Previously in The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE Concept Trailer:
Three of Swords: heartbreak, emotional pain, sorrow, grief, hurt
"The Three of Swords shows a heart pierced by three swords, representing the pain inflicted by words, actions and intent on the emotional and physical self."
"In this card, it depicts a man who is suspended, and he is hanging from the living world tree. The Hanged Man is the card of ultimate surrender, of being suspended in time and of martyrdom and sacrifice to the greater good."
The Tower: sudden change, upheaval, chaos, revelation, awakening, personal transformation, fear of change, averting disaster
"The Tower shows a scene of chaos and destruction. The Tower itself is a solid structure, but because it has been built on shaky foundations, it only takes one bolt of lightning to bring it down. It represents ambitions and goals made on false premises. The old ways are no longer useful, and you must find another set of beliefs, values and processes to take their place."
The Fool: beginnings, innocence, spontaneity, a free spirit, holding back, recklessness, risk-taking
"On the Fool Tarot card, a young man stands on the edge of a cliff, without a care in the world, as he sets out on a new adventure. He is gazing upwards toward the sky (and the Universe) and is seemingly unaware that he is about to skip off a precipice into the unknown. And at his feet is a dog, representing loyalty and protection, that encourages him to charge forward and learn the lessons he came to learn. The mountains behind the Fool symbolise the challenges yet to come. They are forever present, but the Fool doesn’t care about them right now; he’s more focused on starting his expedition."
I can't remember if the last time we had blonde beomgyu for a cb was during their rookie year??
hoping we get this A:LS blonde gyu back 🥹 (his most recent blonde attempt but i don't remember if they had him officially promote a cb with this color???)
TXT ft. Anitta "Back for More" MV initial thoughts
It's here! It's here!! It's finally here!!!
The MV for "Back for More" is out and it looks sooooo good!! 😩
The overall styling/creative direction works really well. Absolutely loved how they played with the lights and shadows for this MV -- still giving tinges of something... forbidden? idk but the feeling of temptation still kinda lingers in this track, imo
AND THE WHISTLING IS STILL PRESENT OMFG I'VE JUST REALIZED WE HAVE WHISTLING AGAIN IN THIS TRACK TOO!!! WHAT UNIVERSE/TIMELINE ARE WE IN FOR THIS MV/ALBUM?????
We have our boys looking expensive in their suits. Love how they introduced softer, more feminine elements as well (cuts, fabric/texture, shapes, the shimmer etc) as it works to both contrast and highlight different points of their choreography. TXT always ready to serve ugh love them and their entire creative and performance team sm
On the topic of choreography, we were robbed of more Anitta and TXT dance interactions during the VMAs stage!! ☹️ AND WE WERE ROBBED OF MORE CENTER SOOBIN MOMENTS 😭 but of course, i understand that it's hard to have a "center" when there are six of them (including Anitta) on stage and this might be the one and only time they can perform live together so they made adjustments to their blocking
THE DANCE BREAK THOUGH??? IMMACULATE. LOVED IT. lowkey obsessed with the choreo where they do some miming actions of some sort to the instrumentals (idk how to describe it) -- scratches my brain just right whenever i see it all unfold in front of me 💆♀️ it's a shame that the camerawork during their live stage wasn't able to capture all that :(
And Yeonjun's scene at the end??? his little smile might have just ended me like what is he so cute for!!!!! I thought he'd go for a sexy little smirk or smth but it turns out a cute smile was even deadlier???!!! and i'm not even a moawajjunie so prayers for all the moawajjunies out there (and the bamtoris and the ningdungies and the solomons and ofc my fellow soobrangans and OT5ers out there)
the overall vibe and execution of this track was well done -- kinda like a dark disco approach that works really well coming from tnc: temptation. are we still being tempted by the devil even after saying farewell to neverland? are they now the devil?? who knows!! in any case, definitely staying seated for all that tnc: freefall will offer us 🫡
ok this is gonna be disorganized and i can’t properly articulate it rn but tnc: freefall really seems like it’ll be a huge turning point in txt lore given all the parallelisms with their previous album concepts:
Reality = You (tcc: freeze) + Mess (m2:tc) ?
Melancholy = World (tcc: freeze) + chaotic wonderland ?
And the fact that tnc: temptation was so dreamy and alluring makes the contrast with tnc: freefall really feel like a freefall 😵💫
someone even said it feels as though they’ll be leaving the txt lore behind with tnc: freefall and i am not okay 🥹 (esp given that the star seekers series has already ended?)
(from a performance and astro-related standpoint, saw a tweet saying their cb date, oct 13, has the LB in it which indicates a major life transition — either a departure of sorts or levelling up. the last time they had LB was for the cb for the freeze era, which was fucking huge for them!!)
Would the big change then actually be them leaving their lore behind and living in our reality? 👀 Have we truly reached the end of all the chapters in txt’s lore? 🤔
I, for one, am a sucker for a good concept and find that it makes a group/album more engaging since there are more layers to unpack and connect compared to the work of a musical artist who does not follow such an elaborate worldbuilding approach.
That said, TXT is still and will always be a group that strives to represent their generation. The star seekers au serves as an extended metaphor — adding to the storytelling but is not the entirety of their story of their youth.
clown mode on but if we see any or all of them taking on instruments for this album, i’m gonna be delusional and say it’ll be the start of txt sharing their own stories directly with us — no other timeline or universe but present day Earth 👀
(this is sort of a follow up to my previous post on the tarot card references in the Frost MV! i would reccomend checking that out if you haven't already for more context)
After doing a bit more research, I've found some more connections related to this card.
First, in the original Italian version of the Tarot of Marseilles, this card is named "Il Matto", which can be translated as "the madman". This reminds of me the lyric from LO$ER = LO♡ER, "laugh like you've gone mad".
Also, The Fool is the card number 0 in the tarot card, not having a specific place in the sequence, and it can be placed either at the beginning or at the end of the deck. Where else have we heard of a 0? "In this world of 0, I know you're my 1 and only."
I don't know how much I'm just reaching in this next comparison, but, if you're wondering "well, what's the number 1 card then?", it so does happen to be... "The Magician".
Is the hooded person the magician? Is the magician the cat in disguise? Are they singing towards the magician? Is the magician good or evil? Can this just be a coincidence, because "magic" is often mentioned in TXT's songs? There's a lot of questions that can be brought up from this, and I feel like it might be interesting looking into it.
Finally, exactly because of its position as the number 0, the Major Arcana is often considered to be The Fool's journey through life, In the same way the story of the TU is the boys' journey through the hardships of late adolescence and early adulthood, and their struggle in growing up and letting go of the childhood memories and comfort (represented by them escaping to Magic Island and constantly trying to rewind time to go back to those times spent together).
And I feel like the dog might be representative of something good on the TU? As we know that the cat is the main antagonist, and cats and dogs are considered to be rivals of some sort. Maybe the dog is trying to guide them in a good direction (though he guides them to the hooded person's tent, which seems a bit shady), just like the dog in The Fool's card, which:
"represents loyalty and protection, and encourages him to charge forward and learn the lessons he came to learn."
