The Finished Fic

After two long, arduous years, I've finally finished the MMPC au fic! Enjoy!

The gaggle of teens found themselves trapped in an underground lair of sorts. The technology was alien, glowing buttons and gooey tubes. At the center of the alien console there was CHRIS MCLEAN. But they didnt know it was chris mclean cuz this is an au where he's an alien and not a sadistic tv show host. He's been tubed btw.

"hello campers!"

The teens wanted to kill him immediately.

Courtney cleared her throat, making her way to the front of the pack while piercing Chris with a glare.

"What is going on here, exactly?"

"Good question, my tumbling turnips!" Chris grinned grinningly, his grinningly grin feeling sinisterly sinister. "You're all going to be super heroes!"

"Are you /srs or /j?" Noah asked, large forehead wrinkling with wrinkly concern.

"I'm slash gay"

"Oh happy pride month"

And then they power rangered all ober the pla ce

Is the role-call thing they do diagetic ??

If yes, did it come naturally and confused the gang the first time 'cause wtf did we just say ?? Or was it something they had to learn over time ?

Also what are their thoughts on having to do a role-call ??

You mean the Rangers loudly and consistently announcing themselves? Like "Red Ranger reporting for duty!" and "Pink Ranger here! Let's kill this guy!" Yes and no. Like, yes they can hear it/say it, but they don't say it all the time. They do role-calls in bigger battles, definitely, but its more like an audible confirmation rather than a dramatic announcement. They have communicators in their helmets and whatnot.

As for the iconic transformation sequences...

Chris told them the transformations + mechs were voice activated at first, purely for the thrill of fucking with them. Very unenthusiast delivery from most of them. They figured out the truth after a bit, but I'd imagine they still talk to the mechs regardless. Because the robots are... like... vaguely sentient...? And also because its fun.

I like to think Duncan does the whole spiel with the catchphrases and such, but ONLY when he's by himself and nobody is around him. He can't let anyone think he's cringe!

Duncan, as you can probably tell from the wips, is an ASSHOLE. Especially at first, but his good morals are made obvious a lot quicker in this AU. He's a dick, but he doesn't want these losers to die, and very quickly establishes himself as an absolute tank in the Power Rangers team.

I imagine his fighting style to be reckless, dirty, and prop-heavy. In the show, the Black Ranger's weapon is an axe with a gun handle, but Duncan's leans a bit more towards poleaxes! So, like, an axe/hammer combo.

Bro drops in swinging and it works... 65% of the time without complications.

He definitely butts heads with Heather, Harold, and Courtney the most, even though they eventually learn to cool it on the battlefield. Over time their bickering becomes familiar banter. He clashes with Noah, but Noah's quips are generally harder for him to push against.

Could just be because he and Noah dont have much screentime together outside of, like, Dramarama, where they are shown to be fairly sarcastic with eachother at times, but... Eh, idk. I imagine his comebacks aren't as clever or aggravating when it comes to Noah, simply due to Noah's... Noah-isms. Duncan's pretty expressive, and its a bit hard to combat deadpan sarcasm with that.

When Alejandro enters the picture... Hm. He's not the first to catch on that Alejandro's the Green Ranger, nor is he out of the loop until the very last second. He puts two-and-two together, especially after Heather and Noah voice theit suspicions, but I still think the reveal would've knocked the wind out of him a bit.

It's one thing to go "oh shit, this guy is kinda fishy" and "OH SHIT OH FUCK THEY WERE RIGHT"

Seeing is believing to some people, after all.

Duncan has a fair amount of focus on his relationships; such as with the other Rangers, and with his friends such as DJ and Geoff. So that's something to look forward to! Especially since Bridgette does end up joining later on, so I'd imagine they're acquainted via Geoff!
