lmao Gaara was my absolute favorite from Naruto (Rock Lee being a close second, but... Gaara). I guess most of my followers wouldn’t know this anymore but I had a fucking ridiculous Naruto phase, like I didn’t just wear a Sand Village headband around my neck every day, but also Naruto’s coat. Every day. For like 4 years. I only stopped wearing the coat because the sleeves started getting frayed and the zipper broke lmao, but it’s still in my closet back at my parents’ house!
But yeah I was an obnoxious Gaara fangirl, I had an OC with a complicated-ass backstory and everything that I paired with him. I roleplayed Naruto with each of my friends one-on-one where I played as that OC haha, those things went on for years.
We GOTTA stop having the same taste in people. We're going to end up with a shared harem sooner or later.

holy shit this has been in my inbox for such a long time and i am SO sorry i haven’t gotten around to answering it, my only excuse is Funky Quarantine Mental Health Bullshit™ and meaning to answer it but then forgetting. 😭 i seriously appreciate that you asked me anything at all so thank you ❤
this is also a very difficult question for me, because i love romance sooOOOO much. i’m using tvtropes for reference to help me narrow down my thoughts lol. let’s see...
1. Accidental Hand Hold and other such they-both-have-feelings-for-each-other-and-are-super-sensitive-to-innocuous-physical-contact stuff; I get the doki dokis real bad when two characters who haven’t confessed yet but so clearly have feelings for each other get all flustered when touching or even just coming into closer-than-normal proximity of each other. Favorite sub-trope of this would be when, uh-oh, they just have to ballroom dance with each other. 😏
2. Can't Live With Them, Can't Live Without Them - I love this one in a platonic context as well but it’s still very good with romance. It fits nicely with my fondness of found family tropes and such. Just... having one character who’s used to being on their own and tries to push everyone away realizing “oh no I care about this person more than anything,” usually then accompanied by a big scene where they have to go and confess this to the character in question after having had conflict with them... *chef’s kiss*
3. Headbutt of Love, and other non-sexual intimate physical gestures, like hugging?? I melt??? I think that’s why Cullen’s romance got me so good in Inquisition. There’s a headbutt of love at one point, and then the scene where you hug him killed me on the spot.
4. Romantic Fake-Real Turn, be it fake-dating or fake-marriage. A classic.
5. Arranged Marriage getting in the way of the couple; it’s my personal favorite kind of drama/external conflict when it comes to romance. It’s especially great if the main couple hasn’t confessed or even realized their feelings towards each other yet, leaving both or either of them going “why am I so upset about this?” So I guess it overlaps into Oblivious to Love in those cases.
