And check out the official synopsis for the film below:
With the nation of Panem in a full scale war, Katniss confronts President Snow (Donald Sutherland) in the final showdown. Teamed with a group of her closest friends – including Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Finnick (Sam Claflin), and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) – Katniss goes off on a mission with the unit from District 13 as they risk their lives to stage an assassination attempt on President Snow who has become increasingly obsessed with destroying her. The mortal traps, enemies, and moral choices that await Katniss will challenge her more than any arena she faced in The Hunger Games.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 is directed by Francis Lawrence from a screenplay by Peter Craig and Danny Strong and features an acclaimed cast including Academy Award®-winner Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Willow Shields, Sam Claflin, Jena Malone with Stanley Tucci and Donald Sutherland reprising their original roles from The Hunger Games and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. The impressive lineup is joined by The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 co-stars five-time Academy Award®-nominee Julianne Moore, Mahershala Ali, Natalie Dormer, Wes Chatham, Elden Henson and Evan Ross.
Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer confirmed during the call that the film will release theatrically in 'all formats' - 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D - in all territories worldwide the week of November 20.
In regards to the Mockingjay( and the Hunger games trilogy/movie quartet?) how do you feel on their portrayal of PTSD? What was your favorite(s) part(s) of the movie? Least favorite?
I don't have PTSD, so I can't speak with much authority on how accurate its portrayal is personally. I've heard others say that it is done very well, and I know that for me it is very moving and gut wrenching.
My favorite parts are hard to pin down really. I really liked Katniss taking her conditions to Coin. I lied her in the hospital. Those times when you can see her regaining some agency over her actions.
Least favorite? Any of the romance stuff, which has always felt unneeded to me, and just the stuff they cut.
MOCKINGJAY PART 1 BULLET POINTS:
ok, like many people i had my doubts about this movie, but it exceeded all of my expectations, so lets talk about that!
PTSD katniss is so important to me
i swear, if every book to movie adaptation was like this, the world would be a better place.
i am so impressed by how they filled in the movie, it could have been so long and drawn out, but they put in some incredible details that just brought the whole story full circle
and let me tell you something about Jennifer Lawrence's acting
IT IS ON POINT
ugly crying is the only crying i will allow in any movie
the thing with mockingjay is that a lot of the bulk of katniss's development as a character happens during inner monologues, but you can tell just what the character is feeling at the right moments, and its just perfect
and the flash back and forth between the rebellion and district 13 was so good
uugh, and THE HANGING TREE
STRAIGHT UP CHILLS BRUH
i cant even handle how well done this movie was.
i still think that catching fire should have been split into two parts instead of mockingjay, and that the movie was kind of short
but i aint even mad
if all book to movie adaptations used the opportunity to develop the story in the ways the books couldnt
we would have much better movies
pEETA MELLARK
PROTECT HIM AT ALL COSTS
those last 5 minutes
i couldnt even breathe.
but honestly if all book to movie adaptations spent time and effort into finding ways to flesh out characters and plot themes
IMMA TALK ABOUT EFFIE
SHE CAME ON SCREEN AND I WAS LIKE
BOW DOWN BITCHES THE QUEEN IS HERE
i have so much freaking respect for Josh Hutcherson's acting skills after this, honeslty.
president coin SLAYED
all in all im so happy with this movie. it captured the essence of the books perfectly
also im empty inside because of this movie.
I. AM. FREAKING. OUT.
