HIIIIII HELLOOOOOO, sorry for dropping off the face of the planet!!!! we're still here!!! we just had a really really nasty cold and had to focus on getting better, and then immediately after we recovered, we had a convention to go to (which was great fun)! posting should resume as normal provided we don't get sniped by another winter bug!

Fictionfolk joy is when you dress as your fictotype for Halloween, and all day at school everyone calls out your fictotype's name in recognition when they see you. I can just grin and say "Yeah, I'm [Character]!" And it feels for a moment like they can see the real me and are calling me by that name and accepting me.

Fictionfolk joy is loving Halloween with every ounce of your body because you get to dress as your true self and nobody questions it at all.

This is fictonfolk joy!

We dressed as Jay/his source for Halloween, and he was genuinely so happy he was in front all day. Halloween is the official fictionfolk holiday, I think. :)

fictionfolk joy is drawing yourself via drawing fanart but making little tweaks and feeling the overwhelming euphoria of seeing you as YOU. fictionfolk joy is knowing who "you" are, separate from your source and potential headmates. knowing what makes you "you" and seeing it as yourself and finally feeling happy in your own body, even if that body is in a drawing or painting or even 3d model or something.

This is fictionfolk joy!

I use picrews for this, mostly. it's fun to make my "base" source so to speak and then go back through and make all the tweaks (sometimes I draw them in) that turn it from Sourcegal to Me :)

Source separation is a wonderful thing for those who seek it. We're all pretty source-aligned, bar exceptions with our interpersonal relationships (for instance— Robyn's and Cherie's source characters DESPISE each other, but Robyn and Cherie get on quite well, actually.)
