no, it wasn’t that he wasn’t listening, per se. he  was ... erm ... hearing her words. but          you  couldn’t blame the old man.  he was particularly drowsy that morning,  especially for a   sentient being who didn’t really sleep too often.  however. sitting on her couch with his head leaning against his hand & eyes closed  ... well, that meant he was pretty darn tired.  at her words, though, he snapped to attention, colorless eyes fluttering           open.    ❝  pardon me.  what did you say? ❞
