Hey guys, I apologise again for being away as I had warned and detailed in previous posts, but I’m hopefully back and I’ll hopefully be a bit more active. I apologise, however, if overall I am not as active as I have been previously- it is incredibly hard for me to juggle this and college at the moment because of the sheer amount of work I’m being asked to produce to meet deadlines.
In regards of the update- we have contacted the coding company multiple times and we are receiving no coherent response whatsoever. This has now prompted Ice to take further action, and we are working towards the retrieval of whatever progress that has been made as they have gotten to the point at which it has taken far too long over their promised deadlines that we simply cannot continue to wait for this length of time, especially with this display of ignorance and carelessness. We are hoping the updates we have received from them (though few) are not just attempts at appeasing our enquiries into the progress and obvious distress at the length of time this process has been taking.
We have obviously been contacting other coders, Ice has been in contact with various places as well as heading the operation to try and get something out of the original company we had been using, which is currently meaning the work load that Ice is having to deal with is incredibly high, and the stress they are going through is likely incredibly high.
Progress has been slowed even further by this turn of events, but I need to remind you that we, ourselves, simply cannot do the coding we have hired these professionals. This is due to the fact we need strong security systems and a reliable working base to the website, meaning it’s less vulnerable to any sort of attacks or account hackings. This is, of course, our main concern. We want to make this site as safe place as possible and we cannot do that without a high level of security that has to be implemented throughout the website in a secure manner by professional web-coders. Second to this, we also want the website to function as smoothly as possible, with all the features working to the highest of standards so the user interface is as user friendly as possible.
We have some very basic coding experience between us, and those who are more experienced than others do not have the time to work on anything other than the jobs they have taken on. Again- we are all volunteers, and if those who did have more experience had the time, we would much rather have hired professionals do the work to ensure the safety of our users in the future.
I will be replying to messages and then take my leave for the evening! I may be back tomorrow, but if I am it will only be shortly- I have a lot of work to do outside of the site, unfortunately.
I know Ice has been drafting a couple of replies themselves, so if you don’t receive a reply from me they are likely being drafted currently by Ice. Either that or I have not had the time (or energy, I’m sorry) to get around to it yet.
