mlp fim: the cart before the ponies

i just realised that in the cart before the ponies, all the other foals are participating in the race with their older sister/parents whereas diamond tiara is with her butler.

whilst all the other fillies ride with a family member, diamond tiara rides with her butler.

the derby does not require the presence of a parent or an older sibling; any "older pony" would be fine. but because everypony else (i've attached an image from the Wiki for reference) seems to look like their partner, we can guess that they are all older siblings or parents.

now it doesn't look like randolph and diamond have a particularly close relationship (she shoves him aside and takes credit for his work in twilight time), and because he's the family butler, he probably ended up joining in the derby where her parents could not.

but why can't her parents join? the derby appears to be a pretty big event for ponyville. perhaps filthy rich was busy doing some business stuff but spoiled rich is the head of the school board (crusaders of the lost mark). since the school was promoting it and there are school children in the race, surely it would look good for spoiled rich to join in on this race, if not for diamond tiara's wellbeing and happiness.

so i thought it just a bit sad that diamond tiara had to race with her butler (an employee who has no real relationship with her) whereas everyone else got to race with someone that they (presumably) love.

i don't know, maybe i'm looking for too much into this... what do you guys think?

Can we please talk about the Trixie/Starlight/Discord team up in s6 though??

Think about it. This was such a perfect character choice. Of course this isn’t forgetting Thorax, but having the other three team up was such a good move. They’re all former villains/antagonists with.. conflicting morals even still. One of the best things MLP did was always make sure to keep a characters personality intact, even if they were being redeemed.

You had Trixie, who’s used to illusions more than anything, and who had to make those illusions work in their favor. She never had any experience with being a genuine villain (such as attacking with her magic), she was more of a trickster antag-so having her play such an important role that’s out of her comfort zone is fantastic.

Next we had Starlight. Starlight made a sharp turn from villain-hero, but she’s always been unsure of it. Unsure of herself. And here she finds herself in a situation where she can’t rely on her magic at all. She stepped up to Twilight’s plate big time in the last few seasons, and I feel like this was one of the first great steps. Here she didn’t have Twilight, or any of the mane 6 to help her, she had an mischievous illusionist, and a chaotic draconequus, to help her, but she took that leadership role, and helped them all work together. She stepped up big time here, and it’s one of my favorite episode(s) with her.

Lastly, Discord. God, (pun intended) the character development from s2-s6 is fantastic, and he only gets better through the end of the series. Banding with the others to save his friends (well, Fluttershy. But I count this because it’s still friendship development), is just.. such an opposite of how he was in his premiere appearance. And he was also, like Starlight, completely without magic in doing so. I feel like when it comes to him and Starlight specifically, it really showed how they had to adapt and find a way to shine even with the odds against them: something they’ve seldom done before that point.

Overall, I just think that this finale was one of the best examples of how every character could shine in their own way, and it truly paved the way to the series finale.

Hello everyone !! I’ve been slightly inactive because I’ve lost interest since season 6 turned out so very bad, but I’ve gained some interest now with the movie coming out and I’ve got hope plus I’m excited !! I watched three episodes i never got around to watch when they got out and here are my thoughts: P.P.O.V ( pony point of view ) while I really like the lesson that was learned here , that even good friends can mess up their communication, I think the ponies takes on their friends were slightly boring. especially when applejack told us about pinkie and we were shown how silly pinkie was because her eyes went two different ways :-/ I hate that. real people have eye conditions like get a new way to show that a character is silly for heck.  Where the apple lies I love it !!! I love how applejack and her brother were opposite as kids I love their interactions and I love applejack ! I’d be fun to see more exploration of applejack’s flaws and history since hm she haven’t had that many good episodes that explores and evolve her to be honest. Top Bolt cool i love twilight and rainbows interactions :~) i like the story between vapor tail and sky stinger !! I’m happy bout the conclusion, but i’d enjoy it if the problem was more focus on Vapor Tail and her imposter syndrome rather than hm .. that they had to evolve as ponies for sky stinger’s sake. I’d love to hear what you all thought about this season, please tell me your favorite or least favorite episode ! there were  alot of bad ones.. I don’t remember but, were there any good ?
