s.ooga’s father is still alive and with the s.heikah to present day. only he and a few others, including their village leader, know of where his son and wife vanished to. most everyone else in the village is either ignorant, or was able to glean context clues enough to figure out what had happened, but keeps to themselves. while incredibly rare, it was not unheard of for the y.iga to take people from their ranks for their own, and especially ones who had once been y.iga themselves and could not resist the siren’s call of hatred in their hearts.
due to this, s.ooga never partakes in any missions that regard k.akariko, and k.ohga allows this—if only, perhaps, due to a quiet, unspoken fear that he may abandon them to return to the home he had been taken from. staunchly adamant that his heart forever lies with the y.iga and their goal, it would be a complete lie to say s.ooga did not sometimes think of what he had missed. the father figure missing in his life was always evident in his young mind, and even if he never dared confess it to his mother (the first and last time he had, he hated what he saw in her eyes—the betrayal, the anger, the heartbreak), he still loved his father and missed his company. to look back, however, would be to turn his back on the y.iga, and he had been amply warned what would happen were he to return.
now more than ever that his mother has passed, s.ooga dares not even travel to the mountainous region where k.akariko is nestled, knowing that his steeled mind may not be enough to ignore his traitorous heart.
