i was asked server staff took down some auto art i made of my sona because "when you look up the term 'autosexual' it shows inappropriate stuff and there's minors in this server" (i am a minor, so this feels completely irrelevant to me). the only "NSFW" that shows up when you google autosexual is some sensual stock photos.

they let me refer to myself as just auto, but not autosexual. was also blocked by some users out of what im very sure was automesia (and some anti-objectum too...). safe to say i left and never interacted in either server that it happened in again.

its so exhausting because they kept telling me it wasnt queerphobic and its just a safety measure. i dont care what you say it is, my sexuality is being censored. and even if we found an agreement (i could just use the term auto), i absolutely did not feel welcome discussing my autosexuality there again.

This is automisia and general queerphobia.

That’s such a dumb argument considering you can find suggestive content when looking up any sexuality (and what is there is often safety guides). I hope you can find another more welcoming server.

so i see autospec and similar terk coining stuff kinda frequently, mainly on pinterest , and theres always one comment on them, "that's actually narcissism" or something similar

it not only to me seems automisic or whatever the right word would be it also seems anti npd or at least really stereotyping npd which is kinda in itself anti npd. it just pisses me off. and its soooooo common too

Automisia and deitykin alterhumisia(/anti-religion?) is the constant demonization of self-pride. Whenever people are proud of their appearance, their work, or especially who they are, other people are quick to tear them down, calling them shit like egotistical, selfish, and narcissistic (which is also ableist) even if they've done nothing wrong and are just sharing their joy. Meanwhile, people who self-deprecate are praised for their humility (which is harmful to them too). This culture has made me deeply ashamed of not only my attraction to myself, but even worse, my worship of my divine aspect. These are not only parts of who I am, but ways I cope with my mind telling me I'm an evil person. To be learning to love myself through romantic, sexual, and religious love, only to hear constantly that loving yourself in these ways is evil, makes me have to start all over again repeatedly. I just wish people share in others' joy rather than being assholes whenever they see someone uplifting themself and being who they are instead of tearing themself down for validation.

I'd call this culture misogynist and queermisic too as women and queer people are the most common victims of this I've seen.

I feel it also can be argued this type of automisia stems from transphobia, as transphobes like to use “autogynephilia” as an anti-trans talking point, I go over how using it as such really doesn’t work in this post. Link
