc emotionally scarred all of us I think we can all agree to that. Everything we could’ve hoped and feared for was wrapped in this heart-aching episode. We’ve seen a possible outcome for a premature one-sided reveal which leads to the end of the world. After Adrien saw Ladybug place a gift for him in his room with an attached note from Marinette he instantly put two and two together. We all joke that Adrien is oblivious but in reality, once he gets the puzzle pieces he puts everything together rather quickly. Not only did he put together that Ladybug was Marinette he also knew that meant he was the boy she loved. Discovering that Ladybug was Marinette and in love with him brought him an immense amount of joy. He was basically on cloud 9. He ran off to confess to Marinette his love for her but made sure not to disclose to her he found out her secret identity. And then they finally dated yay!...until his father ruined it. Gabriel being his usual unpleasant self made Marinette break up with Adrien so he can manipulate her into being akumatized.
Adrien wasn’t going to just let Marinette go so easily so as he went after her he saw an akuma making its way over to her. He knows she is Ladybug so the threat of her getting akumatized was even greater so he transformed of Marinette revealing himself to her...and Nathalie. The two heroes without seeing how discovered Hawkmoth’s identity...which lead to Chat finding his unconscious mother...and...eventually him being akumatized bring the end of the world. Chat Blanc is a cautionary tale of revealing information too suddenly. It’s neither of their faults for the destruction of the world but because the timing was off. Information was being withheld it caused the communication between the two to be incomplete. Their relationship was a good and happy one but because their added responsibilities of being a hero and having a supervillain trying to defeat them it adds complications normal relationships don’t have. So they have to be cautious not to let things slip up too suddenly. Chat Blanc was a great example of why we should take their secret identities more seriously and not get frustrated as to why they cannot share them yet. At least with Chat Blanc we had confirmed information that Adrien does suppress feelings for Marinette deep down, that Gabriel will do whatever it takes to get the miraculous even harming his son and that Marinette and Adrien would be happy together.
Félix was about Adrien’s trouble-making cousin who happens to look a lot like him. It’s also the first time we’ve seen relatives of Adrien on the show with Félix being from his Mom’s side of the family with his mother Amelie Graham de Vanily who is Emilie’s twin sister. Both Adrien and his cousin can relate to losing parents but how they were shaped by their loss is a lot different than one another. Adrien sees the best in people and wants to make friends. Unlike Adrien, Félix is mischievous and has malintent with his interactions with others. As soon as he got to the Agreste mansion he was already trying to ruin Adrien’s reputation and steal Gabriel’s ring. Through Félix and Adrien we saw how grief can impact people in different ways.
When Félix pretended to be Adrien his goal was to make all Adrien’s friends hate him after making mean comments to them. This made Alya, Juleka, and Rose become reakumatized and go after Adrien (who was Félix) as revenge for what he has said to everyone. Ladybug who already thought something was off with ‘Adrien’s’ (aka Félix’s) video message went to save him from the akumas. When the rescue was completed she was ready to go back intake them on that's when Félix tried to pressure her into a kiss. Even though she was uncomfortable he still cornered her in and tried to land a smooch. But then the greatest thing happened...Ladybug told him all about consent and punched him right in the face. A great thing to see. Seriously consent is extremely important and Félix was crossing major boundaries. Adrien never would behave in such a way so it was also very telling her that this isn’t Adrien. Ladybug punching a man who was not taking no as an answer was very empowering and I’m glad a younger audience will see this and understand that if someone is making you uncomfortable then you don’t need to put up with it.
Ladybug was another intense, jam-packed episode. It focuses on Lila’s lies, Marinette’s near akumatization, and exploring the depths of sentimonsters. We saw the alliance between Gabriel and Lila in action and the extremes Lila would go to get Marinette's reputation ruined. We finally started to understand why Hawkmoth was so hellbent on akumatizing Marinette. People view her as a good and trustworthy person that it would cause a lot of emotional response if she ever did a bad deed. Alya stuck by her friend and tried to investigate who would’ve framed Marinette. Adrien with such intensity threatened Lila to leave Marinette alone and forced her to clear Marinette’s name. It was also confirmed that Marinette’s akumatization would be a justice theme and seeing her be almost successfully akumatize was a big moment.
