Huh. I get Ms. here in the US and when I was working this summer, I was only 20 and just out of college. But a lot of people also use my first name.

Even before Frozen became associated with OuaT, some people were making gifsets insisting that Elsa has all these parallels with Regina...but Regina is a mass murderer and Elsa locked herself up out of shame and fear that she would harm someone by mistake. People judged Elsa before they even knew her. People are judging Regina for evil things that she CHOSE to do. They are not the same character. And I would love Frozen Swan.
I think there are a lot of similarities. I get the parallels. Both meant to be queen, both with powers, both isolated, both with parents that want to control them. But it's their similarities that point out their key differences. Elsa shut herself away rather than hurting anyone. Elsa is scared of her power hurting people. Regina embraces it. It's just like the similarities between Emma and Regina. Both had terrible childhoods and loss and isolation. But Regina took that and became a person that wanted to take away everyone's happy endings ad Emma became a person that wanted to make sure no one was as miserable as she was.
Emma and Elsa have a lot in common with Regina. And neither of them became an evil queen, a villain. Neither of them became a murderer or child abuser.
The fact that Elsa and Regina do have so much in common reflects rather badly on Regina.
And I'm becoming more and more pro Frozen Swan.

It was portrayed as romantic. And more Regina's past whitewashing. Seriously, sex in the vault where she stores her hearts, kept Daniel, the doorway hidden by her father's casket.

It's always a relief when something I write as I'm falling asleep makes sense in the morning.
I don't know what Graham's backstory is, if he's a prince or anything. But Regina's the sea witch. Emma escapes the confines of being a princess by hanging out on ships. She has a dog named Swan.
They're younger than show canon, and Emma has a baby brother Neal.

Graham is uber careful about consent not just in their relationship in general, but each time. Emma loves it, because no one's ever been so careful with her before. But at the same time she worries because she knows it's Regina still playing a part in their relationship. To help convince him that he was okay assuming sometimes she used both of their handcuffs to tie herself (naked) to their bed.
Graham spent ten minutes trying to find the keys she hide before he did anything. She made sure he knew how much she enjoyed everything he did.
It took a few times, but eventually Graham learned to trust himself and his ability to read her, and stopped worrying all the time.
NC It's so weird how this stuff gets around tumblr! My roommates were the ones who met Eduardo Castro and I had food poisoning and didn't get to go to his talk, but yup...he just said there'd be a dancing scene and nothing about BatB. And he's a busy designer, not a writer in charge of plotting the show, so he might not necessarily remember/care that the Papa Charming scene in question was a dream. Just my thoughts.

Okay, I know you don't write genderbends, but all this has made me want an AU with only Regina's and Graham's genders switched and all the situations the same. (And consequently queer Gremma. <3)
I would be sad to lose Jamie, but OMG Emma and Graham as female would make me so happy. If the show had been written that way I would have loved it.
I personally can't do genderbends, though. I got a question about it recently from someone, and I told them that I think the thing that bothers me is that it's an external thing. Like the Blue Fucking Fairy waved a wand and took away one body and replaced it with another. It's not the character's choice, to me, like different sexual orientation. So much of tv is written as default straight characters, so queer headcanon makes sense to me. But I just really don't like changing the gender. It feels like a decision taken away from the character. Making a character transgender or transexual is a different thing. That I can understand.
