Both friends completely bought that May had escaped, and when it was revealed that it was just the Framework and she was basically in a time loop they both looked like little kids experiencing the Matrix for the first time. Just completely tricked, completely in awe. Really fun to witness. <- wrote that sentence not even thinking about how the framework and the matrix are basically the same thing
There was actually more screeching when LMD May was pleading with Coulson than when she kissed him
“When did [the flashback in 4x14] take place?” “Before Bahrain” “the 90’s” “so before 9/11”
“Wait what does the J stand for?” “phoulson joulson coulson”
Friend 2 wanted to watch just one episode, but the next episode is Self Control, so “oh now we have to watch the next episode FUCK you”
Friend 2 started swearing a lot during this episode
Literally the second LMD Coulson said the Framework wiped away people’s regrets, both friends asked if they gave Mack his daughter back
When Fitzsimmons had their confrontation in the lab both friends started screaming
There was also a lot of swearing and screaming when they found out Daisy was also still herself
When they saw Daisy they said “I hope she finds Fitz’s body. Either that or runs into Simmons having a panic attack because she just killed Fitz”
We’re watching with another person and all four of us started screeching during the bioquake hug in self control
“Oh and they KNOW Fitzsimmons is the best ship in the MCU”
“LMD May please betray them please betray them please” “you have self determination please you can do it”
The screeching during LMD May’s speech and when she blew up herself and the base possibly rivaled any other screeching since. This time also from me. I completely inverted off the side of the couch onto my head upside down.
EVEN more screeching when they found out what everyone was up to in the Framework. And yet. Somehow even worse noises were made when Friend 2 saw the Darkhold again
“WHY IS IT WARD. WHY IS IT GRANT MOTHERFUCKING WARD”
“Where’s Simmons. Where’s Simmons. Where’s Jemma Ann Simmons. Why is Fitz so snazzy.”
“YOU JUST SAW GRANT WARD’S FACE AND YOU’RE MORE STRESSED ABOUT THE DARKHOLD???” “You know it’s REALLY close”
This is the first episode where the two friends have gone back through the episode to rewatch parts. So far they’ve done the Fitz LMD reveal, the Simmons kills LMD Fitz scene, the Bioquake hug, and Radcliffe’s death
“Granthony motherfuck Ward.” - friend 1
Me: prepare to enter the torment nexus! Friend 1: you can tell it’s evil because Grant Ward is there
“At least he’s wearing boxers. Imagine if we saw his grenis”
Lots of pained groaning while Coulson taught kids Hydra propaganda
“Of course Mack could never be a bad person”
“Okay but AIDA looks SO good here”
“NoOoOoo stop manipulating loverboy Fitz!! His loverboy tendencies!!!”
Both friends deeply disturbed after Fitz shot Agnes
“They could never make Mack a bad person he’s the best person ever”
“TRIP!!! TRIP!!! TRIP!!”
“Oh Fitz. You’ve killed two people. This is gonna fuck you up”
“I can’t wait for Fitz to wake up and remember his entire evil life without Jemma”
Friend 1 catches a split-second glimpse of Yo-Yo and Piper interacting: “*gasp* YURI??”
Friend 2 has demanded to know whether there is fix-it fanfic where Hope is alive in the real world. Then Friend 1 suggested they use the human-builder machine to build Hope a body in the real world. Would love to see this fan fic
Lot of very pained groaning, sighing, and screaming of Fitz’s name in this episode
“POOKIE!!! SQUIMBLE!!! POOKIE BEAR SQUIMY!!!” - both friends upon seeing Robbie again
Both friends were on the verge of tears when Hope disappeared and they thought Mack died
"Oh Philip what have you done"
Season 4 wrap up!
"Fitzsimmons didn’t kiss! Daisy and Robbie didn’t kiss! Philinda didn’t kiss! Do they make out! Philinda make out in season five? Do they fuck nasty??"
“So AIDA and the Superior invented a new kind of sex, that’s fun. She gets off on slamming his head into the floor and pretending he’s Fitz, and he gets off on watching her kill him and knowing he can’t die” - Friend 2
Standouts for this part of the season: Mace, Radcliffe, and AIDA. Not emotional favorites, but impressive characters who made the season what it was. Very impressed with AIDA and Radcliffe
Friend 1 thinks the Framework should have started earlier because she prefers the Framework to the beginning of season 4, and she wanted more time with human Ophelia (opinions I share)
Friend 2 is now looking up this Superior/AIDA sex concept. Apparently no one has written it, they are disappointed. “Orgasm denial via murder” they’re calling it
Friend 2 would have liked to see something ironic with Framework Ward. “I just wanted them to be like wow thanks Ward- FUCK”
Friend 2 thinks the undertones of domestic violence in the Ophelia/Fitz relationship when she becomes human are fascinating and wished they’d been explored more. And the fact that Ophelia didn’t know what she was doing at first doesn’t lessen it, but does add a wrinkle. They also drew lots of attention to Fitz’s body language once he’s pulled out of the Framework. Constantly on edge. Very impressed with Ian’s acting this season
Friend 2 thinks SHIELD is the first show they’ve ever seen with straight relationships written this well, and they hypothesize that it’s because they knew how to write women <- real as fuck
Friend 2 would once again like to announce their hatred for the Darkhold prop. “This is your last thought about agents of SHIELD? Because we’re not watching any more.” “They should have made a better prop.”

okay why is the ending of 5x10 Past Life never talked about? I forgot how good it was!!! Kasius’s death with Simmons getting her revenge - ‘silence’ and SHOTGUN AXE delivering the final blow, with Mack avenging future Elena’s death??? The Mackelena reunion so emotional omg. And May and Coulson: ‘you know she’ll never forgive you for this’ ‘I have to hope’ and then Deke, who always looks out for himself, sacrificing himself for the team and his father’s dream?? And Fitz talking to Enoch over coms??? And then the ending with Tess and Flint and they’re about to fix the earth??? THATS INSANE!!!! Like they gave them hope even though that future never came to pass! That time line is still gonna be okay!!
