hey y'all i'm mel (she/her) and welcome to the sixth (holy christ) year of my magnum opus. i alternate between the behind-the-scenes and all up in ur business so i look forward to fulfilling my duty as a very loud cryptid.
helloo awesome blog also how do you manage to find such old posts??
hello hellooooo!! ty for the kind words & for your question!
it helps a lot to already have a solid starting point with so many posts of varying age on this blog already, and i already made a habit of collecting older posts from being a fan of legacy fandoms that have existed for 20+ years so it's kinda second nature at this point ~( ̄▽ ̄)~*
i never have a specific year in mind so we won't here for this breakdown of my process. basically i browse through this blog or any other fanwork based UT blogs for posts that are on the older side and open the notes on a post from around 2015-2020 (NOTE: having timestamps enabled makes this SOOO much easier! see this article for enabling that if you don't already have it already.) if you're on mobile, you're gonna want to look for "dashboard preferences" under settings as opposed to just "dashboard", but the toggle you're turning on will be the same between mobile & desktop) i open the notes, click to view "reblogs with comments & tags", and scroll down far through the menu to the oldest reblogs. with timestamps enabled you should see the year they're rb'd from there, then it's just opening one of these posts, and clicking/tapping on chara's tag in the footer once the post loads! the likelihood of finding older posts becomes a guarantee when you're browsing through blogs that were active around the time the piece of art was posted.
siikr is also there as a tool that i've used a few times for older fandoms to find fanfic & meta posts so i'd imagine it'd be helpful here, but i never bother with it for this blog since it's a hassle to switch between tabs when i'm trying to add a chunk of posts to the queue from my phone.
this kind of method is for picking up fanworks akin to how the humble gnome picks flowers for their kitchen vase to admire!! it'd be rly considerate of other's innate personhood & their ability to grow and change if folks could not confront an artist about something from several years ago if they've very clearly moved on and/or improved in any way since then, especially if you don't know them personally. please don't betray my trust in y'all ;-;
pee yew! whats that smell? its like somethings ROTTING or something
heh its me (me)
mod mel (mel (me))
heeeellloooo friends and family. i'm mel, she/her, and frankly in awe that the sixth annual batfam big bang is coming underway already. i've been a writer in almost every year (shoutout to the one year i wasn't) and finished almost every fic i've started (shoutout to the one fic i didn't). i am so excited to see everyone working together and talking bullshit for another year <3
