I was looking at some old fanart and. Mmm. There used to be an interpretation back in the day that Techno was somehow aware of the fourth wall and knew that this was all a story, so he didn't care about any of it, or that he was straight up blind to the feelings and reasoning of others and. Mmmm.

Now that I'm looking back that kinda sucks ass, even tho the idea of Techno knowing that this is a story is fun. It removed Techno's agency and motivations, because then it wasn't that Techno understood what the others were doing and disagreed with it, it was that Techno was just blind to anyone's motivation but his. Im not explaining it well but the logic behind it is so bad it kinda grosses me out.

Techno simply doesn't get it yet, so it's okay if we force our will on him until he does. We have committed no crimes or slights against Techno and if we did it was something stupid and benign and he has done much worse, because he doesn't understand our view.
