I feel like my brain & my eyes aren’t ‘working properly’. Like my working memory & procedural memory aren’t working very well and I’m struggling to take in visual information, I guess that’s part of the working memory not working properly. Like my executive processing isn’t working.

I’m concerned it’s the Moclobemide. I want to see the psychiatrist. I’m hoping maybe because I’m going to Parc & she works at Parc two days a week I might be able to squeeze some time from her rather than waiting ages for some time at the MH community service. Coz this is scary not okay side effects. There’s a lot I’ll tolerate. There’s some stuff I can’t.

Ahhhhhhhhh. I finally decided tonight to stop stressing about my new medication & just hope it actually works. Then I realise I can’t actually take the sleeping medication my doctor gave me because there’s a drug interaction with this medication. For fuck sake. I’m calling my case manager tomorrow for her to ask the psychiatrist there about it & if it actually a problem I’m coming off the antidepressant. I’m done. Fuck this. It’s not worth the stress. Needing to research every single thing I’m out on because apparently no one actually looks up or care what the interactions are. No one actually knows anything about this medication. & for what? It’s probably not actually going to work because meds don’t work for me.

I’m so fucking freaked out by this Moclobemide stuff. Some of the stuff online says it’s fine, you don’t have to worry about tyramine and dangerously high blood pressure. Other things say you do.

To make matters worse, almost everything that has high tyramine is beginning food. Soy- especially tofu, nuts, seeds, cheese, snow peas. Things that give me protein & iron. & even on the drug info page it says I can’t eat avocado.

Why avos an issue & nothing else on that? They’re not even considered the worst of the tyramine stuff.

I’m going to talk to my GP tomorrow & see what she thinks. If she agrees I’m going to stop this before we really start. (The temporary psychiatrist prescribed it at my case managers service, who doesn’t know I’m vego).

It’s not worth it to me. I have to balance the risk to my health of halving my access to protein to reduce my risk of high blood pressure for the small chance this medication will work.

It seems like the higher amount of tyramine you’re exposed to in a day, the higher your risk. & my exposure is higher than others. & if I need to go on a higher dose, the higher the risk too.

Plus like, what a sad life without avocado. lol.

Can you tell I have no hope in medication? I’m not willing to give up avocado for it. lol.

so i got a prescription for moclobemide cause ketamine isnt working too well anymore and i took my first one last night at work and i got SO dizzy and disoriented it didnt go well at all

im hoping it works!!!
