Mod Mutt: Heeyyyy... Yeah, so, kinda dropped the ball with this blog, huh? 2020 continued to suck lmao. Unfortunately, my problems from the last 2 years continues to follow me this year with my financial situation and needing to work just to pay the bills. I got promoted at my job early on but in doing so, I’ve lost my steady back-up income, forcing me to look into getting a second full-time job to make up the difference. (It really doesn’t help that whatever free time I had went into caring for my new pet frilled lizard and being an active member of my zoo’s zookeeper association and helping them with fundraising)  However!! I have been working on posts and after discussing with Night (artist to October Fox), we decided that it was best that I hold onto those posts as well as some plot points for next year instead, to avoid rushing the story she had going on her blog currently (y’all better have paid attention to October’s story. That’s all I’m gunna say >:3c ).  I want to thank you all for following Spook’s blog even when there isn’t as many content as October’s, new and old followers! I apologize that I seem to have started off strong, only to disappear within the first week this time. I really want to try to make one last post as a proper farewell as well as answering a really good ask I got in the beginning of the month, so stay tuned for that!  Until then, thanks again and stay spooky!

Mod Mutt: Hey y’all, just wanted to let you know that this blog is gonna be on a short hiatus for the next few days, maybe even a week. I have a few things that I really need to focus on (like a certain Halloween princess’ birthday gift, WINKWINK) and I can’t do that without obsessively worrying about making posts as often as I can. I also work at a job outside the computer life and I’ve been stressing hella hard about finances that I haven’t been sleeping well, so all that shit takes up a lot of time and energy and makes one sad yeen (I’m not even sure if I can really celebrate Halloween this year). I really had wanted to do a lot for the blog this year but life is gonna do what it wants. Thanks again for your patience with me while I’m learning how to run a blog and provide content. To not be completely dead, Mod Night had suggested that I could post Spook fan art and commissions that I’ve gotten from other people in the past, so that might still be a thing! Until then, nasty boi is on a short break and we’ll be back later! Stay spooky!

Sweet dreams, old pup...

Mod Mutt: I know I’ve been doing nothing but apologizing since the beginning of the month and I’m sorry (again) for the lack of content on this blog this year. I’ve been facing a lot of stress lately and today, I held my dog as he passed away in my arms. It’s kind of the straw that broke the camel’s back as I lost my motivation to do... much of anything honestly (hence this super messy sketch; what is anatomy???). I do have the final post planned and scribbled down, so I’ll do my damnest to make sure that gets done in time so y’all can have a proper farewell from Spook. Otherwise, thanks again for putting up with my inconsistency lmao. I appreciate the support and I hope to do better next year. I love you Isaac. Until we meet again. 🧡

Featuring Fear Fridays at Spook’s Fear Factory! The most hilarious part about scaring the shit out of someone in haunted houses is that it always yields the BEST expressions! Seems like Mutt and Night were my first victims~ >:3 

Mod Note: New to Spook’s blog, I’ll be hosting something called “Fear Fridays” that’ll happen on every Friday of the month! Basically, it’s all hilarious YCH commissions of people’s characters that I’ve drawn over real life photos that was taken from a haunted house in Niagara Falls called ‘Nightmare Fear Factory’. How this works is that I throw up the YCH on my Twitter account and people can buy whichever poses they want (first come, first serve), but if certain slots doesn’t get bought, I may either use my own characters to fill in or I toss it up on this blog to see if any of y’all are interested. I’m hella excited for this project and I hope y’all enjoy this new feature! :3

Mod Note: Yo! Mod Mutt back at’cha with a quick important message! I truly believe that it’s super important to take this upcoming mid-election seriously. Yes, a lot of these choices seems just down-right awful that it’s pretty much choosing which is the better evil, but a LOT of basic equal human’s rights has been threatened since Trump became our president here in USA and quite frankly, enough is fucking enough. We need to take action and fight for our lives; you may not be directly affected but you may know people who will be. 

From what it sounds like the commenter is saying, why bother? It matters because every single one of us counts, even when it doesn’t feel like it, regardless of who you vote for. You need to be heard. You need to know what’s going on. I get it, politics fuckin’ sucks but our government is still predominantly crusty ol’ white men who have way too much power and money, and is way too old fashioned to run this country, yanno, the country who should be run by the people. I think it’s time to change that... Don’t you?

Just a friendly reminder, voting is happening on NOVEMBER 6th.

I never wanted to get all political on this blog and I promise this is the last of it for this year, but as a trans man living in USA with our own government thinking that transgender people shouldn’t exist, I kinda fear for my life. Mod Note: Yo! Mod Mutt here. I am very fortunate to have such awesome followers because I have not gotten any impatient messages about why I’m so frickin’ slow with updates but I felt like I still owe you guys a response and let you know that I DO see you. As you can see, I have plenty of asks to work with but my problem is time. Running an ask blog is a lot of work; it’s essentially a full-time job which is why my updates compare to October’s updates is so drastically different. Mod Night is an artist who stays at home and does commissions as her income, so not only does she have the time to work on your asks for her, she also have the practice and the rhythm to be able to work fast. Meanwhile, I do have a job that I work 5 days a week and I’m a much slower artist than she is. Plus, my living situation is temporary, which means I’m currently looking for an apartment to move into so things are kinda all over the place for me! Not to mention, this is the first year I’m finally doing Spook’s blog so I didn’t have a backlog of asks that I could’ve worked on all year with but now, ohohoohhh, boy do I have a queue now! I feel bad that I already know that I won’t have that much more posts for this year but, I assure you, Mod Night and I have been talking lately and man, y’all are gonna be in for a real treat next year! >;3

All in all, I just wanted to let y’all know why this blog doesn’t get updated as frequently as October’s and that I really appreciate y’all’s patience and support and all the fun asks that I’ll be getting to! Stay spooky!