With Mayura we saw that it was possible to recreate human life with the Peacock miraculous which was showing this miraculous in its most powerful form. She created another Ladybug to trick Chat Noir so she can take the miraculous from him. This took such a huge physical toll on Natalie and just added more curiosity about what could’ve Emilie used the peacock miraculous for. We discovered that even though sentimonsters are real human beings they act and experience feelings just like humans. The deep insight on how sentimonsters operate was very intriguing and it was cool to see that through a Ladybug version. Hawkmoth also made another appearance after discovering Mayura was off on her own giving us another in-person battle with our heroes. This confrontation ended up being a showdown between Hawkmoth who was holding on to Chat Noir and Ladybug who was holding onto Mayura. We saw that Ladybug valued Chat’s safety over the peacock miraculous and Hawkmoth valued Mayura’s safety over cat miraculous. It was a good faceoff and I’m looking forward to more of them in the future.

September 29th: Ikari Gozen, Desperada, Startrain, &
Timetagger
Ikari Gozen started a friendship between Marinette and Kagami. After meeting Kagami she noticed how close she and Adrien have been getting and feared that her opportunity to be with Adrien would be hindered. Kagami’s exterior front was also a pretty cold one making it harder for Marinette to connect to her. So she was viewed as a rival until Friendship Day in Paris fixed that. Turns out much to her dismay that Marinette was paired up with Kagami for the treasure hunt and the idea made her nervous and uncomfortable. Kagami on the other hand was willing to get to know Marinette and form a new friendship. Forming relationships doesn’t come easy to Kagami because just like Adrien, she did not grow up in an environment with the opportunities to make friends.
Throughout the treasure hunt, Kagami was earnestly trying to get to know Marinette but it came off as awkward and stoic. Marinette was determined to get away from Kagami and lose the treasure hunt since the prize was to get a picture with Adrien. It wasn’t until she learned that Kagami is friendless and trying to be genuine that she regrets her intentions. She even took care Tomoe when she called Kagami to figure out where she went off to. Marinette called herself a friend of Kagami which was great for Kagami but Marinette’s truthful answer lead to Tomoe getting akumatized. In season three one of the main things Marinette’s development was focusing on was how she handled her crush on Adrien and love rivals. She started as someone who felt threatened by Kagami to someone who felt she needed to connect with Kagami. She experience some real growth when she decided to friend Kagami and give her a miraculous.
Desperada was a troubling ordeal for Adrien. At first, he believed it was a wonderful opportunity for Ladybug to get to knowingly work side by side with Adrien. He wanted a chance to impress and woo her and he felt very honored that Ladybug thought Adrien was capable of being a miraculous hero. Unfortunately, Adrien discovers that he was not best suited for the snake miraculous after many failed attempts. 25,913 attempts to be exact. No matter what he did, no matter the approach Ladybug was always met with the same fate. Adrien was so determined to prove that he was able to help Ladybug out that he has forgotten that he already plays an extremely vital role as Chat Noir. Taking Chat Noir out of the equation was not a good move.
The way the miraculous work is that they are specifically suited for specific types of people. Both Ladybug and Adrien tried to fit Adrien into the role of the snake holder but it doesn’t align with Adrien at the end of the day (or end of the months in Aspiks case). Although it always ended in tragedy the Ladrien moments were very adorable in all the attempts we got to see. The scene where Adrien finally surrenders the snake miraculous had him open up to Ladybug in an emotional way. Something that Chat Noir has never done with Ladybug before making it one of the first times he was emotionally vulnerable around Ladybug (even though she didn’t know he was Chat). Chat made a habit of always jumping in front of Ladybug when danger is around but as Aspik he was unable to do so. It was also the first time that Adrien had to accept that he wasn’t the one needed to help his lady with the snake miraculous and even suggesting to hand it over to someone else. Adrien is used to having a lot of responsibilities placed onto himself but to feel comfortable to let go of one was pretty big for him.
Startrain had the iconic scene where Adrien and Marinette nap together on the train ride over to London. Enough said. It's such a sweet moment between the two of them. Marinette rolled her head over on Adrien and that boy did not even hesitate to lean into Marinette and join her in napping. And the moment her head rested onto Adrien he smiles down at her. Then when Marinette woke up the first time when the commotion started on the train she saw exactly what happened while she was napping and usually Marinette immediately has an outburst of nervousness around Adrien but instead, she smiles and decided to continue resting. It's not often that we get a setting where we get to see them just enjoy each other's company comfortably so it was a welcome surprise before the akuma ruined it.
