Otacrunch is in full swing and all of us are working hard to get our cosplays done. This year, Memento, Blumedoom, and Cascade will all be at Otakon. We will be posting our line ups soon, but for now here are some progress pictures.
First up in Blumedoom working on her fem!Victor design from Yuri on Ice.
All pieces are hand dyed by Blumedoom.
Next up is Memento who is working on Futaba Sakura from Persona 5. This is my first time working with lights and I couldn’t be more excited.
Very pleased with how bright the lights are despite them being thin. This cosplay has stretched my limits a lot, but its only made it more fun.
Alpaca Cosplay can’t wait for Otakon and to show you all the cool stuff we’ve been working on!!
We need a few headcanons how each ego (well, the egos who could fit with the babie) would interact and spend the day with them in order to get closer to them with the few days Captain Magnum being around while he slowly lets the babie on their own the egos but has like, an eye on them y'know? Protective daddio over here. - 🗿 Anon
OK SO
- Illinois
- simple boy, simple approach
- he just gets as close as BB will allow and gently places an offering on the ground between them
- the offerings will vary, either fish, shiny, or other food he thinks they’d enjoy
- If they take it, he’ll ask one question, they’ll answer to the best of their ability, and then he’ll chill with them in silence until one of them leaves
- If they don’t take it, he knows to either A. pick a better gift next time or B. leave them alone for the next day or so cause they’re probably in a bad mood
- He only asks one question a day, which really helps bb selkie not feel overwhelmed
- The Host
- This one is completely by chance
- BB, overwhelmed by the sheer noise of the main house, accidentally found the Host’s library but liked how quiet it was
- The Host knew they were there but Saw that they wouldn’t cause trouble and just wanted to be somewhere quiet for a bit so he let them be
- BB was a little awed by how many books they saw filling the library, but not knowing how to read kept them from picking any up
- Eventually they wandered deep enough into the library where they could hear The Host’s low murmurs as he wrote
- They liked the constant sound of his voice, soft enough to be audible but not loud enough to really hear what he was saying, and decided to stay right there for the day
- Eventually, the sound of his voice put them to sleep and The Host smiled a bit, thinking it was nice that someone enjoyed his presence for once
- Poison Ivy (they’re an ego fight me)
- This one is less of an accident but still not on purpose
- Ivy was working in the greenhouse when they heard the door creaking open and tiny footsteps entering
- He thinks “oh god its that kid the pirate brought they’re gonna get eaten or eat something, for fucks sake I just wanted a quiet day”
- Telling the orchid he was working with to hang on a second, he goes to chase the kid out
- Instead of tiny chaos on legs however, he finds a very small seal next to his anemone tank
- a little confused, he just stares a bit before going to gently pick up the seal so that they could see the inside of the tank a bit better.
- weaving some vines together to make a little hammock for them, he hangs the seal in the hammock next to the tank, and starts to check on the plants nearby, wanting to stick around and ensure the seal doesn’t break anything
- After about twenty minutes, he hears snuffling from the seal, and he turns around, curious. He does not expect to see the seal crying
- Not being good with emotions, he doesn’t know what to do for a bit
- In the end, he just asks some marigolds to bloom on the vine hammock and softly tells the seal that if they ever miss the sea too much, they could come here and sit with the anemones and he won’t mind. Promise.
- He goes back to working with the orchid after that, and next time he walks back towards the tank, the hammock is empty.
Why did I imagine Seal BB getting a coat or decorating Magnum (and or Eric)'s legs with like stickers or bandages whenever they seem a little injuried there? This AU has been growing more on me geebus. - 🗿
awwwww like ok Magnum gets into a fight one day and his opponent swings their sword at his legs, expecting to hurt him. It just gets stuck in the wood of one leg and they can’t get it free so Magnum just kicks the shit out of them. When BB sees the gash though, they kind of freak out because it hasn’t quite clicked that Magnum cant feel anything from like, kneecap down, so they insist on bandaging it and making sure he stays off it for a few days. They really start to worry when it doesn’t go away though, so Mags and the crew fill it back in with wood scraps one night so BB can relax lmao
I wouldn’t say we copied them. We just wanted to create an ask blog for our fellow Captain Magnum lovers to have fun with. The Iwouldfuck blogs were absolutely an inspiration for our blog and we probbably wouldn’t have made this or done quite as well as we have if it wasn’t for them, 100%. Nobody’s denying that. We just want to have fun with the community and the other people who like the same things we do.
