Love never fails: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. But love never fails.
And now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

The sound of the race car growled from far back, it was the day of the big competition, X-hunter and Team ETA.
Pooh drove up, doing a swerve before parking up, he got out of the car, taking off his helmet. Suddenly a voice spoke up from afar, "Pooh?" Pavel asked, looking at him with furrowed eyebrows like he was figuring out a clue. Pooh looked up and let out a small chuckle, "Well, look who it is, the infamous Pavel," He said, going over to Pavel, his helmet under his arm and a smirk on his face. "Who knew I'd be racing against you, hm?" he added on.
Pavel glared at him. Hard.
"Don't speak to me, Pooh," Pavel snarled, his team men looking at the intense scene in front of them. Pooh just nodded and said, "Okay." He walked off to get back into his car, one minute left and they're off. Pooh glared at Pavel through his car window, still sporting a slight cocky smirk, and then they were off. The sounds of the cars growling erupted around them, people cheering on for each team. Pooh pressed down on his accelerator, overtaking Pavel and others ahead, putting himself at 1st place which infuriated Pavel considering he's the "best" racer.
After the race, Pooh had won first place and was celebrating with his teammates then went off to change in the changing rooms, whistling a tune then got shoved onto the wall by somebody. He grunted as his back hit the wall then turned around to see who was there. It was Pavel.
"What the hell do you think you're doing!? You cheated!" – Pavel
Pooh shoved him off, his own face contorting with anger.
"Cheated? Is this what we call jealousy, Pavel?"
"Jealousy!? Don't piss me off, I lost to you! YOU!"
Just when Pavel was about to throw a punch at Pooh, the leader of Pavel's team ran in to separate them and calm him down. Pooh stood there, glaring at Pavel like he was planning something behind his back. He spat on the floor then walked out, his shoulder pushing Pavel's – earning a glare from the X-hunter team.
As Pooh turned the corner to his car, he got stopped by his father, Pooh sighing knowing what was about to happen.
"Did you get first?" Poohs father asked, his hands in his pockets.
"Yes, Dad, I did," He replied back, his tone of voice was empty, his cocky tone completely swiped off when it came to his father.
"Good. You know what happens when you don't earn those rewards, don't you?" His father continued, his voice dark.
Pooh sighed and nodded, "Yes."

On training day, Pooh arrived late to his own team, jogging over to them and getting his gear ready as well as putting his helmet on.
As they were training on the track, Pavel had purposely rammed into the back of Pooh's car which infuriated him to the fullest. He pressed his brakes abruptly and stormed out of the car, slamming his door then going towards Pavel's—pulling him out. He grabbed his collar,
"What was that!? Huh!? You damaged my car! I won't be able to race in the next race! What is wrong with you?" Pooh yelled, shaking Pavel between his words.
"Aww.. you can't race? That's a shame. A bigger chance of me winning isn't it?" Pavel chuckled, pushing him off and going back to his team garage, leaving Pooh looking furious.
Pooh huffed and stormed back over to his car where the mechanics were dragging away to speak to his team leader. "I'm gonna kill him," He mumbled under his breath.
Later that night—the race night— Pooh ran into his garage and asked his mechanic if the car was reliable enough to race in, clearly hoping it was. The mechanic shook his head slowly, "The crash fucked up the front, man.. I'm sorry." Pooh covered his face and groaned loudly. His father will not be happy. He immediately walked over to where Pavel was, fury all over him. He grabbed Pavel by the collar again and shoved him against the nearest wall, yelling,
"I'm gonna kill you! I mean it!"
Pooh's fist raised, ready to strike Pavel's face before they got separated by their teammates, telling them to calm down.
After the race was finished, Pooh was still angry especially knowing he had to face the 'consequences' of not being the perfect racer son. He walked around the corner after getting out of the building, his father waiting as usual.
"Did you win?" His father asked, his voice expressing his usual dark, warning tone.
"I–" Pooh stuttered.
"What? You heard my question, now answer it." His father said with a growl.
"I'm sorry," Pooh said, his head lowering, ready for what was going to happen.
Before Pooh could say another word there was a loud snap, his father had slapped him across the face, he stood there with his hand on where he was slapped. Pooh turned to look at his father and snapped,
"I never wanted to do racing! Why do I get put into shit over something you forced me to do!" His voice shook as he yelled at his father, immediately regretting his words.
Before his father could go any further, there was a loud cough from behind the wall. Pooh snapped his head to the side to see. Pavel was there, eavesdropping on the entire moment between Pooh and his father, Pavel let out a nervous chuckle as he got caught.
"Were you eavesdropping on that entire conversation? Do you not know how to mind your business?" Pooh snapped, hiding the vulnerability behind his eyes.
"No..." Pavel lied through his teeth, gulping slightly. He had heard yelling every now and then after races and wanted to see what it was.
Pooh just shook his head and pushed Pavel out of his way—despite feeling quite grateful that he was there to stop his father escalating any further— and walked off.