For the other half of the train ride, they had to deal with Max’s mother being akumatized. What was interesting about her predicament was that the akuma wasn’t meant for her. It slipped away from Hawkmoth’s grasp after a failed attempt to akumatize Sabrina’s dad. The suitcase slipped on board via Sabrina’s suitcase and instantly went to Max’s mother as soon as she felt a big feeling disappointment. She sent the whole train off in space which meant not only did we get a zero-gravity fight but Hawkmoth was so far out of range from the akuma that he couldn’t control it. To get a scenario where Hawkmoth doesn’t have the ability to guide the akuma’s attacks brought a change in the usual formula. It was also high stakes for him once he learned his son was on board and he once again put Adrien in danger.
Timetagger is Bunnix’s debut episode excepts its Bunnix from the future we meet. Future Alix is a time-traveling miraculous holder who has to come to her past to help defeat Time-Tagger. She can’t give too much away about the future which includes the status of our main heroes’ relationship status. That doesn’t mean she can’t mess with him by giving him a confusing answer. We also learned about potential future plotlines like Chat Noir accidentally damaging the bunny miraculous with cataclysm and Hawkmoth position being overthrown. There are so many exciting details about the future that our full of mystery that I’m looking forward to.
Since Timetagger was sent from the future it meant that current Ladybug and Chat Noir weren’t as experience to handle the situation. That didn’t prevent Ladybug from being an all-star with her plan to take down the akuma. Her plan with her lucky charm was all about timing...only Ladybug could think of sending a message to her future self so the future heroes of Paris and destroy the item the akuma was in. In order for the plan to be successful Ladybug had to pretend to admit defeat convincing everyone that she was out of solutions. Chat didn’t fact Ladybug on her choice and went to go with her to hand over their miraculous but she made sure to through a reassuring wink in his direction. She had to make sure her and Chat’s placements where exact because she drew a map for their future selves to open up a portal to the spot Timetagger was standing. It was such a cool way to incorporate the current Ladybug and Chat Noir and their future selves as well as reassuring our beloved heroes are still on top of their game.

Kwamibuster was a close one for our two heroes. With both their Kwamis captured by Kwamibuster they were unable to transform into their super personas. Not only that but both their identities were threatened when Ms. Mendeleiev revealed that she encounters Plagg and Tikki inside the school. Marinette had a plan to resolve everything but it was an extremely risky one. To start she became Multimouse, a hero that and divide into tiny multiples of oneself. She then took all the miraculous in the miracle box and wield them at once. Master Fu warned her of the dangers of using more than one miraculous at once and that the human body wouldn’t be able to endear it.
Even though she showed signs of exhaustion she handled it well. Marinette also needed to pretend to be a separate person from Ladybug to lessen the chance of her partner from discovered that Plagg wasn’t sneaking off alone in the school and Tikki was also with him. Marinette had the same train of thought but because she is so determined not to keep their reveal their secret identities it’s easier her to be convinced that Chat Noir isn’t a student at the school. They both knew they had to cover themselves, both coming up with their own solutions. Since Adrien is very to the point he simply came up with mistaking the school for an elementary school when referring to the situation. Marinette on the other hand fake being two people at once by combining the fox and mouse miraculous to make a mirage of Marinette handing over her miraculous to Ladybug prematurely. It goes to show how elaborate her plans are. Elaborate plans aren’t unusual for her but risking her safety to this degree isn’t something normal. Master Fu was extremely impressed at Marinette’s mental and physical strength to wear all the miraculous together at once. It’s never been done before and we should all be impressed.
Feast had Fu’s past come back to bite him in the butt...um I guess literally. Feast was the result of Fu recklessly recklessly using the peacock miraculous. Since he used the miraculous for his personal gain the outcome was a horrific one. Because he feeling intense hatred towards the miracle box and hunger he ended up creating a sentimonster that devoured everything in sight with its targets on eating the miraculous. This is why the temple was destroyed leaving him the only survivor. Now that it was reawaken by Mayura Fu’s only solutions was to take the miraculous and run away. This meant taking Ladybug and Chat’s miraculous.
