ship: Adrien x Marinette
rating: T
summary:
Marinette Dupain-Chen was pregnant, she just hadn’t told anyone, yet.
They’ve had pregnancy scares before, but that’s all they were: scares. The tests always came back negative. This one wasn’t like those times.
Marinette Dupain-Chen was pregnant, she just hadn’t told anyone, yet.
Adrien Agreste sat at the foot of his bed, the large bed he had shared with Marinette for the past year – well, 11 months, two weeks, and five days, but who was counting the days until their move-in anniversary?
The young couple had been dating past a year now, and fresh into their relationship Adrien had been shipped to the states for a modeling campaign that was very important and would help elevate the Agreste name gracefully by association. Having meant, the young man didn’t have a choice but to leave at his father demand; although, he was allowed to come back during the weekends.
Long-distance dating right of the bat with Adrien Agreste had not been the way Marinette had foreseen her dating life to begin; not with the person she had been infatuated with since they were in high school. But alas, it was.
And so, each weekend the blond man would fly back into town and unpack inside the small apartment Marinette had been sharing with Alya. Unintentionally kicking Alya out, because as she declared, she didn’t want to hear all the sex they were going to have considering he couldn’t get some throughout the week. And although Alya’s teasing was just that, teasing, she wasn’t wrong.
As soon as Adrien texted his girlfriend that he was boarding the plane back to Paris, Alya was already packing her overnight bag to stay at Nino’s.
Marinette used to prep a “welcome back” meal to enjoy with the young Agreste, but a few weeks into their routine, she found ordering takeout was more of an ideal solution to Adrien’s neglect towards the meal because all he wanted to do was as soon as he walked through her door was relish on the young woman instead. His luggage was usually slumped and abandoned by the door to be needed much later.
Anais Agreste vs Paris - Chapter 1 "Anais vs Mr. Pigeon - Part 1"

Anais Agreste rapidly pops out of the car followed by Adrien, they're both excited for her first day at Collège Françoise Dupont and on their way to the entrance.
Adrien: School is so awesome, Anais, you're gonna love it! I'm gonna introduce you to my friends and then after we'll see Paris together and-
Anais: Easy there sunshine, you're more excited than me. But yeah, I'd love to meet Paris with you, now school, that's a whole other thing.
She looks away from him and continues climbing up the stairs until she gets to the door, unbeknownst to her, Adrien is no longer behind her.
Anais: I gotta give it to you, it's pretty cool in here. So where do we start? - She glances over where he was supposed to be only to find him nowhere. - Where'd he? Great, ditched in the first 2 minutes.
She looks across the court to try to find someone to talk to, someone to maybe befriend. Anais can't stand being alone, it had already been to long she had been standing there, in the middle of the way and no sign of Adrien (by too long, it'd be around a minute, but to her it felt like ages). Luckily, she was good at making friends, she had a lot of practice in walking into new places and having to meet new people, this was gonna be a cinch.
Time to choose a target then, who to start?, who to talk to? There isn't much knowledge on how this school works, Adrien had vanished before presenting his friends or explaining how the friend groups work in here, so maybe, she should start small, look for someone who's not talking to anyone so it's easy to engage on a conversation. And so she sees a platinum haired girl, sitting alone in a bench, reading a magazine, a rare sight in the middle of all this people talking to each other. Target locked.
Anais: Hey there!
Corinne: Oh hey. - Corinne briefly looks at Anais with a slight smile and goes back into reading her magazine.
Anais: I'm Anais, I'm new here. Would you care showing me where Ms. Bustier's class is? I'm sorry to bother, but my cousin who was gonna help me kinda disappeared and now I-
Corinne: No problem, I'm also in Ms. Bustier's class. - She says while still reading the magazine and only then puts it down. - I can take you there. - The smile comes back.
Anais: Oh great, that'd be great. - As thrilled and impatient as she is, Anais says it in the hope they'll get up immediatly and so stands there with a large smile that fades to an awkward one for some seconds of wait.
Corinne, still looking at the magazine: Let me just finish this one.
Anais: Oh, alright. - She sits next to her in silence for a not so brief moment.
__
They enter a slightly empty class. Juleka and Rose are in their seats, talking, Ivan and Mylene are together in the front. Corinne leads Anais to the back of the class where she sits next to Nathaniel, who was quietly drawing.