A few days went by, racing, training days each day but people had noticed a sudden change with Pavel. He's been acting less aggressively towards Pooh and not picking fights out of nowhere like he usually would.
During a race, Pooh was on Pavel's tail, ready to overtake. People were cheering on Team ETA and others were cheering for X-hunter, Pooh had managed to overtake Pavel but it seemed like a very easy win. Too easy. As if Pavel had let it happen, which is very unlike him considering he's the 'King' of the track.
After the race, the mechanics on each team were checking the cars then Pooh decided to go over to Pavel to ask him about the easy pass. He tapped Pavel on the shoulder making him turn around.
"Can I speak to you?" Pooh asked, his voice quite hesitant considering he wants a proper conversation with the guy he calls his enemy.
"Uhh... sure, I guess," Pavel replied, nodding his head.
They went to an area behind the X-hunter garage then Pooh started,
"What was that for?" He asked, looking into his eyes.
"What was what? Did I do something?" Pavel replied, trying to avoid Pooh's eye contact
"Look at me," Pooh said sternly, flicking Pavel's chin to make him look at him. "You know what I'm talking about, that easy win, you never let people win that easily." He continued.
"You're bluffing, I didn't let you win on purpose," He lied again, trying to avoid eye contact with Pooh once again.
Pooh let out a deep sigh and flicked Pavel's head, "Quit that lying and just tell me. Is it because of what you heard yesterday?"
"Uhm..." Pavel hesitated to answer for a moment then continued, "Fine. Yes it is, I figured you needed the win.." He swallowed nervously.
"I don't need your pity, Pavel," Pooh said, hiding the fact that he felt kind of touched. "Just stay out of my business," Pooh added on before walking away, leaving Pavel where he was.
Later, Pooh was in the gym, practicing for the next competition and getting his usual stuff done, when Pavel came in and gave him a small nod. Pooh sat down for a moment to rest then Pavel came over to him and noticed the slap from his father had bruised.
Pavel grabbed Pooh's chin and said, "Stay still, your face is bruised."
"G–get off!" Pooh attempted, very weakly, to push Pavel off of him as he applied an ointment on the bruise.
"You were forced into racing, huh?" Pavel asked, his voice lacking his usual mocking tone, now softer and sounding genuine which caught Pooh off guard for a moment.
"Mh... All he wants is the money off of me and to be known as having the 'perfect' son." Pooh replied to Pavel, his own voice genuine too, his hands dropped to his sides, letting Pavel treat the bruise on his cheek. "Why anyway?"
"Oh... I was just wondering." He replied to Pooh as he'd just finished putting an ointment on Pooh's bruise. "You should let your own dad hit you like that, why don't you fight back?"
"Me? fight back with my dad?" Pooh scoffed, "Yeah, no thanks. I'd like to keep my life a little bit longer." He chuckled, earning a chuckle from Pavel too.
"Mh... are you fine with going home? You know, since I'm guessing your dad isn't so happy with you right now."
"Why? Wanna take me home?" Pooh asked teasingly, not knowing that it was his intention.
"Uhm... technically," Pavel said, swallowing as he looked at Pooh. "I mean, if that's okay with you of course."
Pooh's eyes widened slightly, taken aback that Pavel was considering letting him into his own home then said, his voice hesitant, "U-uh... fine, I guess..."
───────────────────────
That night, they got to Pavel's home and Pooh looked around to explore. He went over to the resting area, sitting down on the couch as Pavel came over too.
"Your house is nice, man," Pooh said, looking at him.
"Oh wow, thank you," He replied, shocked that Pooh had complimented something.
"Why are you so shocked?" Pooh asked, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
"Nothing, just surprised you complimented something of mine, for once." He chuckled.
"Yeah, whatever dude. I still hate you, don't think I don't just because I said something nice," Pooh remarked but his voice lacked any hatred.
Pavel scoffed and shook his head, then got up to go towards the kitchen to make food for the two of them.
"You a picky eater?" Pavel asked from the kitchen.
"Nah, I'll have anything, I guess", Pooh called back as he looked around Pavel's living room like it was a rich museum.
A few minutes later, Pavel came back over to where Pooh was sitting, bringing two beers and some food he had cooked up. He placed them on the table in front of Pooh.
"Hm, didn't know you could cook this well," Pooh said jokingly with a chuckle, making Pavel let out a chuckle too.
"Wow, you've given me two compliments now. Are you feeling sick? Did that slap knock your brain or something?" He laughed.
As they finished their food, Pooh had just taken the last sip of his beer, already drunk from being such a lightweight,
"Mmh.. Pavel?" Pooh spoke up drunkenly, his words slurred but audible.
"Hm? You okay?" He asked, then realised, "damn, you're drunk already? Such a lightweight."
"I'm tired... Pavel, can I sleep overrr?" Pooh continued, his words slurred still, then he reached to grab another bottle of beer, making Pavel quickly grab his wrist.
"Woah woah, you clearly can't handle your liquor, no more for you. And yes, you can," Pavel nodded as he agreed. "Come on, I'm taking you up now."