So he took their miraculous back in the middle of the night while trying to out run Feast. Both Marinette and Adrien were devastated and not about to let go of their miraculous and kwamis without a fighting chance. So they took off after Fu becoming Paris’ new iconic duo: Biker Bug and Bananoir. Ladybug and Chat Noir no matter the appearance or the circumstances are alway determined to save the day. Fu learned just how dedicated they both are to being heroes and defeating Hawkmoth. Not only that but this proved how Marinette would make a good guardian. She made the right call to keep the miraculous and knew they had what it took to defeat Feast. And because Ladybug was able to cleanse the sentimonster that meant the temple was restored and all the monks who perished during the event was brought back.
Reflekdoll is the Kwami Swap episode. I enjoyed how they demonstrated both heroes strengths and weaknesses through switching roles. Ladybug is the strategic in battle but must be unpredictable with her plans. She is constantly thinking outside of the box and assess the situations from many perspectives. Chat Noir is a spontaneous in battle but must rely on precision to perform cataclysm. Chat Noir needs to be quick with reactions but must narrow down his options to be exact. This is why Marinette is best suited for the Ladybug miraculous while Adrien is best suited for the Cat one. Switching miraculous helped both of them understand each others roles and why they perform they way they do.
They didn’t swap brains so they weren’t automatically going to start thinking like each other. Being Lady Noire did not take away the fact that out of the both of them she is the strategist. The mirror lucky charm is a great example. Chat Noir aka Mister Bug is a straight forward thinker. I mean Lady Noire said it herself he is ‘simple straightforward guy while she comes up with convoluted plans.’ When he conjured a mirror and got exactly what he asked for his solution ended up being too obvious that it failed. Ladybug aka Lady Noire saw the possibilities for the lucky charm that Mister Bug couldn’t and found the solution. Meanwhile Lady Noire failed using cataclysm because she was too chaotic with it and someone who is mild manner like Adrien is needed to execute the ability. I’m happy we got to see that they both take on their own responsibilities and being together is necessary for success.

September 27th: Chris Master, The Puppeteer 2, & Stormy Weather 2
Chris Master is the non musical, Christmas orientated episode in the series. Marinette is babysitting Chris (known as Noël in the French version) who is Nino’s younger brother. He’s a tough kid to babysit since at the age where he believes he is no longer a child and should be able to do more ‘big kid’ things. His attention is quickly grabbed by the giant chest in Marinette’s room which turns out to be full of Adrien birthday gifts for the next 35 birthdays. Classic over the top Marinette. Chris’ attention is peaked and he won’t let it go so Marinette comes up with a lie to prevent him from finding out the true contents in the chest.
She pretends to be one of Santa’s elves keeping watch over children’s gifts. Chris isn’t satisfied with at first with the answer and questions her more until he’s no longer doubting her story. The story she made up was pretty cute and I loved the way she told it to Chris. Her whole interaction with Chris while babysitting was fun to see as well. He was kinda a handful so it was interesting to see how she could work around it. Also how sweet was it for Marinette to babysit Nino’s brother just so he could go to the movies with Alya. What a wonderful friend.
The Puppeteer 2 had the notorious statue scene between Adrien and Marinette. And...I LOVE THE STATUE SCENE. ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE RESULT FROM IT. We know and understand Marinette because we see all the time how much she loves Adrien. Adrien however, is not exposed to that side of Marinette...in fact, he isn’t even fully clear on if she likes him enough as a friend. Marinette can be a confusing person for Adrien to understand. We know her ramblings and unusual behavior around him is a result of her huge crush on him.
But to Adrien, a boy who started off on the wrong foot with Marinette and is new to making friends is unsure what to make of her feelings. He confesses to Nino that he wants Marinette to be close to him and see him as a good friend just like he sees her as one. He admires Marinette for all the good deeds she does for everyone and wants to be there for her just as she is there for everyone else. Marinette can’t help but be nervous around Adrien because she gets too in her head. She doesn’t mean to come off as standoffish and weird around him but it is interrupted that way.
