Headcanon: Kid loves puzzles. Like, all of them. Logic puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, riddles, you name it. There's something beautiful in the satisfaction of watching everything slowly unravel and fall into place.

Edd: Matt and I had just started out adventuring and we had decided to travel around Gabriev for a bit before actually leaving, and around the southern border we went into this bar and there was Tom.

Tom: Okay story over!

Edd: No, no it’s not- so Tom noticed us, a couple of strangers, enter the bar and Matt looks pretty fancy so Tom said- “You look way too fancy to be a traveler” or something like that, and that set Matt off and he started talking about himself, including the fact that he comes from noble blood.

Tom: Edd seriously stop!

Edd: I’m not done yet!

Tom: I was strapped for cash okay?!

Edd: Matt and I didn’t really bat an eye and Tom kinda just…became part of the party.

-you think his coffee is just straight black? think again

-the screw in his head is some sort of headband or something, it doesn’t go through his head. his actual ‘experiment’ with it is to see how people react

-the glasses also aren’t prescription. they’re for the mad scientist aesthetic (even if it’s,,, kinda reality for him lol)

-stein’s always wanted to be a teacher, even when he got really into science. becoming a teacher at dwma was honestly his dream

-i’m convinced he and medusa had a thing when they were teenagers. like. come on.

-his family used to go to germany every year to visit his grandparents during the summer

-in addition to above, he’s fluent in german (and french!)

-because he’s worked with lord death for a long time, he’s known dtk since he was a baby

HC: Kid and Soul like to play chess together. Kid because Lord Death taught him when he was little, but was usually too busy to play. For Soul, he appreciates the strategy and critical thinking of the game. It's also nice because they usually play in silence but it's companionable instead of awkward because neither of them feel the pressure to keep up a stream of chatter. (Could be SoulKid if you want.)

soul learned how to play chess as an escape that was something other than music, but no one else in his family knew how to play chess/didn’t want to or were too busy to play, so when he found out kid knew how to play as well he was all over the idea of them having little “competitions” with each other.

their longest game of chess was almost two hours (it was a draw), and their shortest game was eleven moves (kid kicked soul’s ass)