Captain Magnum but he has an cap on instead of his pirate hat and it says "grandpa" there's this one fanart someone made and it pulls at my heartstrings. Imagine Grandpa Captain Magnum with Selkie!Reader but they are more toddler age and they call him "Maggy" (but pronounce it as Maggie).... maybe i'm the monstERRRR woAH- - 🗿 Anon
awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww Grandpa Mags is such A Concept thats adorbs.
OK so. I hc all the egos generally live together and all have dogs!!!! And BC they are all usually busy Magnum just. Dogsits them. Pubby heaven,,,,,
OH that’s an amazing idea! Do all the egos have like, different dogs or do they all have various versions of Chica? The Chegos! Either way, all those doggies are nothing but pure goodness
Nice! Do you maybe have a few more ideas perhaps what could have happened to them too? I was thinking Parents!Selkie would have been with BB around when they all got captured by the Evil!Pirates. - 🗿
GUYS THIS GETS KIND OF DARK. THERE’S NOTHING GRAPHIC BUT IF YOU’RE EVEN A LITTLE SQUEAMISH ABOUT BLOOD OR MUTILATION DON’T READ
ok basically what I’ve got is-
- BB and Parents are chilling in the north, minding their own business, as they do
- one day they hear news of pirates in the area, specifically looking for selkies
- naturally, the parents flip out and nobody really goes outside for months. They wait until at least a week has passed since the last pirate sighting before even thinking of leaving their house (cave, thing, idk they live somewhere safe and defensible)
- in that time, the pirates have caught and skinned four selkies
- BB is getting super restless and wants to go outside, so Momma Selkie decides to go scout the area surrounding a tiny iceberg BB likes
- She doesn’t see anything suspicious so she goes back to the fam and says ‘ok lets go but make it quick’
- BB is overjoyed to see the sun again and take their hood off and play in the snow
- Parents are wary, keeping an eye out for danger but they eventually relax a little
- mistake
- as they’re getting ready to leave, the pirates ambush them
- The pirates come in with nets first, but also use harpoons to nail the selkies’ flippers to the ice and prevent escape
- BB is terrified, because these strange creatures popped up out of nowhere and their parents are screaming and they’ve never heard them scream like that before and they’re bleeding -
- the pirates skin the adult selkies
- because they’re selkies, this doesn’t kill them, but it does severely injure them cause their second skin was forcibly stolen in an- ahem, violent - manner and so they’re unable to protect their baby
- the pirates take all three out to sea with them and lock all three in separate cells in the brig
- BB has kind of shut down at this point and its scaring their parents because they’ve never seen BB so quiet and still
- The pirate ship is three weeks out to sea, heading southwest, when the captain decides the parents are no longer useful and are just a drain on resources.
- Because he’s a giant raging asshole, he decides the funny/ironic way to get rid of them is to put them in a row boat without oars, supplies, or shelter and set them adrift.
- it takes the parents two days to die of exposure. The entire time, they’re frantically trying to get anyone (either passing sea life or the birds circling the boat) to chase down that ship and rescue their baby. It doesn’t work.
- BB is still on the ship and still in the brig. When the pirates dragged their parents out of their cells, they cried very quietly, and when they heard their parents shouting on the top deck before being abruptly silenced, they cried even harder. They didn’t think they’d ever see them again and they were very, very scared.
Can we hear more about the adventures of Selkie Baby?
Tbh This story took a hard right turn from where I was expecting it to go. Look at it, it’s grown a plot and other characters.
The water rushing past their skin was very cold, even for selkies. They didn’t quite know why they were running away, only that if they stopped, the thing chasing them would grab hold and tear them apart and they would never escape it ever again. They kept swimming as fast as they could, following the twists and turns of the tunnels through the ice, flying past other tunnels and other ways out, knowing that the only path to safety is just ahead, if they can get to it before the thing chasing them gets to them.