When Nino and Alya leave the group with Manon Marinette literally charges at the door shouting not to leave her alone with Adrien. This causes him to believe Marinette is mad at him. She denies it which makes him relieved however, after more rambling she ends up saying he is not a good friend to her. This leads Adrien to ask her ‘what is he to her?’ So she bolts on out of there leaving a sad and confused boy whose hand is stuck in a molder. Plagg immediately tries to cheer him up by joking around with him and possessing a doll head. He is so sure he did something to mess up his friendship with Marinette by accident and admits to Plagg that he is clueless about these things. Adrien sets off to make it up to her. Since Plagg’s humor cheers him up he thought maybe he could make Marinette feel better that way as well. Hence pretending to be a statue.
Cue Marinette embarrassing herself in front of Adrien for a minute. Marinette is extremely upset by this but it leads to an important conversation. The first attempt was Marinette convincing him she was only joking and knew he was pretending. She only faked those feelings for a statue and not a human being. Adrien presses on, determined to understand how Marinette actually feels about him by again asking her how she feels about him. Of course, they get interrupted by living wax figures. When the time came again where the two of them were alone they both started opening up. They both apologized for their parts in the situation. Neither put the blame onto each other, no one pointed fingers, no one laughed at the other's expense. It was a healthy conversation between two people that went through a giant misunderstanding. Adrien knew he shouldn’t have pretended to be a statue and Marinette felt bad that she made him believe she was mad with him.
Seeing a relationship go through misunderstanding and openly communicating about it is extremely important. The road isn’t always smooth but what matters most is how you handle it afterward. No one was blamed more than the other, no one was ridiculed for their actions. It was an awkward and embarrassing situation but it did not ruin their friendship. In fact, it made it stronger. Going through rough patches and overcoming them together strengthens relationships. Both were willing to come together and be honest. Both wanted to correct the situation. I loved how the statue scene gave Adrienette the opportunity to discuss their feelings more openly.
Stormy Weather 2 may have been a clipshow episode but the last two minutes revealed something important. Marinette went to Adrien’s house to drop off the lessons he missed from class. This time she wanted to make sure that Adrien knew that his friend Marinette delivered the lessons. Even though Natalie agreed she would let him know she decided to attach a cute little note signed with ‘love your friend Marinette’. Adrien still has the mysterious unsigned valentines day card that he received and noticed that Marinette’s handwriting actually similar to the one on the card. Being a romantic, he had hopes that it was from Ladybug.
Although he wasn’t technically wrong with that assumption the card was meant to come from Marinette. With the possible evidence right in front of him that Marinette is the more likely of the two to give him the card he shuts down the idea. Adrien is very good a piecing the picture together when presented with small clues. But when he feels like things can be easily disproven he drops the hunch. The fact that Adrien considered Marinette to be the one who wrote the card was a big moment. He was so close to knowing Marinette’s true feelings for him and once he does learn I cannot wait to see what he does.

September 26th: Miraculer, Oblivio, & Party Crasher
Miraculer was an action packed episode and the return of the core five battling together. There is so many things I could go on and on about for this one. So much going on that even Ladybug had a hard time prioritizing what to focus on. Our heroes abilities getting taking away by Miraculer and used against them made her a formidable foe. She also had the assistance of Mayura who managed to snatch the bee miraculous. Chloe’s entire arc this episode was very intriguing. Not only did she fight off an akumatization but her battle with Mayura itself was beyond exceptional. But I want to focus on what happened to Chat Noir.
Chat Noir’s special ability was taken away by Miraculer when she then used Cataclysm against him causing him extreme injury of his ribs. Luckily he had his super suit on to lessen the blow but the damage significantly impacted him in battle. But that did not stop him from trying to defeat Miraculer, get the bee miraculous back, and help Ladybug. His dedication goes above and beyond and seeing him brave out a severe injury for his team and Paris speaks volumes to who he is as a person. I also didn’t expect to see Chat Noir (or maybe any person) suffer from a Cataclysm attack and seeing this happen for the first time (and not just Volpina’s illusion) was intense.
Oblivio showed us that even without their memories their heroism is apart of who they are and that even when everything is completely reset they know they are meant to be together. With their memory wipe clean from Oblivio we see Marinette and Adrien teaming up to figure out what exactly is going on. Being hit by Oblivio also affected their Kwamis which did not help the situation. So on their own they had to piece together the story of their lives. We saw how naturally they fell into place with each other and how confident they were about the amount of care, trust, and love they have towards each other. Not only did we get a lot of wonderful lovesquare moments we also go to see how they over came this obstacle.
