Being upset that your city wants to put in a toll road to fix a huge traffic problem would seem more sincere if you also supported fully funding your government.
Tolls cut down on commerce? I agree. But if the government had enough tax money to build the road itself, it wouldn’t need to assess a toll.
Let’s not forget that cutting taxes reduces government resources to provide services to all of its citizens, including the ones that directly benefit you, like roads.
Putting up a toll road is basically the privatization of government services. Isn’t that what conservatives want?
