then there would be so many more girls in the world 🥹 everyone please split 8-10 new girls, okay? this is really important. this will help you because you will have 8-10 new girls in your head and that's intrinsically good i think
Judging by your usernames, Force and Motion, are you fellow physics nerds? Also, can I submit my homebrew rules to this blog when I've finished them?
Ironically, all of my friends in high school were physics nerds, but my username comes from an old screenname, ‘lycansforce.’ Motion has a same story, her name is from a username as well--that username actually IS a physics reference though!
Please do submit your homebrew rules! I like the format of the Homebrewery myself, or you can send a link to a google doc, or just well-formatted text!
any media you like that depicts plurality? book, comic, game, whatever
hiya! mod force here. mod plural knows a lot more than me abt plurality in media -- so stay tuned for some better answers -- but the biggest thing that helped me realize i was a system was Slay the Princess! seriously, it was instant -- the credits rolled and i was like "holy shit, i think i'm plural."
fascinatingly, it actually depicts two sides of plurality in really different ways: the pov character is discussing things with alters directly that serve different functions, while the princess is a lot closer to our (initial) experience with what makes new alters! i shan't say more because it's on sale and i will shamelessly shill the hell out of that game until the sun explodes or i do. take it away mod plural
what would you recommend for someone trying to get plural with it despite difficulties with consistent visualization? I've been trying a more passive "watch for any big changes in thought patterns, mood, etc" approach but the results have been ambiguous bordering on homeopathic, something more concrete would be nice as I'm a bit chronically understaffed at the moment
this sounds like a job for mod force! this is an interesting dilemma to have -- wanting to get plural with it and having difficulty doing so, to me, smacks of one of two things: either you're drawn to being plural for a reason, like i was, namely that you truly are and you haven't found a way to properly communicate yet -- or you truly somehow aren't and are interested in Becoming Plural.
i have no idea what happens when the latter happens -- usually, i assume anyone interested already has some plural stuff going on up there, and it's a matter of testing the waters and figuring out what the differences are. my general m.o. is to set up pluralkit, even if it's just for you on your own, and then watch carefully for a few key traits: i usually look for differences in voice, differences in typing style, significant differences in demeanor/posture, or different opinions of people/things. these are all a little more concrete than "changes in mood," something i've always had trouble recognizing!
maybe the sciencey side of things has more info, but that's how i figured stuff out: looking for concrete, tangible results. besides that, i also gave nicknames to any patterns of thought i figured might be headmates -- at first "drunk me" and (jokingly!!) "evil me" were the other headmates i identified. from there, they developed into full-on alters. so try nicknaming, pluralkitting, and looking for specific differences -- and get your friends to keep an eye out, too! it's hard at first, but if you've got a staffing issue, i'm sure you'll resolve it in no time. best of luck to you all!!
yall were so fuckin right about slay the princess. started playing last night and ??? was that intentional?? the overt plural experience??? it just feels like. SOOO clearly about being alot of people.
RIGHT? it's genuinely amazing how much it hits that experience -- which i think has a lot to do with it being about the mechanisms systems use to form in a way i don't see very often! perception plays a huge role in it on both sides of the equation, which really made me feel seen as someone who definitely felt like others' perceptions of me were bending me into new types of people.
when i first started identifying as a system, i used to say that if people wanted to understand me they just had to play StP so i could get into the nitty-gritty of how i functioned without spoiling it for them LMAO
run by Mod Force and Mod Plural! If you want your ask answered by a specific mod, say so in your ask! otherwise, we answer based on which of us either gets to it first or has the best ability to answer.
this blog is a general hub for system, multiplicity, and plurality related questions and/or advice. run by systems, for systems! throw us an ask, we'll try our best to answer <3
mod intros under the cut!
MOD FORCE: hi!!!! we're callie & the bbones, aka Mod Force! 'cause we bring the force and our other mod brings the plural. so you'll hear us talking about our own experiences, making jokes, getting the word out, and otherwise getting a little more personal with it -- as opposed to our other mod, who'll give you more specialized knowledge! if you wanna get a little weird with it or ask for our silly opinions about something, feel free to ask for us in your question. <3 ps: mod plural helped us figure out that WE'RE plural. so this is a huge honor LMAO
it's nice to meet you all. and all the other yous you haven't met yet. it'll be nice for you to meet you, too!
MOD PLURAL: hi, were corey aka Mod Plural! weve been big into identity philosophy and how it connects to plurality for years, but weve been aware of our systemhood for years longer than that! 8 of em total, in fact.
we love to discuss plurality and inform people. including you! have you ever wondered how blurred the line is, between singlet and plural?
we consider ourselves somewhat of a plurality encyclopedia. from personal experiences, to others experiences weve heard, to more psychological approaches or more philosophical and existential ones... hell, even strangely specific, intriguing, medically documented but not-quite-useful plural phenomena. we've got a ton of info we would love to share!