Corinne: Hey Nat. Nathaniel responds with a shy smile and goes back to his activity.
Anais: So, where do I sit? Are there any seats available?
Corinne: I think you can sit right behind us. The front rows are kinda full.
As more people start getting in, Ms. Bustier starts the class by introducing the new student. She calls Anais to the front of the room.
Ms. Bustier: Everyone, I would like to welcome Anais Agreste, your new classmate. She's moved to Paris and will start studying here with us.
When she says those words, everyone starts whispering to wach other. Agreste? Would that mean her and Adrien are related? Is not like he has ever mentioned anything about her. About that, where is Adrien? Or Marinette?
Anais: Thank you, Ms. Bustier. Hello, everyone, I'm glad to be here studying with you this year! - She says thrilled, with a large smile.
She goes back to her seat and passes by Chloe.
Chloe: I can't believe I'll have to stand studying with you now, Anais!
Anais: Me neither. - She says sarcastic with a tiny smirk, pats her on the head and carries on climbing the steps.
Chloe: Don't- Urh - She tries to "fix" her hair thinking Anais had ruined it somehow.
Adrien gets into class apologising for being late, followed by Marinette, who does the same thing, they both take their seats. Adrien looks back and waves at Anais with an embarrassed smile which she does not condone very much. Since he turned back Marinette inicially thinks he's turning to her and blushes, only to see that he was waving at this new girl she didn't know.
Corinne turns to Anais: Agreste? As in Adrien Agreste? Are you related or something?
Anais: He's my cousin, haha.
Corinne: What? And you didn't mention it? Wait, was he the one who left you this morning?
Anais: Yeah, and now he's late, what do you think happened? You know, you who studies with him and stuff.
Corinne: I wouldn't know, he always does this sort of thing, don't take it personally. I always thought it was because of family or modelling matters though, but since you don't know anything about it...
Anais: I just moved in, it's not like we're that close either, maybe it is what you're saying, I dunno.
Mr. Damocles knocks on the door and comes in.
Mr. Damocles: Sorry to interrupt Ms. Bustier, I have an announcement for the class. There will be a fashion design contest this week. You only have one day to work on your fashion piece and it must be your own design. In 10 hours, your finished presentation will be judged by none other then the great fashion designer, Gabriel Agreste, the father of our very own student, Adrien Agreste. In fact, Adrien will model the winning design in his next photoshoot! And now to announce this years theme: derby hats!

Chapter 8
Munching on some salad, he looked up to see Kagami scrutinising him, her brown eyes sharp as ever. He felt his shoulders tense as he struggled for words to say since she was clearly waiting for him to say something. He couldn’t help but feel like each date was tenser as opposed to the sense of ease he should supposedly be feeling by now; it was inevitable that his mind kept going back to what Marinette had said.
Just being able to be myself. No pressure, or having to second guess everything.
“So, how have you been?” he asked, trying his best to not look like he wanted to bolt because she deserved better than that.
“Good,” she said slowly, setting her fork down to clasp her fingers in front of her as she leaned forward; it was eerily reminiscent of his father when he was about to drop some sort of a bomb on him. As he watched, her face morphed into an unsure expression, which startled him out of his nervousness and he sat up straight to look at her questioningly.
“Adrien,” she started quietly. “Are you sure this - we - are working?”
He couldn’t help the guilt that flooded his senses, because truthfully, he did not know the answer to that question.
He had a lot on his mind lately. Namely, Ladybug and Marinette, both of them not quite themselves and distant than usual. Ladybug even more so, because she made no attempt at even pretending the distance didn’t exist. Their conversations were bare, and extremely on a need-to basis; his father would be proud at the professionalism, he supposed.
And Marinette was… Well, Marinette. Sweet, kind, bubbly, soft Marinette, walking around like she carried all the burden in the world, while she attempted to smile for him despite how he’d broken her heart. And he was trying his best to make it up to her, by trying to be there for her, but she wouldn’t let him .

Next fic onwards, I’ll post entire chapters here. :P Didn’t want to randomly start with Chapter 8 outta nowhere, so.
I cannot wait to unleash my Ladynoir July fic!!! Totally inspired by @art-the-f-up Married Ladynoir au
Have a snippet because I love it and I love them:
‘But you don’t know his name, Marinette.’
