Lukadrien June day 9: Villain couple!

Hey, about your Veilleuse and Ailes Rouge au, how would the episode Silencer go? Also it would be purrfect right? (pun intended)

The main progress point of this episode would be Luka recognising Ailes Rouges 'heart song' (he can keep his magical powers :3 theres a whole subsection of magic thats hinted at in mlb that never really gets touched on, but its still kinda cool).

This would probably lead to Luka getting closer to Nath in an attempt to help him. This could then lead to either romance conflict (although i think any attraction towards Luka would be one-sided), or mutual appreciation of taste.

Context:

I headcanon Luka has known Nathaniel for atleast a few years, not very well mind you, but in the way one knows vaguely of their little sisters strange classmates.

Nath was pretty... introverted before being pushed by Tikki and later Marc, so while Juleka and Nathaniel would work together on school projects (when Rose and Alix werent available) out of quiet kid solidarity, they probably didnt know too much about eachother. Still- Luka has been around him enough to pick up his song, especially once Nath starts being more friendly and actually making friends with Jules.

Marc however hasnt been hanging around the boat house that long, if ever, so Luka doesnt recognise him.

Anyway, silly episode bits:

Nathaniel is brought in by KS to help design the costumes. Hes a costume guy while Marinettes a fashion gal. He and Marinette work together to fix up the costumes.

Ailes does loose his voice to Silencer. But this doesnt affect them all that much, excluding being immediately thrown off. Upon meeting up our boys figure, as long as they can break his helmet and catch a voice to use, it doesnt matter if they have a charm or not. Besides, Ailes has gotten better at catching little flying things.

Neither Ailes or Vei like Bob Ross at all, and do make him spill on live TV in the end. Probably less subtly than Ladybug and Chat Noir did. Our heroes are artists and dont stand for art thieves.

Bonus Kitty Section! and Silencer!Luka designs:

Im... not completely happy with them. But i wanted Silencer to resemble the Kitty Section costume. And his 'cape' flickers when he 'talks' (through the speakers on his hands and chest) like audio recordings.

MAJOR SPOILER ALERT!!! Silencer transformation

I’m pretty sure someone pointed it out already, but I wanted to expand it a little.

So, the akumatization scene in “Silencer” is probably one of the best scenes in this episode.

First of all, when Luka sees Marinette being mocked by Bob Roth he becomes enraged. He isn’t just angry, he is furious. There is a great shot of Luka’s hand squeezing the mask. You can see his hand fidgeting, the blur in the background adds to the dense atmosphere, it makes you focus.

But the thing I wanted to bring attention to the most is the actual akumatization. The whole process is basically just Hawk Moth’s monologue. Luka says nothing. He just puts on the mask and transforms. There’s no “Yes, Hawk Moth” or any other line. Just silence.

I came up with two ways how we can portray this. I think they work along each other, I mean, they’re compatible.

The more obvious explanation is of course the connection between this move and Luka’s villain persona. Silencer talks, but he does it in a rather unconventional way, so there’s that.

But I also think this shows what are Luka’s true intentions. He doesn’t care about the miraculouses. He doesn’t care about Hawk Moth. He wants the powers to “serve justice” as he claims. He wants to punish the ones that disrespected Marinette, him and KittySection.

I may be wrong, but throughout the whole episode Silencer doesn’t even try to take Ladybug’s and Chat’s miraculouses. There is an intense fight, yes, but he treats them as obstacles between him and Bob, who needs to be put down.

Hawk Moth says something to him once. Unfortunately I don’t know what they are talking about because I don’t understand French, so that means my theory may have a hole in its logic. But I can’t do anything about that until someone puts the subs on.

The whole idea of this post is how this part expands Luka’s character. In contrast to his usually calm nature, when he becomes angry, he really is angry. The akuma works on him, but on a different take. He becomes a crazy villain, but he knows what he wants to do. He uses the akuma as a weapon for himself, not for Hawk Moth. He is still independent. He is determined. He wants justice, not only for him, but for his loved one.

The Way Luka and Kagami handle their relationship with Adrien and Marinette

I didn’t know how to type that title, but this is something I noticed ever since Kagami and Luka were introduced, specifically in Frozer and Silencer- In Luka’s case. The way Kagami handles her “rivalry” with Marinette in wanting to win over Adrien’s affections, and how Luka deals with knowing Marinette’s crush on Adrien. I just needed to type this whole thing out.

Now, this is more from what I’ve noticed in the Frozer episode. Kagami is more confident than Marinette, and she notices and knows it. She basically tells Marinette “You have a chance to tell him and you’re not taking it. If you don’t step up, I’m going to confess to him first.” Kagami isn’t hesitating like Marinette does, her target is Adrien and she is determined to get him first before Marinette, though in a way she’s still giving her a chance, pushing her to make a move.

I don’t really know what else to say concerning Kagami, sorry about that. I think it’s clear considering how much I wrote for Luka.

Luka

Honestly I have a lot more to say about Luka than I had to say about Kagami- I think I made it clear I adore him with all my heart. Luka’s approach is much more mellow compared to Kagami’s. Ever since Frozer, and especially Silencer, we know that he is in love with Marinette, ever since they first met in Captain Hardrock. He confesses to her as an Akuma, and as himself, in Silencer. A scene that pretty much shook the entire goddamn fandom. But he knows that Marinette has a crush on Adrien. He shows this at the end of Frozer when he tells her to go after him, smiling at her. He loves her, but respects her and is alright if she has a crush on someone else. Her happiness is important to him. I mean, we all saw how he reacted to Marinette being threatened by Bob, oops I mean human filth. He was e x t r e m e l y pissed off. Marinette’s happiness is clearly important to him, he wants her to be happy and doesn’t like it when she’s threatened. Even with this in mind, he still does confess to her at the end of Silencer. From what I get from all this, Luka is still holding onto a little glimmer of hope. He’s perfectly fine if Marinette ends up dating Adrien, he’ll be happy for her and accept it. But he still lets her know that he still loves her, and that he won’t push her to accept him or his love. If theres still a little bit of hope, then he’ll cling to it, in hopes one day he and Marinette can be a couple. He’s fine with either outcome.

This actually reminded me of a character from my childhood show, “Code Lyoko”, another French animated tv show. Luka reminds me of the character William Dunbar. He’s in love with one of the main characters named Yumi, but another main character named Ulrich also loves Yumi. It’s kind of a rivalry between the two, but William said that he isn’t a problem to Ulrich at the moment. He’s willing to let Ulrich have a chance with Yumi, but he knows he himself still has a chance. He tells Ulrich that sooner or later he’s going to step up and ask Yumi out, then he’ll be a problem. But, he’s willing to accept it if Ulrich and Yumi become a couple. Actually, William could be compared with both Luka and Kagami because of this, seeing as he’s giving a potential love interest a chance with his crush, but will step in at some point.

Kagami will step up to confess to Adrien of Marinette wont, while Luka is more laid back and will accept either outcome. This was just something I wanted to share with everyone. If anyone has anything to add to this I would love to hear it.
