when i was little, i worshipped my brother. i wanted to be just like him. and every time there was an opportunity to get a prize, i would try to get two so i could give one to him. it was unreciprocated, but i was young and didnt know and didnt care. i loved him. then he went to college and i grew up and i opened my eyes and realized i didnt look up to him anymore. we grew apart. he was there. i was here. i didnt need him. i didnt know him. i was an only child. it’s all fine.
he moved in. he cooks for me. he drives me places when i’m lazy/sick. he leaves the last portions of stuff like he doesnt want to finish it in case i want some. he listens to me rant about my stupid shit. he makes me feel better about myself when i’m insecure... and i feel like a little shit because i dont do that anymore. i spent so many years where it was just me. i dont think about if someone wants the last of something. i freaking eat it. bc if i dont eat it, no one will. and it will rot. lol.
he was an absent bro, i was an all star sister.