She rolled her eyes, barely holding it together, her energy pulled tight just to stay calm.
‘No, I don’t know his name. But here’s what I do know.
I know I love him—and he loves me, fiercely. He’s brilliant, driven, unwavering. He challenges me, believes in me, stands by me like no one else ever has. And right now? He’s out there making sure our future—our home—is everything we’ve dreamed of.
I know he’d choose chocolate over sweets any day, and ice cream over croissants without hesitation. He has five names and only tolerates one. He’s stepping into a job he despises, because it’s the family business, and he’d walk through fire for the people he loves.
He wants a family—three, maybe four kids—but the thought of seeing me in pain terrifies him. He’s wealthy, yes, but only spends what he earns, not what’s been handed to him. He went to university in London not just for the academics, but to prove he could stand on his own.
He keeps a little notepad where he ranks Akuma villains by outfit and renames them all—better names, smarter ones. And he hates being late so much that every clock in his house runs ten minutes fast.
So no—I may not know his name. But I know him. And that’s enough.’
Her chest heaved when she’d finished, Alya remaining frozen, staring at her.
‘Wow!’ Was all Alya said. Marinette collapsing down onto her friend's bed her body drained of fight.
‘Yeah.’
‘Can you do that again so I can record it?’
hi just wanted to say i adore every little thing and am excited about your upcoming adrinette april fic too! just wanted to ask how you manage writing multiple different fics at the same time, especially since you always tend to finish them too? do you outline the entire fic before you write? do you write a significant amount of each work before you post anything? i'm honestly amazed at the range of fics you have, how amazing they all are, and how different they are. and you're also one of those authors i know is going to complete the fic too. it's honestly impressive and sooo motivational. i am constantly in awe.
Firstly, thank you so, so much for the lovely comments. You’ve really made my day!
I’m overwhelmed with the love for Every Little Thing, especially as it’s something new for the fandom too. It’s really been special to see so many people come back to read. Adrinette April is a lot of fun! I cannot wait to post it!
You can 100% tell the fics I go into with a plan because they are the ones that get finished. The ones I don’t seem to end up drifting off because I leave them too long and have no idea what I actually wanted the outcome to be.
Every Little Thing is going through some major changes at the end of the fic (I’ve written four different ends at this point and none seem right for it) however I have 34 chapters written and ready to post atm.
Adrinette April I’m getting a rough 1st draft completed hopefully by the time I start posting so I can just clean up the chapters as I go. I find the month challenges are harder as I’m posting daily so I like to make sure most is complete before I start.
I roughly outline what happens in each chapter but it does change significantly as I write. Drafting out the chapters also allows me to make changes before posting too.
I love experimenting with different genres. As much as a fluffy contemporary romance will always be my go to, I’m glad I’ve written a thriller and dystopian fic to, it’s really pushed my writing style on.
‘You need to stop staring, dude!’
But he couldn’t help himself. It wasn’t just her eyes—those vivid blue pools that seemed to hold all the beauty of the sky and the sea—it was everything about her. It was the way her black hair fell like a cascade of midnight, framing her face with such elegance that it looked like a masterpiece made by the universe itself. The soft curve of her cheek, the graceful line of her jaw, and the gentle, almost wistful way her lips would part when she smiled. There was a quiet magic in the way she moved, an effortless grace that made every moment feel like it had been spun from a dream.
But the main reason he couldn’t stop staring was because sometimes she stared back, and in those moments, it felt like nothing else mattered.

Chat Noir was still taking in the view of their hideout, and in his arms he cradled one of the kittens. The smallest one. The youngest. How happy he was when he saw it finally opened its round blue eyes. It might have been the weakest one, but surely this one was a fighter. Chat's favourite one, for some reason. "I painted thirteen black cats all around the place" - Ladybug admitted, taking a step to him, eyes focused on the kitten in her partner’s arms - "You can look for them in your free time." His eyes sparked and his tail swung from side to side, betraying his feline curiosity. Ladybug wasn't looking at his face, though, but at the squeaking ball of messy puff in his hands. She reached and carefully ran a thumb over its little head a few times, silent. Chat was observing her face. Apart from his evident attraction to her, she was also simply his favourite person. And seeing her this calm and radiant; this close... Her fresh scent from after showering so present. He sighed as comfort of their proximity arose deep from within and up to his chest... In a low rumble.