Since Ladybug is always one step ahead of everything she anticipated that her memory was going to be wipe out so with her lucky charm the memory lost she used it to cleverly inform her to call Master Fu on her phone. Adrien had his own struggle when Plagg bailed on him when he couldn’t remember anything. He soon discovered that without Plagg he was unable to transform. But Adrien does what he does best which is throw himself into any situation to protect those he loves. He disguised himself in a cardboard get up so he can fight side by side with his lady. This episode proved how natural everything is between them. Becoming heroes, their partnership, and falling in love just feels right to them. Not to mention we got a Ladynoir kiss out of all this.
Party Crasher had an outrageous party at the Agreste mansion...without the consent of Gabriel. Gabriel pretended to leave the house leaving Adrien alone by himself (as usual). Leave to Nino to take advantage of Gabriel being out for the day by coming over with the boys to have a good time with Adrien. What turned into a small gathering, exploded into a massive dude party. It was thanks to Nino that Adrien got to experience another chance of having people over his house in the name of fun.
Nino’s friendship is extremely beneficial to Adrien. He is always trying to help Adrien have the same experience as any other kid. Adrien is used to a life of isolation and being held to high expectations by his Father. Seeing him get the chance to bond with his classmates and have fun warms my heart. It’s also nice to see the men of the miraculous world come together and support one another and just have harmless fun. The platonic male friendships are always a pleasure to see and very much needed in media.

Silencer presented a troubling dilemma for Ladybug. Her voice was taken by the akuma preventing her from verbally communicating and calling upon her powers. Ladybug is able to work around with relying information nonverbally to Chat Noir. Though that doesn’t stop him from being silly with the situation. Chat Noir was very amusing as he was trying to decipher Ladybug’s thoughts and lighten the mood when the situation looked to be bleak. I really appreciate Chat’s sense of humor and I love what it brings to the Ladynoir dynamic. Even without her voice the Ladynoir banter still lives on. When the battle is over and Ladybug needs to get out of there, she calls Chat her kitty making him swoon on national TV. Just lovely.
I will also like to draw attention to one of my things Ladybug has ever done. When Bob Roth did nothing but caused trouble and had a poor attitude as he was being saved she did not put up with it. While she was keeping him out of harms way and starting up her plan he was hurling insults at her and Chat Noir. He referred to them as the worst superheroes and bad at their jobs. We see Ladybug finish up with her little project and then grabs duck tape. It immediately cuts to her regrouping with Chat Noir in the hallway. It isn’t until she does her miraculous cure when we find out what she did with Bob Roth. She tied him up and I applaud her for that.
Oni-Chan is another incident of Lila causing mischief and drama. After causing Kagami’s newest akumatization, Lila gets tracked down by her. But because of her hatred she feels towards Ladybug, Lila refuses the superhero’s assistance...at first. She thought she was capable of outwitting Oni-Chan with her lies but Oni-Chan instead threw a pinocchio situation at her. She placed a horn on Lila’s forehead and everything she lied it grew. So now you can visually see when she was lying. When she couldn’t hide from the akuma, Lila resorted to using the heroes for help. Despite her best effects of trying to seem grateful for their help, it eventually became clear that Lila was still full of hatred towards Ladybug.
When Ladybug was in danger Lila purposely fake an ankle injury to deter Chat from coming to Ladybug’s aid. She did this completely out of spite and when the firefighter informed Chat that her ankle was fine, we could see the horn on her head growing when she insisted it was injured. This made him furious. Chat Noir was in utter disbelief that Lila could hate Ladybug that much so he stopped focusing his care on Lila and brought the battle to the two of them. Adrien already knew about Lila’s nasty side but this whole ordeal shed a new light on how malicious Lila’s intent is. So he confronted her at the end of a school day after she tried to come over his house again. He saw Lila hurt several people he cares about already and he told her she can count on him for help when needed but only if she doesn’t hurt the ones he loves. Adrien tries to see the good in people but he value those he loves above all and will never stand for them being mistreated.
About Sweet-ember:
For the month of September I wanted to spread some positivity and praise Miraculous Ladybug on the things I’ve appreciated/enjoyed from the show.
Everyday I’m going to select one particular moment, event, theme, etc. from an episode of Miraculous and shared what I liked from that episode. Each post will discuss 2-3 episodes (from season 1-3; 78 episodes in total).
