I love an exaggeration and a sadgirl poetry post as much as the next guy (clearly), but I hope all the people in my notes saying things like, I hope mitchy finally knows happiness and finally is loved, really know that he did, he was. just cause he was miserable in some ways doesn’t mean he wasn’t happy in others and he was, and he loved his teammates and his goalies and his community and most of his fans, and we loved him, and he was happy, a lot of the time, and that’s what makes it tragic!!!!!! that’s what hurts the most!!!! being reductionists or revisionist and claiming that he was in some kind of misery only no joy saw trap torture chamber for 9 years just takes away the complexity and the truth and the most painful part of all this. he did know love and happiness, and pain and misery, and at the end of the day, the love wasn’t enough. that’s the tragedy. don’t forget that