It’s closing in.
Panic drove them to swim faster, to take sharper turns, making them crash into walls as they jetted around corners, but no matter what they did, they could feel it getting closer, opening its jaws to take a bite out of them, claws outstretched -
Jolting awake, they immediately slapped a hand over their mouth to keep quiet and curled up as small as they could. Their breath was coming hard and fast and their heart was beating out of their chest, but no matter how they tried to calm down, they couldn’t stop shaking. They laid there for hours, listening to the gentle snores of the crew somewhere above them. They wanted to be held and comforted so badly, but the last time they had somebody hold them after a nightmare like this was before they’d met any humans, and still lived with their parents in the deep sea. Before they’d all gotten captured by pirates. Before their parents -
Jerking themselves onto their feet, they stumbled towards the stairs, determined to get out of the belly of this ship, even for a little bit. Once they had gone through the hatch to the top deck, they were surprised that the moon was still up. They’d thought it was much later than this. Creeping towards the stern of the ship, they paused when they had to pass by the door to the captain’s cabin. For one wild, fleeting second, they thought about going in and curling up with him. He was big and warm and had been surprisingly nice to them ever since he took them from the other ship but... they didn’t trust him. He was human. Every person on this ship , minus themselves, was human. And that meant they couldn’t be trusted.
Continuing their walk to the stern railing, they heard a song echoing across the waves. Homesickness flooded them at the tune. It was a song that mermaids liked to sing to the moon as the sun rose. Sitting down next to the rail, they hummed a few notes too. As soon as they sang though, the song cut off. Upset, they sang those same few notes again, hoping the mermaid would get the hint and keep singing. Instead, they heard a splash off to their left. Turning towards the sound, they saw a mermaid holding herself up on the side of the ship, staring at them.
Looking confused and vaguely concerned, she asked “Little selkie, why are you on a ship? Have these humans stolen you from your parents?”
At the mention of their parents, the little selkie began to sniffle.
The mermaid’s eyes widened and she softly murmured “Holy Poseidon. How long have these pirates had you?” Then, with a clenched jaw and a furrowed brow she asked “Have they hurt you little one?”
Shaking their head, the little selkie scooched closer to the mermaid. She reached out her hand and ran it through the little selkie’s hair, trying to comfort them. As soon as she opened her mouth to speak again though, one of the night watch noticed them and started yelling while running over and and drawing their sword. Hissing at the member of the watch quickly advancing towards them, the mermaid whispered to the little selkie “I will come back for you. You will not be left here.” before flipping herself off the ship and diving back into the water below.
The commotion had garnered the attention of several of the night watch, and they all came hurrying over to see what was going on. The little selkie started crying in earnest now, sad at being left behind, and scared of what the crew would do to them because of the mermaid’s presence. One of the crewmembers immediately picked them up and held them gently, trying to soothe them and get them to calm down but being touched only made them start crying harder. The crew member briefly spoke to another crew member in their strange language before walking down the short set of stairs and loudly knocking on the captain’s door three times. Hearing some muffled grumbling and a few loud noises from inside, the little selkie buried their face in the crew member’s collarbone, even more afraid of their punishment if the captain was getting involved.
Once the door opened, the captain (looking a little grumpy at being woken up so early) spoke to the crew member for a few moments before motioning them inside. The little selkie was gently set on the captain’s bed and covered with blankets, all of which were still warm from the captain being in them not two minutes before. The captain tried to speak to them for a minute before patting their head and heading outside with the crew member who had brought them in. Curling up, the little selkie kept sobbing, now more scared of the pirates and missing their home more than ever.
Deep underneath the ocean, the mermaid shot through the waves, trying to get to her nearest neighbors before the pirate ship sailed too far away. There was no way she was letting those pirates get away with kidnapping a little selkie and possibly killing their parents. With enough merfolk behind her, they could stop the ship and hold those pirates accountable for their actions, but she needed to get the word out first. Then there would be hell to pay.
