So I’ve seen the images for the new Toddler Mutant Ninja Turtles.

I won’t make the mistake I made with Rise and write it off without watching the first three or so episodes. I maintain the rule for anime I can do it for my favorite franchise. HOWEVER;

I hate everything about how they look. And everything this seems to be. Because what in the Trollz glitter- backyardigan, paw patrol looking bullshit is this actually. Not impressed. Not looking forward to it. There will be no plot, just weekly episodes of nonsense and maybe a life lesson that’s real world applicable if we’re LUCKY.

Yall can be ‘unironically hype’ if you want to but just remember:

I dont have high hopes. But I’ve been wrong before so. We’ll see.

All that bothers me is that… TMNT was never for children. They were never made for kids. The comics weren’t made for kids. The movie, 2003 series based on the comics— none of it was made with a very young, TODDLER audience in mind.

ALL of the child friendly TMNT media and merch. Yes that includes and is perpetuated by the 87 series— was developed for children SOLELY because companies and investors thought it would be more profitable. And theyve been chasing the TurtleMania era ever since.

So it’s the week of Christmas— and I have honestly been utterly buried under holiday responsibilities, financial troubles, a part time retail job with a really inconsistent schedule, and recently getting engaged.

I know I talked to a few folks about a Christmas/Holiday Special Critters, but it’s already past my usual post time and it hasn’t been a great weekend for me emotionally— which the closer to Christmas it gets, the worse I’ve been feeling.

I have so much to do, so many people to entertain, on top of having to plan to be out of town to be with family all week until New Years.

So it’s with a heavy heart that I have to put the Critters on a hold until after the holidays. I’m sorry for those who were looking forward to them, and I’m sorry to @tamale4prez for the delay, but I am unfortunately just one person, and I can’t balance this, my personal art projects, my commissions, job, mental stability, family and holidays all at the same time. My weekends aren’t free and Monday is usually my recovery day, especially lately, so it’s possible I will change the day the Critters go up to be easier in my schedule. But as of right now—

I just don’t have it in me.

I want to write about Sukuna but in the way how we conceptualize horror. I want to write about him in the sense of someone being close to horror in order to suppress the everyday horrors done to them. I want to zero in on how his attraction and interest in you does not abstain you from horror. I want to write about how Sukuna is a king of curses.

Although we can pray and try to find a light within, we can philosophize his actions - he ultimately will cause ruin and pain. The reason why thats so difficult though is because pain is relative. People give birth on multiple occasions with no remembrance of that pain. We go under the knife or get piercings but that doesn't stop us from going again.

So unless you can go back and forth from pain to normalcy then those horrors fall flat. I want to write about Sukuna as a horrifying experience but to those that enjoy and write horror to begin with. How do you scare someone who likes being scared?

How does Sukuna become a King of Curses to someone who loves curses?

All I want to do is wail about Adar and write fic about Adar.

But I HAVE to work because this month is basically gonna make or break me at my job.
