WIP: Swan Song

swan song will be a short, romance-driven interactive story based on (you guessed it) tchaikovsky’s swan lake. this is a relatively simple project i’m working on, and it mostly serves the purpose of helping me familiarise with coding as well as writing original fiction.

Discord server

i don't plan on making a fan discord at the moment, since i don’t have the time & energy to ensure it would be properly moderated; i do however plan to make a small server for eventual beta readers.

Asks guidelines

general asks or questions about the stories are always welcome! if it’s in my power, i will answer as best as i can. some general rules:

please make sure to use gender neutral pronouns & terms when talking about customizable characters, main character included.

i likely won’t answer asks with very specific scenarios; as for the content itself, if you’re sending something containing a potentially triggering scenario i would appreciate a heads-up (even a simple “tw ....” at the beginning of the ask).

ns*w/spicy asks: i am generally comfortable answering ns*w asks! they will be tagged accordingly (#ss: nsfk / #nsfk) so that you will be able to filter and avoid. 

i try to keep a very specific tag system and use it religiously but let me know if you want something specific to be tagged!

i don’t accept prompts/requests for fics unless stated otherwise.

as some of you may know, i created this blog because i was toying with the idea of writing a fantasy interactive story and wanted to have a place where i could archive ideas and inspo. as of now, both those projects are on hold for various reasons ⏤ mostly because developing them now would be too demanding, especially since i’m completely new at coding and i’ve never tackled a project that big! as much as i love legends and when gods kill, i know that at the moment i am unable to write either. still, if you have questions/curiosities about those stories and characters, i’m always happy to answer!

Are requests open?

For now, yes! However if we get too many at once, we might close the ask box for a short period of time to get our bearings again.

Most of the time, yes! We usually have several requests in the inbox at a time, though, so we might be doing someone else's first. Please be patient!

You can submit multiple requests, but please submit one at a time and wait until your request has been filled before submitting another.

Unfortunately, this is a homestuck-only blog and we'll only do requests for homestuck and homestuck-adjacent kins. AUs, bloodswaps, or anything of the like are welcome though!

Can I comment on your posts, send you asks, tag you in posts, send you DM’s, etc even if we are not mutuals/friends?

Yes absolutely!! You can jump RIGHT into interacting with me no matter how shortly ago you followed me or if you’ve followed me a while but never talked to me! I don’t think that’s weird at all!

How come you didn’t reply to my ask/DM/etc? Are you ignoring me/are you upset at me?

I’m mentally ill, I work 30+ hours a week, I have chronic memory problems, and I get a lot of messages.. so my social energy fluctuates all over the place. I guarantee you I’m not ignoring you. Just give me some time and space. You can gently nudge me to look at something if you think I missed it but please don’t bombard me with messages pleading for me to respond right now immediately, it stresses me out.

Can I ask you questions about your DID, BPD, PTSD, gender, orientation, lifestyle, etc?

Yes you may!! I’m an open book about most stuff like that! If there’s something I’m not comfortable sharing I’ll just say so/not reply so you don’t gotta worry about upsetting me with questions.

Can I ask you questions about [popular tumblr user I interact with]?

If it’s anecdotal fun stuff then yeah but I won’t discuss anything about their personal lives or whatever. It’s not my place.

Can I ask you questions about political discourse, intracommunal LGBT+ discourse, social justice discourse, etc?

I’d prefer if you didn’t and I probably won’t answer them. Discussing this stuff in detail online is immensely stressful and I deal with enough of it offline out in the world. I use tumblr as a form of leisurely socialization, entertainment, and art sharing.

My opinions pretty much boil down to: no n*zis, no transphobes/truscum, no terfs/radfems, no homophobes, no racists, no xenophobes, no p*dos, no Islamophobia, no antisemitism, no fatphobia/body shaming, no ableism

All pretty standard stuff.

What is Golden Days?

Golden Days is a digital, fanmade zine to celebrate the books Carry On and Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell. The theme is "new beginnings".

Is this zine for profit or for charity?

Golden Days is a for-charity zine! We are directly partnered with Outright Action International. If you donate 10 USD or more using our custom campaign link, https://outrightinternational.org/#GoldenDays, you will receive the zine and one entry into our raffle. You can read more about the donation process and the raffle in our full post here.