Whether its something big or small there is something positive that I can take away from every single episode of Miraculous.
Please feel free to add a moment from these particular episodes that you loved to this post as well!

Backwarder went deeper into Master Fu’s past by introducing an old love interest who has some involvement with the miracle box. Marianne was back in Paris after years apart from Fu due to the sensitive nature of Fu’s position as guardian. Unable to meet in person Fu gave Marinette a request to give Marianne a letter. A simple request made not so simple when Marinette also has a letter of her own she wishes to give Adrien on top of picking up Fu’s prescription at a pharmacy with a Doctors note. Its a classic situation of switching the papers up but it turned distarious when Marianne took Marinette’s note to Adrien as Fu’s note. She turned into Backwarder giving her the ability to reverse things.
Marianne is used as an example as to why having secret identifies is a positive thing. Since she knew the guardian of the miracle box she was able to inform Hawkmoth. It’s nice seeing the what could go wrong with sharing too much information about the miraculous which gives all the secretiveness a purpose. Backwarder was a tricky akuma to battle. Her defeat called for Ladybug’s most complicated lucky charm. I love seeing how Ladybug’s mind work. She is able to plan out solutions in her head by taking in her surroundings and getting the timing just right. She always has to be one step ahead of the curve. Which makes it interesting when her plan is all about goin backwards to get the result she needs. Ladybug has a brilliant mind and I love seeing it highlighted.
Gamer 2.0 explores the heavy toll that Marinette’s life takes as she works balances school, projects, and being a super hero. Giving her little to no time on doing activities for fun like playing video games. Because she has a jam pack schedule she lacks the patience to focus more energy on an akuma battle and wants to just quickly finishes things. This effects her performance in the battle which Chat Noir picks up on. Chat is having fun playing along with this akuma video game battle. He is someone who likes to live in the moment not feel stuck in it. He understands Ladybug’s perspective but knows that offering his own can help her get out of the funk she boxed herself in. This is one of the things that we constantly see Chat do over and over in their partnership. He is able to communicate with Ladybug in a way that can reach her and pull her out of a negative mental space.
This is a big reason why I love them as partners. Chat was just extremely fun to watch this episode. He was not only performing well in battle but having a good time along the way. And as him and Ladybug work their way up to completely the video game battle they are forced to face off against each other. Chat Noir heroically sacrifices himself knowing he can fully trust Ladybug to bring him back and save the day. Another grand gesture of trust shown by Chat Noir. After the battle Chat Noir leaves Ladybug with a sweet sentiment. He tells her that his favorite moments are when he is just with her and he would give up everything for just those moments with her. Not only is this very sweet of him to say especially since Ladybug was having a hard time struggling with sacrifices but because we know what Adrien’s home life is like. He is forced to strict schedules and not allowed enough quality times with his friends. So being with Ladybug gives him that chance to feel free and have fun.
Weredad puts Marinette’s acting skills to the test. After fearing that her identity was almost exposed to Chat Noir after he went after Ladybug only to find a detransformed Marinette on her balcony she does what any reasonable person will do in her situation. Proclaim her love for Chat Noir. Little did she know she also had an audience, her parents heard her proclamation of love and invited Chat over the apartment to join them in a meal. The whole situation called for some hilariously awkward moments and some really intense irony. Marinette does her best to act like she is hopelessly in love after Chat Noir respectfully decline her stating that he is in love with Ladybug. She pretends she is devastated by the news aiming to be as convincing as possible. Which actually worked a little too well because after seeing his daughter in such a distraught state, Tom gets akumatized into Weredad.
Weredad traps Marinette in a thorn tower to protect her from getting her heart broken again. This means Chat Noir is temporally going to have to take on the akuma alone. Chat’s determination to save Marinette is so strong. Even though he does not yet understand his romantic feelings for Marinette that doesn’t mean he doesn’t deeply care about her. Not only was this situation confusing for him but it was extremely difficult for him as well. It was hard for Chat to reject Marinette because her friendship means a lot to him. The last thing he wanted to do was hurt Marinette but he needed to be honest with his feelings. Even when Weredad had Chat bested, Chat refused to lose. Ultimately Marinette was the one who was able to deakumatize her father because she found the hidden rose. I’m glad she was still able to rescue herself from this situation while Chat was willing to fight for Marinette’s safety.
