Elena headcanons? (Sorry but I had to do it.)

PLEASE DON’T APOLOGIZE I’M THE ONE WHO GETS TO YELL ABOUT A HISPANIC CHARACTER. i mean. ahem. i’m gonna be chill about this. send me a character and i’ll give you 10+ headcanons for them!

elena is a soccer fan! this is, like, mandatory. she doesn’t get super heated about it, she finds it’s a nice way to relax (as opposed to fitz and hunter, who like to let off steam about it). she’ll watch games with them but they’re all british teams so she also finds time to keep up with columbian games. the world cup is pretty much the only time when their teams can play against each other, and elena just sits back and heckles them (until columbia starts losing, at which point she just laughs and curses at the screen good-naturedly)

she loves columbian food, of course. her favorite is arepas and she’ll casually deny any and all statements that venezuela was the one who created arepas, what are you talking about, it was OBVIOUSLY invented in columbia. (this is a real debate that i have watched my friends argue over)

she likes weird and obscure movies! she’s not really one for mushy stuff or big-budget action or whatever. she wants TERRIBLE, LOW-BUDGET horror movies and TERRIBLE, LOW-BUDGET scifi and basically anything that has heart. she and mack bond over these early in their relationship.

elena’s generally a pretty laid-back person. she likes unpredictability, she thrives on adventure. this also means she’s not above ~upsetting the status quo~ once in awhile (translation: CHAOS and PRANKS and NEEDLING PEOPLE)

she likes to flirt outrageously! mack’s smooth but he’s not doing it to fluster anyone, he wants to make his partner feel appreciated. elena enjoys seeing how embarrassed she can make her partner. she and bobbi are both very good at this and will do it any time fancy dress is involved (in any universe where they’re dating).

since her whole power is, y’know, speed related, she goes out running! she didn’t used to do it before she went through terrigenesis, but she’s found she actually enjoys it? it’s a really grounding thing for her. she goes out early in the morning when everyone else is asleep and just runs for miles and miles until she can’t anymore. (she also likes to use her power to drop her plates in the kitchen without having to do the dishes, which she claims is “”training”” her “””powers”””, mostly to watch daisy get upset about it lmao.)

related: elena is a little bit of an asshole. just like, in a funny way. she’s really good about not crossing lines - she’s emotionally intelligent just like mack, it just manifests in a different way. she really, really cares about her team and considers them part of her family, but that means she’s going to express her love for them! by being an ass.

however, she’s VERY protective and will put herself in harms way to pull a teammate out of danger. (she’ll do it for anyone, actually, it’s just a little less justified when an agent is in danger because they are theoretically ready to make the sacrifice.) it’s the biggest source of conflict between her and mack, but she refuses to concede. she’s the best suited for an extraction, so yeah, she’s going to do anything to get someone out of a bad situation, no matter how dangerous it is for her.

she’s religious! her whole family was religious. she has faith, but it’s also a source of familial connection (the way it is for a lot of latines). she doesn’t really seek out a church while she’s with the team, because she doesn’t want to go to a strange church that doesn’t have her family and the people she grew up with, but she prays pretty frequently and keeps a rosary in her quarters.

she’s still in contact with her relatives. sorry, what was it you’re saying about her being estranged from her family since she’s inhuman? i can’t hear you!! she tries to call her mom once a week (realistically it’s more like once a month) and keeps up with her cousins in the u.s. through instagram and text. she doesn’t share much about her job, but posts pictures from her morning runs and- oooh, wait, does elena like photography? maybe! not sure. that would be cool though.

i'm a mess (but i'm the mess that you wanted) by @huntxngbxrd​ (ship: huntingbird) This story follows Hunter’s deterioration due to Hannakai disease caused by his love for Bobbi. It takes you on an emotional roller coaster only to have a twist that leads to a beautiful and satisfying conclusion.

It ain't easy wearing green by @florchis​ (ship: mockingshot) This wonderful Hogwarts AU shows a precious milestone in Bobbi and Elena's relationship and has lots of walkthroughs of all our faves, both Potter-verse and MCU. Super sweet and tons of fun!

Cause you're a sky full of stars by @365paperdolls​ (ship: huntingbird) Short, sweet, and poignant, this fic perfectly shows Bobbi and Hunter's first steps in moving on from SHIELD, and moving into their new lives—still, as always, together.

Wherever I'm With You by @loved-the-stars-too-fondly​ (ship: skimmons) An absolutely charming Skimmons slice of life fic involving their first place while including canon at the same time. They're happy and in love as they get the chance to enjoy a normal event in their relationship and loving what it means.

a second chance at a first impression by @theclaravoyant (ship: fitzsimmons) This fic is a different take on the end of FitzSimmons' argument in 3x08 and their first kiss. It has the perfect balance of heartbreaking angst, followed by heartwarming fluff. And let’s be honest, there can never be enough FitzSimmons’ first kisses.
