It is currently 12am EST where I live, so I'll certainly being doing a longer write up in the morning, but it's been an absolutely pleasure hosting this event! We are so pleased to announce that we have reached 150+ responses on our interest check! Since we reached our goal so fast, the form will be open for approximately 2 more weeks to gauge further interest.

Have you been getting plenty of mod applications?

Short answer, I am a little short on financing/production Mod apps and completely have none for shipping

Long answer (with details that may be important to some) :

I’ve gotten plenty of Mod apps for check-in, copy editing/beta, and graphic design/formatting, but not much for financing/production and none for shipping ^^;. however, this makes me realize a couple things (+ a worry no one has brought up yet but I would like to address right away) :

     1. I may break up the current Mod roles into a bit more, and accept a few additional Mods! This is still a learning curve for me, and I’m realizing how things will flow more smoothly if I break up the areas of expertise a bit more (ex. an Artist Check-in Mod and A Writer Check-in Mod, and an Advisory Mod.), this choice being made due to how some have presented their experiences and me realizing how roles may be better suited. All accepted applicants will be given a choice on this! If one of these new roles speaks to you and you’ve already applied, you may go back to your form and add it in the additional notes at the end. I want everyone to enjoy this experience just as much as I want it to run smoothly.

     2. it may be best to hold off on a shipping mod anyways, as I haven’t selected and discussed with a financing mod the viability of a physical zine. If I get someone who applies as one and fits the role, they’ll be on standby, but if Mod apps close tonight with no shipping mods having applied, I’ll open apps for them again at a separate time. It could end up relegated to another Mod, but I’m hesitant to put too much responsibility on any one Mod.

         2a. As a side note to why these two Mods have higher requirements, the person who modded bnha hallow zine has also struck again, and, while I trust none of my applicants so far are her, I would rather keep the person in charge of money and production separate from the person who will be handling products so that, should a drop in communication occur, we will know much sooner if something has happened and we need to take action. I would like to reiterate, however, that so far I trust none of my applicants are her. To soothe any additional worries, Mod introductions will happen as soon as all Mods are chosen and have accepted, and transparency will be key.

                  2b. If you’re still considering applying for those positions, please keep in mind that, so long as you have experience with accepting payment and succesfully delivering products(think a personal artist store) that you can give proof of, this counts towards your application

Hi!

Not necessarily, but experience is an important factor that we will be looking for, especially for the finance mod. Experience also does not have to be limited to zines! For instance, a graphics/layout mod applicant who has a strong portfolio but had never been involved in a zine would still be considered a great applicant. It doesn’t hurt to apply!

Q+A - Logistics

Is this zine manga spoiler free or are manga spoilers allowed?

This zine is going to allow manga spoilers, as well as any alternate universes that a contributor is interested in portraying — given that the alternate universe is set within the KNYverse or Kimetsu Gakuen’s universe!

Who are the current mods?

The current mods are Mod KYOU (@JUROSUKE on Twitter) and Mod Jess (@cheesecake12​ and @motorproteins on Twitter). For more information on us, please visit our Carrd -- we have updated information on current mods under the 'MODS' tab!

What mods will you be looking for?

Our Carrd has been updated with details on who we are looking to add to our team, as well as what is expected of each potential mod. We are planning on accepting applicants with the most experience, making sure they have previously helped to mod successful projects.

Do you have a tentative schedule? When will mod applications begin?

We do have a tentative schedule posted on our Carrd! Mod applications are currently scheduled to open on July 3rd.

How will contributors be compensated?

If we decide to make this zine for-profit rather than for charity, of-age contributors will be compensated through Paypal. Minors can be compensated as long as they receive parental permission and are able to acces a Paypal account.

Are you aiming to provide free books + shipping covered to all contributors?

That is the goal! At the bare minimum we would like to cover free books, but our dream is to be able to provide free full bundles for all contributors.

What's your contingency plan for the project? What if pre-orders fall short?

If preorders fall short, the current team has the funds to cover costs for the zine for contributors who want it. However, we will be unable to financially compensate contributors beyond that.

Will this zine be delivered internationally?

Yes, international shipping will be available! However, prices to ship outside of the United States will be a bit steeper than regular shipping costs.

Hello! It's really nice to finally see who the mods are. I'm wondering, though, why was Suga so adamant to say who she was when we asked who the head mod is when mod apps were ongoing? I've seen her in other zines so I wouldn't know why it was a problem....

Hello,

This is Mod Yuzu answering, first I would like to clear up a misunderstanding. The head mod or main organiser is not Mod Suga, but me.   Please don't blame Mod Suga for not revealing who the main organiser is when they are not the one. They only joined the project after moderator applications closed and might not have been aware of your previous question.

I assume (after talking with Mod Suga), that you thought Mod Suga was the head mod based on the order the mods were introduced in, but I too am to blame for this blunder. I usually list mods with General, Social media and Beta roles first before finance, shipping and graphics.  

I didn't consider it could give people the wrong impression of who the head organiser is. So please don't think they were trying to hide anything or blame them for any of those mistakes.

For your other question, let's direct that toward me of why I didn't reveal who the head mod was or who the mods were during the moderator applications and interest check period.

I earlier answered an ask about who the current mods were which you can find  [ here ]. 

Summarised: my answer back then was that we would like to introduce all the mods at the same time, which is also my reasoning for not revealing myself from the start.

From my previous experience with the MXTXPlanner and 2Ha Calendar where I'm the main organiser too, I didn't get any questions or requests for who the main organiser was, and thought it would be nicer to just introduce everyone at the same time (like I did with those two projects), also because I believe that mod work is team work and having someone "above" the others with a title like head mod feels weird to me when we will help each other out across roles if needed, but after talking with Mod Suga I understand why people would be concerned if that information wasn't clearly visible.

I apologize for any uncertainties it might have given some of you, but it was with no ill intent nor to hide the information, but rather just to introduce the team together.

We will update the head mod role on our carrd for future references too, so the information will be available for other people interested in the project.
