The foundations crumble at its core. You cannot see what you fear in the darkness, only hear the terrible cracking and breaking of the place you call home.
Your knees give out and hit dirt and the building comes down all around you, rubble and debri and mess collapsing tiredly, it’s frame snapping like ancient bones, after having played it’s part so long. You feel the exhaustion flow out all at once from it’s core. You feel yourself shake from the tragedy, despite the release of pain all around you.
You open your eyes when the dust clears. You see the stars. You breathe deeply for the first time in months.
