At least 7.5k, yes, from any part of the story, doesn’t have to be the first part! Ideally it should be half of what you expect to write in total since this is the middle check in, but the 7.5k is the minimum we expect.

its more of an anxious terrified sitting still and praying the snake doesn’t kill him 

the snake grows on him though

he ties small bows to the snake for fun

and most of them result in him running as far away from the snake as possible 

or ya know just walking away very slowly after pulling some pranks 

he finds the snake a bit eerie sometimes but makes friends with the snake
