Going to a convention; need a cosplay: Alpaca Cosplay!!

Otacrunch is in full swing and all of us are working hard to get our cosplays done. This year, Memento, Blumedoom, and Cascade will all be at Otakon. We will be posting our line ups soon, but for now here are some progress pictures.

First up in Blumedoom working on her fem!Victor design from Yuri on Ice.

All pieces are hand dyed by Blumedoom.

Next up is Memento who is working on Futaba Sakura from Persona 5. This is my first time working with lights and I couldn’t be more excited.

Very pleased with how bright the lights are despite them being thin. This cosplay has stretched my limits a lot, but its only made it more fun.

Alpaca Cosplay can’t wait for Otakon and to show you all the cool stuff we’ve been working on!!

Meet The Cosplayer - Blumedoom

Hi hi! I'm Blumedoom in Alpaca Cosplay, your average Baltimore-based cosplayer. My first cosplay was for Otakon in 2011 and I have been gradually honing my skills ever since... very gradually. Besides just cosplay, I enjoy making my own renaissance fair costumes (because drinking in costume is my only happy place) and nerdy/adorable outfits for random things. For 2 years I volunteered for my Alma mater high school, making costumes for their theatrical productions and mentoring students interested in costume design and clothing construction. My favorite show that I did costumes for was Peter Pan, especially the lost boys. Working with a lot of natural materials was a fun challenge. I'm currently making an alpaca dress for Sakura Matsuri, polishing up my Steampunk Raichu cosplay (that damn tail), and struggling to find inspiration for this year's Otakon line up, as per usual.

My current obsessions are Yuri on Ice (currently re-watching it), RWBY (come on season 5) and The Walking Dead (didn't catch up in time to see season 7 live, so no spoilers please). I hope to increase my difficulty level in cosplay and meet more Otaku that I click with. Meet The Cosplayer - Memento

Hey all, I’m Memento. I’ve been into cosplay since 2008 and started making my own cosplays in 2013. Since then I have worked to get better and better at my sewing and crafting. My favorite games are Persona 3 and Persona 4, and my favorite series is RWBY. I’ve recently taken to live streaming over on my instagram (mementocosplay).

My current projects are to make an alpaca dress and Steampunk Pichu. I will hopefully have some progress pictures to post here soon!!