Pavel got up from his seat to drag Pooh upstairs to the bedroom,
"Jesus, you're heavy.." He mumbled under his breath.
───────────────────────
The very next morning, Pooh woke up before Pavel. He looked at his surroundings, then realised he was lying in Pavel's bed with Pavel's arm wrapped around him. He sat up slowly and muttered,
"What the fuck..."
Then his head began hurting, making him let out a low groan, waking Pavel up. He woke up immediately and sat up.
"Shit, are you okay? You should've told me you were a lightweight, and I wouldn't have given you that beer." Pavel sighed then continued,
"Come on, I'll make you breakfast and a painkiller, we have practice today, so get ready afterwards."
Pooh nodded, his hands still on his head from the pain of the headache.
After they finished their breakfast and got ready, they were at practice, no fights, no yelling, they were calm for once. Pavel was even smiling at Pooh randomly, earning confusing looks from their teammates. They're meant to be enemies, they're on opposite teams, why are they being friendly all of a sudden?
───────────────────────
After the practice, Pooh went to Pavel's house again, making sure to be discreet so nobody would suspect anything between the two of them. They sat on the couch and began watching a movie, and it was silent, but it felt slightly intimate with how close they were sitting. Pavel shifted a little bit, making their legs touch. Pavel turned to look at Pooh—his eyes more intimate than hatred anymore.
"Uhm.. You okay?" Pooh asked nervously, his heart pounding more than it should be.
"Hm? Yeah, I'm watching it through your eyes. They're pretty, y'know." Pavel stated boldly, not looking away.
Pooh slowly turned to look at Pavel, looking into his own eyes, swallowing from the flustered feeling he was having just by looking at Pavel. He caught Pavel's eyes flickering down to his lips, closing his own—hinting at what Pavel wants. He felt Pavel lean in and rest his lips against Pooh's, deepening the kiss into something more intimate, slipping his tongue past Pavel's lips..
Pavel..." Pooh gasped against his lips, letting Pavel's tongue take control of his pleasure.
Pavel smirked against him, pushing him down against the couch, climbing on top of him, straddling his hips without breaking the kiss. He sat up and pulled off his shirt, leaning down to pull Pooh's off too.
"You've been hiding all this?" Pavel said, biting his lip, then leaned back down to kiss Pooh's chest and stomach. Using his tongue to make a trail too, making Pooh sneak out a moan of Pavel's name.
Pavel looked up at him from his stomach, saying in a low voice, "Such a good boy.."
Pooh sat up a little bit to swap their positions, making Pavel be underneath as hes on top,
"How can I hate you still when you're doing this to me?" He said—kissing down Pavel's stomach this time.
Pavel's hands went into Pooh's hair as he tilted his head back, and Pooh kissed further down, stopping at his abdomen to look up,
"Can I?" He asked, hinting at Pavel's crotch, making Pavel nod eagerly and say with a slight whimper in his voice,
"Yes, please... hurry."
Pooh smirked and immediately unbuckled his pants, his hands purposely brushing against Pavel's crotch in a slow movement. He unbuckled his own then looked at Pavel,
"You sure you can handle me?" Pooh coaxed, his eyes wandering over Pavel's exposed body.
"I'll handle anything from you, please. I need you so bad..." He nodded, his voice a low whisper.
The sounds of Pavel's moans and Pooh's continuous groans filled the room. None of them cared if they could be heard by the neighbours; all Pavel wanted was the feeling of Pooh taking control of him.
───────────────────────
A few hours later, as the sun rose, Pooh woke up before Pavel to make breakfast in bed for him. He came upstairs just as Pavel woke up, placing a plate of food on the nightstand,
"Good morning," Pavel grumbled, his throat sore from that night.
Pooh chuckled then handed him the tea he had made,
"Drink this, I can tell your throat is sore."
Pavel took the tea and took a small sip, putting it back down, then looked up at Pooh,
"Can you tell Alan we're not coming to practice today, I'm tired." Pavel stated.
Pooh nodded, then went to inform Alan about their absence that day. He climbed back into bed with Pavel, cuddling up to him.
"C'mere then, let's go back to sleep."

Time skip
About 2-3 years went by of Pooh and Pavel being openly in a relationship, Pavel had been planning something for their 3rd anniversary. That day, Pavel's teammates went over to Pooh, telling him to meet Pavel by the garage for his 'surprise,' which he agreed to and went over to their garage. Pavel stood there normally,
"Pooh!" He exclaimed in casual excitement, "I was bored and wanted to speak to you."
Pooh scoffed, ruffling Pavel's hair,
"You always do," he said, then looked back to Pavel, who was fixing his shoelace, "Do you need help? You look like you're struggling." He said, offering a hand then Pavel looked up,
"Pooh," Pavel began, taking out a small box from his pocket, "Happy 3rd anniversary, will you marry me?"
Pooh froze in place, looking down at him,
"Really? Oh my god, yes!" Pooh exclaimed, hugging Pavel tightly, the rest around them cheering for them two.