When is it coming out?

Pre-orders opened on 24 Feb 2020 (Baz's birthday!) and will run until 16 March 2020. We will announce the raffle winners on 24 March. We will begin fulfilling orders on 1 April 2020. Zine PDFs will be delivered to the email address you used when donating. Raffle winners will be contacted for their mailing addresses in order to receive their prizes.

Is this only for Snowbaz?

Nope! This is an all-purpose zine. Your work will entirely depend on whatever the ideas of “Golden Days” and "new beginnings" mean to you. If that means a particular AU or a canon-noncompliant time period, then that is okay. You may explore this theme with any of the characters you wish.

Will there be 18+/explicit content?

No. Golden Days is a SFW zine, intended to have the same mood and tone as the books themselves. As such, there may be violence and strong language, but no nudity or sexual content.

How can I be in the zine?

You should apply as a writer and/or an artist. Yes, you can apply to be both! But don't delay! Applications close on October 15th. Applications are closed. Thank you for your interest!

Will there be collabs?

Yes⁠—if you would like to collab with someone, you will tell us that during your application process. Pairs will be decided by the mods. Or, you could apply to be your own collaborator!

1. What is a Big Bang? A Big Bang is a challenge that encourages writers to create long stories within a certain time frame and artists to create works to pair with those stories. Basically, the fandom gets a lot of long stories and awesome art all at the same time! Every writer gets fanart, every artist gets inspiration, and everyone gets to enjoy the final product.  2. Is this Big Bang limited to a certain pairing, genre, or rating? No.  All ships and gen stories are welcome. Likewise, AU, crossovers and fusions, all genres and all ratings are also welcome, including NSFW fic and art (but it will need to be clearly indicated as such so that no one ends up partnered with someone whose work will make them uncomfortable) So long as the primary focus of your story is Thomas Sanders and/or the Sanders Sides, you are good to go! 3. What’s the minimum word count? 15,000. This is a six-month challenge, from Feb 1st to August 1st, and you should use all the time available to you. So start writing as soon as you sign up, and make the most of all the time you have!

4. Can I write more than one story? You may, but please note that the deadlines and word counts hold for each story you submit. 5. I’ve started a fic that I’d like to turn into a submission. Can I do that? All works should be created specifically for this challenge. However, if you are working on a prequel/sequel piece to something you have already written, that is acceptable, as long as you link to the piece it comes before/after in your submission. That said, so long as you have not posted any of your fic, you may use it for the challenge. 6. Does my story have to be beta read? It’s highly encouraged, and I will be taking volunteers as betas to be matched up with writers who need them. 7. I’m an artist, not a writer. How do I participate? Artists will get to choose among anonymous summaries. They will be posted about halfway through the challenge and artists will be given time to read through these and submit their top three choices. Once they have their assignment, they should work with their writer so that the finished product is something they both love. 8. I want to participate but am not a writer or an artist. What can I do? Please consider signing up as a beta or offering to cheerlead creators you follow. Writers and artists need and appreciate all the support they can get! 9. How will the works be posted?  Works can be posted as submissions to the community, on AO3, on your own tumblr, or wherever you feel most comfortable. If they are not submissions, you will need to send a link so that it can be reblogged here. 10. What’s the schedule look like?

The 2019 schedule can be found here! Posting will take place from August 1st, with 1 or 2 posts per day and throughout the month, dependent on how many participants finish. A masterlist of all posts will go up once all posts are made.

How do I submit a tiktok?

Just hit the “wanna share a tik tok?” button and submit it as a video, do not send it as a link otherwise it won’t work. If that link doesn’t work you can also put /submit at the end of the blog URL.

Can you promote some of my tiktoks?

Sure! Just send me your username (ask or a dm) and make sure you’re tiktoks are downloadable, if I like them I’ll post them.  You can also submit you’re own tiktoks if you want a specific one to be posted too.

Why didn’t you post the tiktok I sent?

Either I didn’t like it(sorry ;v; ) or it was put in my queue so it’ll take a few days to a week to be posted. Sometimes I also just don’t see it since tumblr doesn’t notify me about anything on mobile so I am completely clueless.
